If I purchase my AP online, do I print out my voucher at home then take that voucher to the Guest Services at the park to redeem for the actual pass? I need to order a DDE card, but I don't have my AP's yet. If I can order my AP online, print the voucher, then hopefully order my DDE card.

If you purchase your AP online you will receive your voucher in the mail within 10 days, I have found that it usually only takes 3. Once you purchase your voucher though, I have heard others say, that you can make a phone call and get numbers that will allow you to purchase the DDE.

Disney will send you a voucher that you can exchange at the parks for an AP. The voucher will have some numbers on the back that you can use to call and get a DDE card. My voucher arrived very fast.

OK, I have asked these questions a thousand time, but for some reason I can't get it through my thick skull! So the AP only begins on the first day of use, right? But the DDE begins when you buy it? So for my trip in November, I can buy the AP soon, and then wait until maybe October to buy the DDE? Does this sound right to you guys?

If you purchase an AP or PAP online or by calling MS, you can have a voucher (exchange certificate) mailed to you or you can request the "will call" option. If you get the voucher, there is a $3 mailing & handling charge per order. If you get the "will call" otion, you get a confirmation number and must take that to a Guest Relations booth on site. In both cases, you have to go to one of the Guest Relations booths on site to get the actual pass. Your year of admission starts on the day you get the actual pass from Guest Relations.

If you want to order the DDE, you must get the voucher, not "will call". The "will call" confirmation number will not work for DDE. The CM at the DDE office will need the numbers off the exchange certificate to process your DDE order.

The DDE is valid for 12 -13 months from the time you ORDER it. If you order your DDE early in the month, the year will go from that month through the end of the same month in the following year. (For example, if you order it May 3, 2006, your DDE will expire on May 31, 2007). If you wait until a little later in the month, it will expire at the end of the next month in the following year. (For example, if you order May 10, 2006, the DDE will expire June 30, 2007). If you call and ask, the DDE CM will tell you when the "switchover" will take place - it's usually around the 7th or 8th of the month.

Best wishes -

I just got off the phone with member services and they told me the numbers that I need to order the DDE card are not on the voucher, they are on the actual annual pass.

NOT TRUE!!! We ordered the DDE using the numbers from the back of the vouchers. The person you talked to didn't know.

I have come to the conclusion that not everyone that works at Disney is on the same page. I get conflicting answers from member services and the DDE department!!! This is getting very frustrating. If only I didn't wait until the last minute to decide to get the DDE everything would be fine :sad2: At this point, I have time working against me... I'm going to be in the world on May 7th.

Since that is only a week away, you wouldn't have time to get it sent anyway. At this point, I would just wait until you activate your APs and then go to customer service and get your DDE card, which at that point will just be a letter saying you have paid for the DDE card. You will be able to use the letter during this trip and they will send the DDE card so you will have it for your next trip.

Well you have the information and have taken the time to know more than the person whi answered the phone, who may very well have started at MS on Monday. When I am in a situation like this, I normally ask to speak with a supervisor. They are, usually, alot more informed. You may risk insulted the original CM you spoke with, but...honestly...he/she will get over it

Here is what I would do in your situation:

Order your AP ASAP and pay for expedited delivery (which costs around $10 I think). Once the voucher arrives, call to order your DDE card. The DDE office is open 9am-5pm Mon-Fri. Tell them you will be arriving May 7th and need a temporary card. You can pick up the temporary DDE card at Epcot's Guest Services window (outside the front entrance) when you arrive at WDW on Sunday May 7th, assuming you arrive before Guest Relations closes for the day.

If you decide to wait to purchase your AP until you get to WDW, you have a bit of a problem. Since you will be arriving on a Sunday, you will have to wait until Monday morning to order the DDE card. The temporary card will be available for pick up at Epcot some time that afternoon? or maybe after 5pm? I've read different things in various posts about exactly what time each day the temporary cards are delivered to Epcot. So, you wouldn't have your DDE card until Monday evening and would miss out on some meal discounts if you were planning on any table service meals for Sunday or for breakfast on Monday.

Good luck!

Here is what to do if anyone else is in a similar situation:

Order the AP online and choose to have the voucher mailed to you. Do not choose the will call option. Immediately after you get your confirmation number from ordering your pass, call 407-566-4985 (ticket office) and ask them to look up your voucher number (for some reason if you will call your tickets, the ticket office is not able to see your voucher number in the computer and that's why you need to request them to be mailed). They will ask for your confirmation number and give you your voucher number for your AP. Once you get the voucher number, call 407-566-5858 (DDE office) and tell them you would like to order the DDE card. They will ask for your voucher confirmation number and your all set. Tell the DDE office that you would like a temp card to be sent to guest relations at Epcot. Once you’re in the World, you can pick up both your AP's and your DDE temp card at guest relations at Epcot. If you do not receive your voucher in the mail in time... have no fear. The woman that I spoke to at the ticket office said that guest relations only needs a photo ID and your confirmation number from when your ordered your AP and your DVC member ID card to pick up your AP.

The last time I called I spoke to a wonderful member service rep, and a very knowledgeable gal at the ticket office... thanks to those two folks... I purchased my AP's yesterday and ordered my DDE card :thumbsup2
