My sister is thinking about puppy sitting for a family while they are on a 17 day vacation. She is a foster mom for boston terriers, so having multiple dogs in her house is nothing new. She is looking for a little help, and I presume others have encountered this in the past. (1) How much should she charge for this (Milwaukee, WI prices). (2) Is there anyone out there that has done this in the past that has a simple contract with payment terms, holding the family responsible for all vet costs or other expenses, and releasing my sister from liability should something happen (if you have one, please PM me)? Thank you!

Hi, I can fax you the papers we have gotten in the past from a kennel we used and from the Disney Kennels. I'd scan and email, but they are legal length (14 in.) and printed on both sides. They show all rules, prices and liability info.

Just PM me if you'd like them sent via fax. :thumbsup2

I'm a pet sitter in Kenosha, about 30 min south of Milwaukee. You can feel free to PM me with your email address, I'd be happy to help her out with info.

Forgot to say, Milwaukee prices will vary greatly depending on where she is. For instance if she's up near Bayshore or something, it would be much higher than in one of the Wards! If it's any help, down here in Keno I charge $22-28/day.

Hi! Whenever we go on vacation we typically have someone stay at our house (2 dogs, 2 cats). We've paid $35/night but have recently found a number of ppl (inc. friends) willing to do it for $25/night so that's typically what I look for. On our upcoming trip - 18 nights - we'll be paying someone $500.

EDIT Also just to clarify - during that time anyone staying at our house typically has a day job (just like us) so they are basically just being paid to be there as if we were home!

we use a dog sitter, we bring our dog their - mini poodle and she charges us 20.00 per night. i bring her his food/snacks.

i do not fill out a contract or anything like that..

you should get something signed stating that if the dog needs medical attention that you can take it to the vet (yours or theirs) and that they will pay the bill. also let the vets know who the care taker will be during that time. i have dog sat for three dogs from one family and 2 have health issues. that was one of my biggest concerns.

it's good to see a wisconsin thread :).. lol
