Public free dining thread: What did you get, how long did you hold..etc

Just booked 2 rooms online for POP, it was easy! I was on hold for about 15 minutes then I decided to try online. Our dates are 9/20 thru 9/27.

Big Sigh of Relief!!!

8 days 7 nights at Pop free dining park hopper upgrade & ins!!! :woohoo:

this totally makes up for the mouse head my cats laid ever so nicely at my bedroom door this morning. :scared1:

I am soooo bummed right now! I booked a while ago, and I have been calling since Monday (Disney Visa Holder) at opening and have been told consistently that they hadn't made the 2 BR villas available for the offer. Today I called again, and she tells me they've all been booked up because disney visa card holders have been able to call since Monday. I told her my little story, but she apologized that she was showing they were all booked up. I know it's not her fault. I still can't believe that they all went while I was on hold!!!

We're going no matter what, but I would've liked to have saved my family and my brother's family a good chunk of change!

>>sigh<<<

Don't give up, have you tried online? This morning I saw 2 bedrooms at Old Key West and Saratoga Springs, and they were on the Free Dining Promo. Check it out. :wizard:

No wait...logged onto my blackberry and my DU agent had my package booked before 8:00 am.

POP
Preferred room
2 adults/2 kids
5-day tix
$1496.

POP was my first choice...all my ADR's were made in anticipation of free dining being announced. NOW I CAN RELAX :woohoo:

UGh I am on hold to cancel a reservation! I wanted CSR real bad but it kept telling me it was unavailable so I reserved PORFQ my 2nd choice then I tried what a Previous poster suggested letting it show me all the hotels and I got a king bed room at CSR with free dining, 6 days of base tickets and 5 nights for 1392.62.
Now I just have to cancel PORFQ but I am so excited to be staying at CSR!!!

For those of you who took advantage of booking online, and you already had an existing ressie - does Disney "refund" your $200 deposit and insurance (yeah, they nabbed me with that one - totally missed it)? I would be more than willing to book online, but I really can't afford to be out $200-300 additional!

Yep, got two ASMu Family Suites for our dates. We're happy!

I emailed my AAA TA on Monday and explained that my 8/23-8/31 reservation would need to be booked as two separate ressies (8/23 for one and 8/24-8/31 for the second). I then called to confirm he understood. Well he calls this morning and tells me that I can't take advantage of free dining because I check in a day too early!!!!!  I yet again explained he'd need to book as two separate ressies and asked him to call Disney again. I told him he should conference me in if he needs me to explain it to them! Just so frustrating!!! Please send pixie dust my way, PLEASE.

Congrats to all that booked what they wanted

Thankfully I had my TA do this for me today. I got to sleep in and when I turned on my computer at 8am and checked email. She already had me booked and deposited by 6am EST - I guess the travel agents were able to book earlier?

That is why I refused to book anything with AAA for Disney - The offices near me are clueless when it comes to Disney travel. We have 4 AAA offices within a 10 mile radius and I have tried them all. I found an online TA that specialized in Disney a couple of years ago and I wouldn't use anyone else

AHHH I am on the phone trying to cancel one of my online ressies and they cant find either one of them :confused3  I have a # though so maybe the computer is slow?

Can you share your dates? Our neighbor wasn't able to get the suite only two rooms - August 24-31

Insurance is not refundable once on a reservation that already has a deposit on it

did you have a std view room? That's we have and I'm hoping we can add FD to that room. Our TA should be working on it for us this morning. I haven't heard yet. Thx
We have a courtyard view, did you hear back yet??

After oversleeping and calling in a panic at 7:45, going through the house in a whirlwind trying to pack lunch and get my son in the car to get to school with Disney music piping through the speaker phone, (actually, that was a bit fun!) I finally got through at 8:50... And got exactly what we wanted!

POFQ, 8/24-31.

Woohoo!!!!

Ok - all is well..... only held about 15 minutes (!)... she just added the free dining to my reservation and let me know how much we saved!!!! $800+ HURRAH!!!!

WL Woods View Bunk Beds, 2 Adults, 2 Children, 9/3 - 9/12, 7 day PH's

My TA just called and told me she was able to add the free dining for my best friend and her husband to their current ressies at the CSR with us for our 25th anniversary September 1 - 9 (we already had it with the bounceback from last year). Yahoo! :worship:

pixiedust: Here you go! I was so worried about this! I called last night to see if I should change the dates prior to this morning but was told to wait to confirm availability before I made changes. Got the nicest CM this morning, thank goodness! He changed our existing reservation so we check in on the 24th & booked our room only for the 23rd. Yay! POP for free (well discounted deluxe) dining! :cool1:

Thanks for your pixie dust GoofySon'sMom! The only reason I went to a TA was to get the AAA discount, which now will go out the window anyway, if I get the free dining. I really hope he doesn't mess this up and has the smarts to call me and conference me in if he doesn't understand. What's the old saying: "If you want something done right, do it yourself"! Regardless of what happens, I solemnly swear it will NOT ruin my day! :goodvibes

Insurance is not refundable once on a reservation that already has a deposit on it[/QUOTE]

Actually it is, I spoke with a CM this morning since I messed up my online ressie and I need to cancel it. It added the insurance automatically on me also. Insurance can be cancelled within 14 days from the original deposit.

Woke up this am to find my DSis's email, and WDW's email!:goodvibes DSis booked on the phone for us this morning, as I didn't get home until midnight last night! I was worried that DS would wake up at 6 am if I got up to make the call.

We scored two rooms at Pop Sept 15-20, free dining. Didn't have to go preferred or anything!

This trip is going to be amazing. I scored every ADR we wanted within 20 minutes of when we wanted when I called last week. Then she got our first choice value this morning. :cloud9:

Ooooh, I'm gonna have a Disney Buzz all day!

it was a nightmare I tell you.. :lmao:

I started calling at 7:04 EST.. it took a few minutes to get thru.. I finally am actually holding for a person by 7:06.. It took 1 hr and 17 minutes and she came on.. just as she started talking I lost the signal on my cell.. it took me another 25 minutes to finally get thru to be on hold again.. waited on hold about 30 minutes and my cell just died.. battery dead! I borrowed a coworkers cell and called again!! took about 10 minutes to get to where I was on hold.. on hold maybe 15 minutes and got thru..

I wanted POFQ but had to go for POR.. so glad I got it though:banana:
