PTR JULY 2012: I talked my way into another Disney Day! 6-30

Happy Easter!

The girls and I brushed our teeth and threw on clothes to leave at 5:45 this morning to surprise my mom by joining her at Sunrise service.

They had a two minute look at their baskets and grabbed an egg full of candy for the car. (I popped poptarts and made them hot chocolate for the ride.) It was a chilly 37 degrees.

At 6:00, Emma called my mom to ask her what time she was leaving for church. She said 6:15 and Emma hung up. I told Em to call her back and tell her we'd be there to pick her up.

After the service, I snapped this picture. I really wish I had been able to include the bridge in the angle... (my dad's grave is just slightly out of the picture too, so it was nice to have the service near it.)

Kudos to you for taking the girls right back home when they acted badly. Hard, but a good lesson for them!

Love the idea of making magnets! They turned out great!

Beautiful pictures on Easter! Hope you had a lovely day yesterday! :goodvibes

Catching up, catching up...

I was on spring break last week too! But, didn't get online much. We were busy playing and I made a new purse. It didn't turn out as well as I'd planned, I was disappointed. All that time away from my sewing machine while working on my masters....

I love the dresses! The black one is definitely hip and you will have fun picking out some awesome jewelry to go with it! The first one is cute, too - it's a win-win for you!

As hard as it was for you, I'm so glad you took the girls home when they were acting up. Made me feel better about my mothering - and I thank you:hug:! One time, DD had a hard day at school with lots of timeouts, and I told her the next morning if she didn't behave that she couldn't go to dance class that night. Well, lots of tears were shed when she came home with another bad report... But we had to do it. She had to know we meant business and weren't putting up with that behavior.

Great Easter pics - and so sweet of you to surprise your mom!

You all look so nice for easter!

Sounds like your day out to the zoo was nice.

Good for you for giving the girls a tad nudge toward a better attitude!

I bet she was a happy lady. This made me smile. I am a sucker for sweet, special family time.

Thanks. It is hard but a good way to put my foot down when I can.

We did have a lovely Easter! I hope you did too, and I am sorry to hear that Connor is sick! Hope he is better soon.

Thursday (my first day off) the girls and I stayed in pjs nearly all day. They were happy to not have to leave the house!

I think dance class is a really hard thing for you to put your foot down (you pay money for those classes!) so kudos to you! It does send a loud message that you can remind them the next time...

Your Easter pictures were lovely too! The egg hunt looked fun!

She was very happy. We had breakfast in the church hall with her after the service too - then of course went home and returned to her house for dinner several hours later.

I know how much she appreciates little gestures like that and it's the least I can do for all she does for us.

I am soooo far behind Deb - So sorry!

It looks like you had a nice Easter - you all look so nice - I love the girls' outfits!

I hope to catch up this week - I just wanted to stop by and say hi! :)

D~

Kudos to you for going right back home:thumbsup2 I had to do that only once and she never forgot that when I said something, I meant business! One of my young ladies at work is expecting and I told her the greatest gift she can give her child is discipline!

Love the pictures from Easter! That picture of the cross actually sent chills up my neck....beautiful!

So great that you could surprise your mom with the sunrise service.

Thanks. It was a great surprise for her.

Wouldn't bump?!

Hi there everyone! I have been only on the Dis periodically. I was waiting until the servers were all moved. The speed was difficult and I know with too many people, it just was an additional strain on the system.

Pete, on last week's podcast, said who to thank for all of the hard work, but I don't remember his name! I'll have to go back and listen. Anyway, I am one happy, appreciative Diser!

Life has been school, girl's school and soccer. Tryouts are tomorrow- the one round was postponed yesterday (but the coaches were most certainly scouting.) So, it was a tryout nonetheless- off the record.

School is frustrating again, but that's a constant rollercoaster. I had my evaluation, and it went really well. My students are mostly wonderful, but I am just worn out. We finally finished state testing today (testing calendar is two weeks in March/ two weeks in April - total of 13 days of those four weeks have an hour of testing built in.) Those poor kids. Now, we are giving the local assessment. UGH.

Okay, on to Disney!!!

Exciting news that has been released:

~can't wait to see Avengers monorail!
~Big Thunder reopening end of May
~Starbucks is coming to the four parks (June in DL and after in WDW)
~Ariel and Belle Realm opening Summer 2012
~New Magic, Memories, and You summer update- May 2012 (looks like a sandcastle...)

I'll be back later with some trip planning.

I am sure you are exhausted with all that testing Debby! Luckily, we have a year "off" - Ashley being a senior did not have to deal with it and Kyle is in 9th grade so they both got nailed last year. Of course, AP exams are looming which has Ashley nervous!

Good luck to the girls with tryouts!

We need to get busy planning our Dismeets!

July is coming fast!

We are exhausted schoolwise, too. We just finished statewide testing and have three weeks to go. It will be an exercise in crowd control.

Isn't it exciting about Starbucks? I can't wait to see where it is going in each park and how it will be themed. Exciting! Exciting!

Webmaster Alex is his name, I believe.

Our testing just started yesterday, but I was happily at the zoo yesterday with 136 second-graders instead of in the midst of the testing. I know he'll move me back to 3rd eventually, but it is sure nice having the break from the stress for a few years.

I'm sure the girls will do well in their soccer pursuits. :thumbsup2

Jackie is so right about crowd control for the rest of the year. The kids are feeling summer right now, and they are ready to greet it! :jumping1:

This must be a crazy time of year for you:hug: Good thing you have a trip to look forward too:cool1: You know there is one person in our house that was jumping around with your news of Starbucks...I had a hard time getting in that it wouldn't be there in May but for sure on our next trip!

I'm looking forward to the sandcastle!

I am experiencing the same craziness with my kids at school too. They have been out of control lately. I just can't believe I have to make it until June 12th. We all just want time to go faster. :goodvibes. Disney will be here before we know it.
