PTR JULY 2012: I talked my way into another Disney Day! 6-30

Awwwww! Those pictures are so sweet! And I cried a little, too, but just because DD is 4 now - close to your girls' ages when you were at DL. And now they are so grown! I really have to remember to enjoy this age before it is gone... So, do you miss pushing those strollers? :rotfl:

The surgeon did a fabulous job! :thumbsup2

Awe... too cute. They are tall aren't they. Course, my dd is just now catching up to others... she has been pretty short up until now.

Yep, we are on the other side of that...before long I can share shoes with them...Hannah is already a women's 7; Emma, a 6.

All caught up... I have been swallowed up by all the projects I have to do in our house.
Your Pretrip picked up but I may still write/type about dining plan, later. Your nephew is adorable. I am sorry about the girls loss. I love your pictures of the girls when they were little. We love Rainforest and go almost every trip.
Sorry about spelling and grammer as I am typing this in the dark and it being so late I am barely fuctioning.

What projects are you working on? I pin fantastic ideas on Pinterest, but most of them would require moving to a different house. :lmao:

I'd love to read about your dining plan ideas. You may post on here if you don't want to create a whole PTR. I'd love to share...:flower3:

Didn't see any convention errors, so you were functioning just fine. :goodvibes

:flower3: to you, Mom. I know that had to be a rough time for you to watch your baby go through that. It's so nice that you had the family support and :woohoo: for getting to go to Disneyland!

You are so blessed to have your beautiful, healthy girls. :)

I really only remember breaking down over it one time. My mom and I drove an hour and half to a doctor for the first consult. He told me that he would treat it, or I could go to someone else. He said, "Regardless, you have to have it treated." I sobbed and sobbed on the way home sitting in the back of my mom's car with two three month old infants. My poor mom. She must have been really strong to not lose it watching her 'baby' girl have a meltdown. Otherwise, I knew it was cosmetic and aside from the angry moments when adults were rude, it wasn't even a thought.

nice memory trip through photos

Thank you. It was fun to relive those memories.

Thank you! It's funny; I don't remember the stroller pushing. :confused3 I remember that dh and I were happy to have the strollers to get the girls around. I try to enjoy each age (sometimes it's reaaalllly hard when they aren't cute - just sassy!)

The time does fly by. :upsidedow

Today is our 100 day mark!!!! Hooray!!!

:cool1: :yay: :dance3::dance3: :yay: :cool1:

I booked two reservations so far.

I booked 50's Prime Time.

50s_prime_time_cafe_at_disneys_hollywood_studios-1.jpg

- from Running at Disney.com

I am a bit concerned though, and I think I will post about it on the dining thread. A couple of podcasts have mentioned that the CM's didn't role play.

I also booked Via Napoli.
Via_Napoli_01_998x450.jpg

wdw

I am looking forward to this one. I wish Hannah liked pizza, but we will figure out something to feed her. I hate to have to buy another entree. One of the reasons I liked this option was to save some money!

I checked in with my friend at school to see if she wanted me to look over her plan. She said they haven't planned much and now is starting to worry. She asked if I would be her travel agent...she has no idea... So, I am excited to help her plan. I will have her completely ready by Wed. when we leave school for spring break! popcorn::

The trip down memory lane with the girls was so cute. Can't believe how grown up they are now in such a short amount of time.

We can't wait to try Via Napoli. I have heard such great things about it!

Yay for the 100 day mark! We are close behind!

Those pictures brought a tear to my eye! Jasmine was also born with a hemangioma in her ear which they were very concerned would affect her hearing...but all went well! I guess they're more common than I thought!

I love the pictures from that trip....they are so little!

If you hear more about 50's can you let me know please. We are booked but if the CM's don't role play I don't think we'll go, that's the best part! We love Via Napoli and can't wait to go back! Hope you guys love it as much as we do!

Love the trip down memory lane and I think them robes are ace! :cool1:

Can't believe how much the girls have grown and reading about Emma's story struck a chord with me as I was in hospital a lot when I was younger as well. Glad she is doing fine now and still enjoying Disney :goodvibes

We just moved a little over a month ago so changing light fixtures, hanging new fixtures, painting, and organizing, for right now. I love Pinterest. I am always on there and have tried many recipes on there.

I will do a PTR, when I finish my TR from September. I am hoping to end the TR and start the PTR in May, especially since in May I will know exactly where we will be staying. :goodvibes

Horray for Double Digits for you!!! Less than 100 days!!!

Thanks! Time flies with kids! I have to see if you have a PTR to see where else you are eating. I haven't had time to Dis. I can't wait until Spring break--end of day tomorrow!

I am glad Jasmine's didn't have a negative effect. Did you just wait and let it go away on its own? Did it go away between ages 5 and 10?

What did you order at Via Napoli?

Thanks! They had tons of Disney merchandise as babes. I'm sorry you were in the hospital a lot. Fortunatley, Emma's hemangioma didn't cause any medical issues and the girls were both very healthy.

So I am going to do two posts today. Here's my life post. My Disney planning post will be next.

My students were able to cooperate and surprise me with this year's AP T-shirts. I helped facilitate the color selection since they really needed to get the shirts ordered and that was the last piece of the puzzle. We went with Wind from an Enemy "Sky Blue" (the underlined part is the title of one of our class novels. ) This picture does not show the color well.

However, it does show how well they know me and that our class is more than just a class. You'll especially love #5. (Some of the others are allusions and inside jokes.)

Also, I don't know if I mentioned it here in this PTR, but my mom is taking my girls and me on a cruise to the Bahamas in 66 days! I am very excited to be finishing school and vacationing before Disney. My girls are tickled too. In order to get ready for the cruise, a girl needs to shop. Formal night on the ship sounds fun, but I only have one "formal" dress that is a little outdated (Bridesmaid dress)...

I stopped at Ross (in the midst of picking up dinner at Panera bread) to look at shoes - who says TV commercials don't work. :rolleyes1

Before I walked in, I knew full well that our Ross NEVER has a good shoe selection- so I wasn't surprised when I didn't find anything. I was shocked, however, at the dress selection! I ended up with 5 dresses (with the intent to try on at home and return at least one - two were the same style different designers.)

I fell in love with two, and in strong like with a third. I took the typical teenager iphone pose (terrible quality) and sent them to my mom. (Am I too old to do this? :lmao:) Anyway, here are my new cruise dresses!!!!

$16.99 - this has pockets and is silky. It is so wonderful- I might live in it this summer! (forgive dirty mirror :sad2:)

$14.99 - According to my 28 year old colleague - this dress is so hip. (She is always so puzzled by my ability to be in style. hahahaha)

Okay so on with the planning. (I don't know why I procrastinate with this?)

In 94 days,

We will be leaving on a nice early flight out of Philly. So early (6:55 AM) that I anticipate being at Jambo by 10:30 AM!!! Woo Hoo!!!

After checking in,

945578491_gGy2d-L.jpg

Arrival Day Plan A:

Give Bell Services our carry ons, and hop the next bus to Animal Kingdom.

i-jdPFfnW-L.jpg

Since Disney has released Mobile Magic for iPhone (FINALLY), I will check the Fast pass distribution time for Kali and possibly head there first for fast passes.

I am not sure if just being on Disney property will give me access to the parks wait times/ fp times or if I need to be in the actual park. --Need to ask on the forum. With the use of the Lines app in Dec, we were able to hop around MK one night and hit the attractions with 10 min wait or less. It was awesome!!!

So back to plan:

Kali will be the last attraction before heading out.

Must dos:
Everest
i-n7Vb4FS-L.jpg

Tough to be a Bug

Dinosaur

Primeval Whirl
i-Cg7CZCw-L.jpg

Kilamajaro Safari

Flights of Wonder

i-7GPCjmD-L.jpg

One of the Animal paths:
maybe Maharajah...

Plan B:

Keep our bags and head over to Kidani's pool! The girls can stretch their legs and play in the kids' water area.

These pics are from 2010

945593619_thSHw-M-1.jpg

945593997_mFQcR-M.jpg

Dh and I can relax and let the magic sink in.

Dining:

I didn't address the dining aspect in either plan! Since my kids eat every couple of hours (have you noticed their slender frames - their metabolism must burn like a furnance!), they will be starving!

Plan A - Animal Kingdom dining
Anandapur (Yak and Yeti Counter) or Flame Tree

Plan B - Kidani Pool dining
We will pick up food to go at Mara.

I haven't decided about the mugs yet. Since we aren't on the dining plan, I am unsure how many I will purchase. One for dh and me to share and one for the girls to share? The mugs are about $15. Can I envision buying the girls 7 sodas? Nope. However, I can see hot cocoa... still. I think we will get one to share. We don't eat often enough at the resort to justify it, and we usually drink water. I need to get one to be able to get creamer... I don't drink Disney's "coffee" I instead use the mug for creamer. :rotfl:

Love the shirt especially the where 'dreams come true' part :thumbsup2

LOVE, LOVE, the dresses!!! They are so GORGEOUS and look great on you. I have to agree with your student that the second one is so hip lol. Enjoy the cruise...sounds like fun! Can't wait to hear all about it.

Also woohoo on getting to AKL early and then being able to spend the day at AK. Seeing your pics is bringing back memories of when I went on all the attractions and took in all the beauty that park has to offer.

I agree with the mug situation...getting one to share sounds like a good plan.

I forget - do you have annual passes, or if you go into Animal Kingdom, you'll be using a day's park ticket? If AP, I'm thinking a mix of the two plans would be nice. Maybe go into Animal Kingdom for 2-4 things, then call it an early night back at the pool? Sometimes on travel days, that's what we do, because we're so tired. Of course, your older girls probably hold up better than our littler ones do.

Either plan sounds wonderful. Just to be in Disney World and staying at AKL will be heavenly!

Lets see...

The dresses... OMG, too cute! I would love to be able to pull something like either of those off... but sadly, I think I am too... too something. :rotfl: Even if I didn't have an extra few pounds that I need to get off, my legs do not allow me to wear anything above the knee. At least, not often

I am seriously thinking of getting an iphone... so if you figure out if you have to be in a specific park... do share. I will be totally new to this whole smart phone thing... so it is going to take me some time to come up to speed with it all.

Your plans (either a or b) look like they would make for excellent days!

Love the AP shirts and the clothes for the cruise! Having a vacation before Disney will be lots of fun! Not to mention that your first day plans sound just about perfect!

You look fantastic in both of those dresses! I run into the same problem with the younger ladies at work....they always tell me "You're cool for being old"...then they try and backpeddle and I laugh!

Love the shirt too btw! A cruise to the Bahamas....Jasmine wants me to tell you she is "totally jealous"! She loved Castaway Cay and can't wait to have a whole vacation there someday! That's actually her dream destination to get married! I see $$$$$ :lmao:

On a side note, yes, Jasmine's went away by the time she was 10 it was completely gone! At Via Napoli I had what I always have, I'm a creature of habit, spaghetti and meatballs!

Your dresses look great, hooray for a cruise!

Your day at AK sounds like a full day. I hear that the safari is best first thing though, as the heat of the day sets in the animals aren't moving about as much. Just a thought.

I knew you'd appreciate the dress pics. I was a bit hesitant to post them...alas my readership would enjoy. :scared1: :rotfl2:

I do think one mug is the way to go...

We do have APs so going to the park for a couple of attractions is worth it. I'm thinking that MK has EMH that night, but I have to check my notes.

My bigger kids are tired but run on fumes better than your little ones. On our last trip both girls called it quits on different nights and dh/ I took one back to the room. I'm glad they can now say that they've had it.

Lets see...

I have a really hard time finding dresses, so when I found three I was very excited! I get nervous about style because some are too young for me and some too old. I think in the summer, though, I can get away with more. A tan will certainly help!

I love my iPhone! I did a post about Mobile Magic and other than a couple of glitches, posters think it is wonderful. Once you get it, feel free to ask about any other apps. My girls have itouches so I can guide you for what apps you want on there for Zoe.

Love the AP shirts and the clothes for the cruise! Having a vacation before Disney will be lots of fun! Not to mention that your first day plans sound just about perfect!

Thanks. The shirts are wonderful. They make me smile. I am actually cutting out of school a day early for the cruise! The last student day is Friday, and teacher day is Monday. My cruise leaves Sunday. :scared1: The last teacher day is to turn in grade book, keys, etc. by 10 AM. Grades have already been uploaded and everything else is done. We often just find last minute clean up just to pass the time. I like the idea of that vacation being a build up...

You look fantastic in both of those dresses! I run into the same problem with the younger ladies at work....they always tell me "You're cool for being old"...then they try and backpeddle and I laugh!

I always joke with this teacher because she does the same thing. I am only eleven years older than her (she's 28) but I guess I am so mom-like she can't help it. In the beginning of the year, she told me one day, that she was supposed to be the cute one. :rotfl:

Love the shirt too btw! A cruise to the Bahamas....Jasmine wants me to tell you she is "totally jealous"! She loved Castaway Cay and can't wait to have a whole vacation there someday! That's actually her dream destination to get married! I see $$$$$ :lmao:

Please tell her that it is a Carnival Cruise (DH wouldn't have been very happy for us to go on DCL without him), so no Castaway Cay for us. What a great place for a wedding (cough, expensive, cough. hehe)

On a side note, yes, Jasmine's went away by the time she was 10 it was completely gone! At Via Napoli I had what I always have, I'm a creature of habit, spaghetti and meatballs!

See how many things we have in common. :thumbsup2 Nothing wrong with ordering what you know you'll like!

Thanks!:goodvibes

We usually do the safari early for that reason, but I've also heard that evening is good because they are up ready for their feeding. Thanks for mentioning it!

The girls had spring break M-F, and I had/have Thurs - Mon.

They spent the first part of the week with my friend and she took them on the train to Philly and to the Franklin Institute.

Then, on Friday, we went to the zoo- with my mom and Gannon and one of the girls' friends (who will be in Disney next month!)

Isn't he the cutest?

Then, yesterday, the girls asked to do something fun. I told them I would surprise them, and drove them to a laser tag/ go carts/ game center. Well, Em was acting badly before we left, and Hannah turned into a downer when we arrived (she really struggles when she doesn't know what to expect...). We walked into the place, and they broke the straw. I told them that was it, let's go. And right back home we went. Ugh. It was a painful mom moment, but very necessary to get their attitudes in check. Usually, we are in a situation where I can't do this. It isn't often that we don't go with friends or have a friend along. So, no pictures, no outing. (And Jackie, you thought your day trip was bad...hahaha).

A couple of hours later, instead of dying eggs this year, the girls painted wood chips (I don't know what to call them- they are shapes) and we made magnets out of them to give to family instead of flowers.
