PTR-Cheating on Mickey w/Harry!...OMG! Only a month to go!

Hey Alison,
Just checking in and catching up on your TR with breakfast in hand so I don't end up drooling all over my keyboard at your food pics. :)

While all the food looked good, the item I couldn't stop thinking about was the ham biscuit at the colonial tavern. Must make biscuits this weekend!!

And I love Love LOVE the picture of you and the rental car in front of the Natural History museum. Way to bring the sass!

Have a wonderful time at Destination D!!

I've been so busy wrapping up the DC trip and preparing for the trip tomorrow that I left out some important news for the Trip that this PTR is all about! :lmao:

I made my ADRs for the October trip last week and pretty much got everything that we wanted. We made one decision, and that is that we are not going to do MNSSHP. They released the dates and ticket prices, and we just can't see spending $150 for a parade, fireworks and some free candy. I know there is more to it than that, but we decided we would probably enjoy ourselves more doing something else.

So with that decision made it changed our planned ADRs a little bit. While we are at BCV we plan on eating from F&W events or in the room so we only made one ADR during that part of the trip. We will avoid the F&W kiosks like the plague on Saturday and Sunday that we are there. Saturday I hope to get some Signature Tasting Events. Sunday we're avoiding Epcot all together and going to DHS.

Monday we move to the VWL, so here's the final selection.

Sunday, Oct. 30
Sci-Fi Dine in Theater - 12:50PM (tried for noon, close enough)

Monday, Oct. 31
Artist's Point - 7:30PM (first choice!)

Tuesday, Nov. 1
Kona Cafe - 10:00AM
Ohana - 6:45PM
hmmmm...I didn't realize that we were going to be eating at the Poly all day until just now! :lmao:

Wednesday, Nov. 2
California Grill - 7:30

I guess that is as much as I can do until they release the schedules and kiosk items for the F&W Festival. Probably a good thing since I'm on my way to WDW tomorrow!

I really think you guys will like Sci-Fi :) I love it, but I'm also a major geek who's happy with a cheeseburger and onion rings :lmao:

The rest of your ADRs look lovely!

Hey, we'll be close by on Nov 1st, we'll be at Ohana at 10:30AM.

We ate there on our first trip together in 1997 and I really liked it. I know she'll get the burger. I have no idea what I'll want, but definitely a chocolate milk shake!

I think Sharon and I both had burgers, but she had some sort of salad and I had fries for the side. It was a good time, though :)

Nice ADRs. Yes, I liked the burger at Sci Fi and took the cucumber salad side instead of fries. It was a very nice cucumber pickle, if just a tad on the sweet side.

Ooh! Cucumber salad sounds good....I've also seen some pictures of Onion Rings from there that looked mighty tasty. We're big onion ring people and love cucumber salad. I don't want to plan my whole meal before we get there, but we might just have done that!

First of all, I WANT those crab stuffed mushrooms!!!!! YUM! :lovestruc

OK, second of all, your ADRs look great! We loved Sci-Fi for lunch. DH and I both got the burger, and it was fantastic. Sometimes I just NEED a really good burger! DH had opted for fries, and I got mine with a black bean and corn salad which was the other side choice. I tried the fries and they were good, and the black bean corn salad was delicious! The boys loved this place since we got to eat in a "car" and they had a Tom & Jerry cartoon as one of the clips. We're definitely going back in 2012!

Enjoy WDW!!! Say hi to Mickey and Minnie for me! :goodvibes

I finally finished your TR. So many good things, that it makes me want to get back to DC.

The hot fudge sundae was really good, too :rolleyes1

Cool! I'm sure we will enjoy one of the sweet treats!

This mini trip is going to make me even more look forward to the longer one coming up this Fall! Once I get back I'll really be homesick to return!

Thanks! We're already sure we'll go back again, just don't know when. We had so long where we went nowhere, then a few years of only WDW. We have a lot of the rest of the world to catch up on! :thumbsup2

OK, so the TR is winding down so I thought I would get back to posting over here, since I am still planning a trip to WDW! But here's a quick wrap up of a week ago when we went to a Star Tours Preview Dinner. I got to ride the ride three more times that night, no pictures were allowed though.

Mostly what I have is Food Porn here, if you want to see the ride queue check out my Destination-D TR somewhere around page 9 or 10. We arrived and were immediately seated because the room was so full there was no standing and mingling space!

The menu was on the table.

The Amuse Bouche was a Lobster Ballotine with Braised Celery Root Jus, and Peppered Watercress

DSCN1489.jpg

The Appetizer was a Duck Confit and Strawberry Ravioli, Barsoom Forest Mushrooms, Spring Leek Veloute

DSCN1492.jpg

For our entrée we had a Flat Iron Steak, Heirloom Beet Ragout and Asapargus Sabayon

DSCN1493.jpg

It was perfectly cooked

DSCN1494.jpg

For Dessert we had a Chocolate Dome with Stewed Banana and Raspberry Coulis

DSCN1497.jpg

Don’t let the sloppiness of the dessert fool you, this was absolutely wonderful!

There was a speaker, but he didn’t tell me anything new that I hadn’t heard at the Destination-D presentation or seen for myself on the rides. We put on our special wrists bands since the park was closed by this time.

We got a chance for a photo op with the Storm Troopers

Then they let us go on the ride a couple times and we didn’t even have to exit the ride vehicle, they just let us go again. By the end of this night both Fran and I completely understood the different ride possibilities and options!

Ah dinner looked yummy and I love the surrendering to the stormtroopers too!

Food Porn, Star Wars and Storm Troopers......and Alison (nearly) on her knees.....what more could any PTR/TR want???? :lmao:
