Ok, my sister is part of the Wedding boards here, so I can't post this question there. That's about all the boards she checks right now. Her bf is looking for a romantic spot/way to propose to her in the parks. Any good ideas?? He's looking for 11/16-11/18 stay at the GF. The carriage ride at FW, and the Cindy's Castle dinner are all booked. V & A is out, because that is not her type of food;)

Thanks for any help. I've got a lot of usefull info off of this board lately!!

My fiance proposed in June 2002 at the California Grill during the Magic Kingdom fireworks. It was amazing. He knows how I feel about the fireworks and wanted to include them but make it romantic by having dinner and drinks. It was so perfect. He got down on one knee during the fireworks while the music piped in the restaurant. We couldn't even eat after that we were too excited! We left CG and headed to Pleasure Island (calling home first of course!). Then back at CSR we walked around the lake and eventually watched the sun rise. It was wonderful.
I would suggest anything with fireworks she will enjoy, maybe a fireworks cruise, or watching them from the Poly beach. Or a proposal at Cinderella's Royal Table, or in the Rose garden. Just a few.:)

Heh, what's wrong with the food at Victoria & Albert's? It's pricey, but the food is fabulous!
If your sister's friend needs some help in the planning department, and doesn't mind paying for the help, you might want to check out Gifts of a Lifetime. They did a wonderful job with a surprise event I did for our 25th wedding anniversary at the Magic Kingdom. I can't recommend them highly enough!

there are carriage rides at port orleans

I would vote for Victoria & Albert's. The atmosphere alone is enough to make me wish I had gotten engaged there. It is so romantic, with the harpist playing such beautiful music, definitely magical!

Tell the BF to think personal. If I were getting engaged in WDW I would absolutely want to be propsed to at Tony's. I'm sure that would not be the perfect spot for everyone, but on my first date with my now DH we shared spaghetti ala Lady and the Tramp so for me it would have to be Tony's!

What do thye love together...which movies....what things to do, etc....I think romantic is more meaningful if you really think about your partner rather than just a list of romantic spots. Hope that makes sense and helps.

2 years ago i saw one at the magic kingdom. ya know that area to the side of the castle by the water across from cosmic rays. it was an entire staffed candle-lit dinner. she was watching it all get set up and thought it was so cute then he told her it was for her. he brought her down and proposed. it was like 5 mins before tink took off for the fireworks. after she said yes they were given the wedding ears. it was so cute

My Dh proposed at Cindy's breakfast. I have always been a princess freak princess: and it was awesome. His brother arranged it with the manager and delivered the ring before our PS.
The waitress than brought the ring out on a glass slipper. So romantic.
Also it was not expensive or elaborate but from DH's heart.

How about the beach at the Poly? In their favourite restaurant? I agree think of something personal rather than elaborate.

Man, I was gonna tell you about the cute proposal one of my friends got at Cindy's, but she beat me here! :teeth: The pictures are so cute - she's wearing her princess: hat! Make sure he gives his camera to someone (waitress, a person at another table) so they can capture the moment!

;)

I forgot, the waitress also set it up by offering to take a picture of us together so it was caught on film. A man at the next table got it on his video camera and later sent us the tape ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo

Well, give us the details. Where, when and how? did it happen.

It happened 11/16 at California Grill during the Wishes fireworks!! My sis is a member here and posted a report on the wedding boards about it!! Her fiance had called and spoke w/a CM and exlpained what he wanted to do. After thinking about it awhile, he chose the CG!! He even handed a camera to a CM to take pictures. He also got a room at the GF with a *perfect* view. It looked striaght out to the Castle!!! My ds and I were there that weekend and we got to visit them in the room. We even stayed to watch Wished from their room while they were at CG!! It was amazing. He did really great!! They had a really romantic and magical time!!! He of course got down on one knee when the lights dimmed and the music started for the fireworks! She was so amazed by that , and the room. In fact, she didn't even want to leave the room and the view to go out to dinner!!! Good thing for her that she did!! Haha

I proposed to my wife 2 years ago at the rose garden adjacent to the caslte in MK. I called beforehand and it was set up with a love seat, sparkling cider in a champagne bucket, a dozen roses, chocolate truffles and an engraved glass slipper on a table. They gave us a fake invitation when we checked in to explain why we were going into a roped-off area. It was incredible. Best of all, the CM at the event took photos. If I do it right, below is a link to the photos.

Metus -

Congratulations! Those are wonderful photos, the CM did a great job capturing her expression.

I hope you both "live happily ever after", with a start like that, you certainly should:hug:

Is your sister mandasbutterfly? I remember reading about her engagement on the Resorts board and thinking how cute it was.

my dh proposed in front of the castle on sept. 8th 2001.....we had been in the park all of 10 mins and it was our first day :)

I couldn't agree more!

I don't know if my hubby realizes it, but he proposed to me near Sleepy Hollow 2 years ago *today*!!

:sigh: the things us girls remember.

No sure what kind of sister you have but how about proposing on a ride? I kind of think that would be cool but it probably won't be as romatic.
