Hi everyone, New to this forum and was hoping for some help, I'm about to give up my bachelor days and finally pop the question. I've bin to disney many times, but I can't decide we're to propose. I don't want it to be in the park as she wouldn't appreciate people looking so I was thinking of something more intermit, any ideas would be very much appreciated. I was thinking possibly going to one of the restaurants at the GF and then over to the Polynesian for wishes and do it there, but I'm open to suggestions. Thanks guys

I was recently at California Grill where I witnessed a beautiful proposal. Our waitress mentioned that the guy had called ahead and asked if he could reserve the Observation Deck for a few minutes during Wishes so he could propose. They were all very excited about it so they did block off the entrance for a few minutes while we all watched from our tables as he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him! It was really a great scene, the fireworks were going off and the music was playing and everyone cheered for them as they walked through the door to sit at their table. While they were outside, the staff quickly decorated their table with roses and champagne :) I am sure it was a really memorable experience for the two of them!

Thanks for the info, I was considering There but wasn't sure as I have only been on e many years ago and found the balcony quite crowded with people so wasn't sure if it would be a good idea or not, but I suppose best way is speaking to a few managers to see what they could do on the day

I think I read that you can arrange something in Victoria & Alberts for an engagement. For some reason, I find the Boardwalk kind of romantic even though it's got a bit of a carnival atmosphere.

My now husband proposed to me on the observation deck at California Grill several years ago. He called ahead and had everything planned out.

I think this speaks volumes. You know her better than anyone but if she doesn't want people looking, you might consider something with just the two of you with no one watching. Maybe ordering a room service breakfast or snacks in the evening and then presenting the ring in that setting.

I'm just reminded of when my son proposed to my now daughter-in-law. We were going to Disney World and my daughter-in-law thought that was where it was going to happen. We went to Daytona first for the NASCAR museum and stayed at a hotel along the beach. First night, the two of them went for a walk along the beach. She thought maybe there. No. So she thought for sure Disney World. Imagine her surprise the very next day in front of the Daytona 500 winning car at the museum, my son dropped to one knee and popped the question. She was completely blown away so surprise can be a factor.

And, BTW, the only people that witnessed this was my son, my daughter-in-law, my granddaughter (ready made at the age of 4), my husband and me.

I have read about personal wishes fireworks boat cruises on here or something like that? That would be private if you could reserve one for just you two. Never done one before just read about some on here.

I don't see my post from earlier. Must have gotten lost in cyber space. I suggested perhaps a private carriage ride where the driver stops to watch the fireworks. It's private and romantic. We did the wagon ride (many people in the wagon unlike a small carriage) and it was very nice watching the fireworks from the beach area of Fort Wilderness.

My brother did it on TOT.

And we saw a couple get engaged in Coral Reef this past Sept. It was really sweet, he got down on one knee right next to the table. Nobody really knew what was going on until she jumped up and hugged him. Then we clapped. But, it was pretty low key. So cute! And we saw a couple get engaged in front of Minnie Mouse in Pete's Silly Sideshow, just last week. Minnie was so excited, she was jumping up and down. The girl was crying and very excited and the guy had a PhotoPass guy there with him. Minnie had them take pics with her after, showing off the ring. Everyone in line started clapping and cheering. It was too cute!

Disney Florist may be able to assist with some low key ideas.

My husband proposed after Illuminations at Epcot. We were kind of off to the side back behind the Mexico pavilion. He said he almost chickened out of proposing there because he was so shy and nervous (he felt uncomfortable with the crowds). When we got back to the room, there was a lovely floral arrangement with a tiara and a glass slipper sitting in the room. That was his back up plan in case he couldn't do it in front of the crowds :)

How about sending her on a scavenger hunt throughout your resort? You could maybe start in the lobby having a CM hand her a card with instructions on where to go next. Make one stop back at your room where you have a nice, new dress laying on the bed with instructions of where to go next. A few more stops and you could end at the beach or another romantic spot at the resort. I think any girl would be silly not to love this!:goodvibes

I just proposed this past December on our first night on the vacation. I surprised her a lot. She thought we were staying at the boardwalk. When we pulled up to the GF and I told the gate guard were staying my fiancé was over the moon.

Than durning check in I told her "Oh by the way were staying 8 nights not 4". She lite up like the Christmas tree. Next I had housekeeping bring up a dress(friends helped me pick it for her) and told her to get ready because we have reservations at Victoria & Alberts.

The final surprise was proposing durning the last course. They lifted the lid on her dish and on it was a slipper with our names and the date along with large roses and a small note. After she was done reading the note I was on one knee with the ring. The V&A staff was superb and took photos durning the whole proposal which she loved.

Anyway my advise try to surprise her. PP's have listed plenty of good ideas I would take them and make them your own. Also if you do decide to go to V&A's here is the email for setting up events.

Good luck :) and congratulations.

Oh and get a memorable souvenir durning your trip(or 5).

If you dont want a ton of people looking at you while you do it what about when you go into see a princess at fairytale hall? Or you can slip a note to a cast member asking to help you out when you see tinkerbell at her magical nook? I heard sombody get proposed to at turtle talk with crush and at the monsters inc laugh factory because you can text in questions

I would suggest something on the Boardwalk, so many places to do it privately and lots of fireworks in the background if you do it right!
