Here are two words from a Greek story my daughter is reading, tell me how you think they are pronounced!

Daedalus (day-del-us) or (dead-a-lus) or whatever option you come up with.

Minos- (mine-os) or (Mee-nos) or another option you come up with.

Thanks!

From dictionary.com
daedalus - ded-l-uhs
minos - mahy-nuhs

As for how I pronounce them, more along the lines of Day-duh-lus & Mee-nos
So apparently, I've been wrong on these for a while. :)

I always heard/pronounced them as "Day-del-us" and "My-nos".

That's how they are pronounced.

Day-del-us and Mine-os.

That's how my Greek Mythology professor pronounced them in college.

I always learned day-de-lus and my-nos.

Don't know if you remember the move Space Camp, but there was an international space station in that movie, and it's name was Daedalus, and they also pronounced it day-de-lus.
