Ok lets get a thread going about those of us going down to project X in June

where are you staying, what day are you coming in to Fl, what events r u planning on attending? Are you coming alone or with friends or family?

All that kinda stuff
next thing you know it will June!!
Well I am going alone. My DH doesnt wanna go and I DO hahhaaaa
I am currently researching a resort. I wanna stay deluxe and recently got an email from diseny with a great code so I was sooo happy. I am gonna have a roomie that I met here on the DIS so this very cool indeed and it will save me some $$$$

I was thinking of coming down on the 16th
and leaving depending on what day and time the last event is
I will probably fly jet blue good prices and theres nothing on southwest yet
I plan on attending the April boston dismeet to meet and hopefully make more friends
Im also trying to figure out if I wanna rent a car i have never done disney without a car i find it soooo much faster than taking the buses

soo what is everyone elses plan???

no tours as kids are not 16 yet

We will be there too! It will be me, DH, and twin DDs (11).

We are going to the Illuminations Buffet and the Safari Dinner. If the Adventurer's Club gets enough, we will go to that too.

We are staying at Old Key West starting Saturday, June 18th and leaving in the morning on Tuesday June 21st. We may be staying at one of the moderate resorts on Friday night, but I haven't decided yet.

I would like to fly in if Southwest has good rates, but they aren't out yet. We may be driving.

No tours for us either since my girls are 11.

Penny is so wonderful to organize all of this, I hope it goes smoothly. I am really excited that she was able to work out both the Illuminations Buffet and the Safari Dinner thing.

You do realize you are posting this on the Project X Dis Meet thread, right? So the people on this thread are the people who are already going (and so far, there aren't many who have joined this thread, I just found it today).

I hope Penny gets more responses, but she has done a great job of getting the Illuminations Buffet AND a Safari Dinner arranged for us. I am just thrilled that we are going to the AK event after all (even if it isn't quite what Penny had planned to begin with). She hasn't given up hope for the AC event, if she gets more people and the date is still open, she wants to do it.

Let's cross our fingers that all will fall into place. I'm sure it wil be fun no matter what events we go to.

I hope a few more people join us on this thread. I think Penny is taking a break for awhile, I wrote her a note about the AK Dinner and she hasn't read it yet, so I am assuming she is relaxing a bit this week as she tries to figure everything out.

Are the rest of you planning to do both the Illuminations and AK Safari Dinner?

DH and I decided that we would like to stay out of the theme parks this summer (too hot and crowded). We want to go to the events Penny set up and visit Blizzard Beach for the first time (crowded, but not as hot) and then do some pool hopping (we are DVC members staying at OKW) and try out some restaurants we haven't been to yet.

What are the rest of you planning? Any good ideas? I had thought about trying Cirque on Friday night if AC thing doesn't happen, but someone said it was closed that week. But I am sure we can find other things to do.

I'm having cabin fever this week, so a trip to Disney sounds SO good right now! I can't wait!

No! We have threaten leaving them behind (if they fight too much in the car), but in all honesty, it just isn't DISNEY without the kids (at least for us). This will be our last time there while they are 11 and therefore our last time doing Character meals or buffets (the price goes up to adult rate at 12 and my kids do not eat enough to pay those prices).

We are going to Chef Mickey's for the first time!

Also, we just got the newest issue of Dinsey magazine today, and it said there will be a new water coaster ride at TL, so we may be heading there instead of BB for our day at the water park.

The kids would like to go to the parks, and DH and I have said that if the temperatures get into the 80's with low humidity, we can go, otherwise we are hanging out at the pools and waterparks (we will be back in March 2006, so we can go to the new things for the 50th anniversary then).

Great! Another 11 Girl! My girls will be thrilled to hear there are other girls their age at these things.

We just booked our airfare this morning. We have a rule of thumb that if we can get round trip for $150 each, we fly, otherwise we drive. Well just today we got $148 round trip each!!!! I am SO thrilled. I was dreading that long drive! We had to change our arrival date to Thursday though because it was cheaper than Friday (and if Penny does get enough for the AC event, we want to go---we have never been there).

I went ahead and booked at Pop Century and will upgrade to CBR if codes come out (for our first 2 nights, then we move to OKW on points). We wanted to make sure we could at least get a AAA rate at a value (and the word on the resorts board is that the AAA rates are getting harder to get, and that the value resorts are starting to fill up). I am hoping we can move to CBR because we have never stayed there and we have stayed at Pop. But we will see. The rumor is there should be code out in March.

Now when I book a resort we haven't stayed in, I get lots of feedback and go there knowing exactly which buildings are acceptable for our stay!

Looks like a pretty good size bunch of 11 y/o girls will be there!! My dd will also be thrilled. Wish we could do the AK dinner, but dh is really hesitant about spending $60 per person. I hoped that when it changed from around $100 it would make a difference, but....not yet. Ah well. We'll have to be happy with the IlluminNations Dessert Party. Would have loved AC but we don't arrive until Sat morning. Are there any tours that might be fun to do with the girls? We've been to WDW a lot at this point and I'm sure dd thinks she could lead a tour herself, but it would be nice to do something like that for a change. Any suggestions?

We would drive too if we were that close. Actually, I coud probably handle up to 12 hours because we could actually be 'there' the same day, but two days in the car with the girls is a bit much.

I read on the resorts board to ask for Jamacia. We are only staying there 2 nights (if we get codes, otherwise we are at POP). So it shouldn't be too bad. We actually want to spend time wandering around new resorts, so I am sure we will enjoy it since it will be our first time there.

We'll be at the Illuminations party! We get in on the 18th and leave the following Saturday. We already had everything booked for this week before Project X was even announced. My DH has a convention to go to at the end of the week.
