Project X thread whose going June 17 thru 20th

I'll be there with my best friend (its her first trip) June 18-21. Havent sent in any deposit yes as I just found out she would actually be able to get off work. Anyway we plan on attending the Illuminations dessert party, and the AK event.

I thought I'd already responded to this thread, but I'm not here so it must have been a different one. As soon as I saw Penny's original post, I booked WL from 6/17 to 6/20. I invited a friend to join me and she's got the vacation time, so we'll be there. We've sent in our deposits for every event. I'm also looking forward to doing one of the tours.
This is going to be so much fun. Can't wait to meet all of you!

I just LOVE WL! My family is torn between BCV and VWL as our favorites for our DVC points. Unfortunately, I didn't have many points left this year, so we won't be staying at either one. We did stay there last summer and had a great time! The Whispering Canyon Cafe was a hoot! We also went to the Hoop Dee Doo!

Glad you are joining us! I'm so glad Penny put this all together. We can't wait!

VWL is our home resort. You don't feel like your in the middle of WDW when you're staying there.
The only time we've done the Hoop Dee Doo, DW was pulled into the act. It was great to see her up there in her can-can outfit.

Ok lets get a thread going about those of us going down to project X in June

where are you staying, what day are you coming in to Fl, what events r u planning on attending? Are you coming alone or with friends or family?

All that kinda stuff

Well I am going alone. My DH doesnt wanna go and I DO hahhaaaa
I am currently researching a resort. I wanna stay deluxe and recently got an email from diseny with a great code so I was sooo happy. I am gonna have a roomie that I met here on the DIS so this very cool indeed and it will save me some $$$$

I was thinking of coming down on the 16th
and leaving depending on what day and time the last event is
I will probably fly jet blue good prices and theres nothing on southwest yet
I plan on attending the April boston dismeet to meet and hopefully make more friends
Im also trying to figure out if I wanna rent a car i have never done disney without a car i find it soooo much faster than taking the buses

Basically, one of the webmasters (WebmasterPenny) decided to organize some events that you can normally only do as a group, and asked others to join in. We had hoped to have enough people to have a private party at the Adventurers Club (for a family friendly program), but she didn't get enough for that. So right now, we have an area reserved in France for Saturday night (6/18) for an Illuminations Buffet. Penny is also looking into registering us as a Grand Gatherings so we have the option of signing up for those events also (there must be at least 8 people from the group attend a GG in order to be able to go).

Anyway, the link will take you to the thread that has all of the information about it. Let Penny know if you want to join us!

Just wondering if anyone else is doing the special admission for the Dessert Buffet on Saturday.

I hope Penny tells us where to meet and how this works. We decided we wanted to 'relax' during the day and go sailing and then swimming at Boardwalk before going over for Illuminations. We will do our park day on Sunday.

Did you get to see the Regis & Kelly show? I was watching it and thinking of you (of course, I don't know what you look like, so if you were there, I wouldn't have known it) .

It really is getting close isn't it! I got out our suitcases last weekend, but won't start packing until after Memorial Day (my sister is visiting and I use the guest room for packing, so I have to wait until there are no guests in the guest rooms ).

Yes! I was at the Wed 5/11 R&K show! I met Dawgsgirl and her Mom on the bus to MK and we stood in line together - by the time they let us in, we were "old friends"!!! We had great seats - about 14 or so rows back on the aisle. I made it on TV a couple times and it was easy for me to spot myself - besides my lime green shirt, the lady 2 rows in front of me had on a lime green hat!!! (she didn't act like a DISer so who knows! But she sure looked stylish!)

I'll leave the packing until a day or 2 before; we gotten pretty good at it and can throw the whole thing together in a couple hours!!!

Are you doing ME? If you are, pack HEAVY and just put the swimsuits and things you'll want right away in a carry-on. I hear people say all the time how they hate checking luggage, but when I fly I ALWAYS check my bags! I always bring enough for the entire trip so I don't *have to* do laundry (although I usually end up doing a load or 2 mid-way thru the trip anyway!)

We are renting a car because we are moving around a lot and ending up at Vero Beach eventually. I will probably pack heavy because I just can't seem to convince the girls they don't need all the STUFF they want to bring. I also like having a suitcase with snacks that empties out for the things we buy to bring home.

It would just be so nice to not have to deal with luggage! Oh well. We are going to TL, so we all need swimsuits, beach towels and water shoes, that that sort of ruins any thoughts of packing light anyway (I know we can rent towels at TL, but we want to bring our own so we can use them at Vero Beach also).
