Project Runway - Season 3 Official Thread (SPOILERS!!!)

I am between Uli and Michael.

I think top 3 will be Uli, Michael and Laura. But I could be wrong

Jennasis -- loved your commentary and thought you were on the nose w/it! The only thing I would've added would be under the Uli commentary ... she needs to stop doing the same dress w/the same back. I feel like she keeps rehashing that design for some reason!!! Didn't Tim even say "We've seen this from you before"!?!? Or am I wishful thinking?!

Kayne ... what happened?! Was he channeling Elvis and Liberace!? Terrible! He better get w/it b/c his recycling project and the jet setter project were awful!!!!

Michael -- I think he's going to win!!!!

I've never been to Fire Island or Provincetown. Would Kayne's outfit have fit the flamboyant gay lifestyle? I don't know. I don't want to say this wrong or offend anyone, but you know that in each group of people, there are those that conform to society's "norms" and those who are outside of the box, like the gothic look, for example, or grunge. Kayne's outfit seems like it would have fit in with some of the people at the Babylon on Queer as Folk, but not with some of the others. KWIM? Just like Jeffrey's didn't fit in with "normal" clothing standards, but it fit him perfectly. Kayne's seemed to fit his personality, too. I can't fault him for that.

I hope that Michael wins. He seems to have the vision to make coture (sp?) as well as ready to wear. He's got an awesome personality to go along with his talent, too. I think Vince will go to the finals, just like Wendy Pepper and just like Santino. I think Jeffrey will do well for himself with the exposure that the show has given him with the type of clients who'd like his style. Laura cleans up nicely when she's not wearing that severe ponytail, but I like Uli's styles better, even if they have all been similar. If she can break out of her one trick box, I think she'll make the final 3.

So, Michael, Uli and Vince in the final 3 is my thought. Kayne could be the 4th, just like Austin Scarlett.

I just think Vincent does not have dress pattern making and execution skills, Laura does, but she really needs to break out of her ultra conserative style. If Uli cheanges up the next 2 she's in (her skills are good too- and Michael has mad skills too). Sorry seeking Vincent basically coping a pair of pants he had was not good in my opinion.

another michael fan here he is so smart and really thinks about what he is doing and making
i hope he wins

I missed this week's episode because I flew to Florida for a wedding (we took her to DTD and Pleasure Island for the bachelorette party!) I just got home and watched my tape and was thrilled to see Angela is finally gone!

Thank goodness Angela was finally auf'd! Those stupid rosettes are not a good idea! You will never see them on a real runway! It must have killed her to see Jeffrey win.

I'm still loving Jeffrey. This was his episode! Paris, a win, and Angela going home!

Laura's runway hairstyle needs to become her everyday hairstyle. She looked soft, young, and lovely. Her dress was beautiful.

Michael continues to impress me each week! I hope he wins.

Uli needs to prove she can do more than printed boho-ish halter dresses.

Vincent--though boring, at least his design didn't resemble modern art.

Kayne-- if he doesn't step it up, he's going to be gone next week!

My ideal top three at this point would be Michael, Uli, and Jeffrey.

OK, midway through tonight's show and I love some of the dresses and hate some of the others. Overall, though, I have to say that Vincent is driving me crazy tonight. What an insecure suck-up he is!

:Pinkbounc Vincent is gone!

Why does Uli use braiding, cording, and roping on all of her designs? Is she sending a private shout out to her secret S & M club! It's beginning to irritate me as much as Angela's granny circles. :teeth:

Lori

Did anyone feel Vincent was "gone" as soon as Tim caught him gluing things? :rotfl:

I'm not a big fan of yellow plaid, but Jeffrey's design was the most "different" of the bunch, so I have no problem with the win. Haute Couture is all about thinking out of the box while still producing a well sewn garment.

I agree that I've seen Laura's design before...heck, I may even have worn it myself! (Not the original, but a cheap knock-off. :rotfl: )

Kayne! Didn't anyone ever tell you that sometimes less is more?

Was anyone else amazed at how much better Michael's gown looked after the guest judge told him to "tuck it in?" Too bad it wasn't presented that way initially; he might have won.

At least Uli didn't use a print. I thought the bodice was too nude appearing. From a distance, it looked as if the model was wearing pasties. :rotfl: Otherwise, I thought it was lovely, even though too typically Uli.

glad vincents gone
and i voted for michael several times on the bravotv site
i really hope he wins
i think laura or kaynes next

With every episode we like Laura less and less. I am SO ready for that woman to be Auf'd. Gee, was there any surprise that her dress would have the front cut down to the navel?

There is only one person left with versatility - Michael.

Kayne seems like a nice guy but so flamboyant and over the top

Jeffery - how the heck did that plaid mess win?? But still, you can always tell what outfit he did without being told. The majority of the stuff he makes would never sell to regular people.

Laura - tied for biggest one trick pony of the season

Uli - does nice stuff but it's all the same! The other biggest one trick pony of the season.

We were sad to see Vincent go purely for entertainment factor. He was a neurotic mess but funny to watch.

Right now the only one that really deserves to go to Fashion week is Michael. Can you imagine if Laura and Uli make it to Fashion week? We will see a runway full of 12 of the same outfits in different colors (or prints for Uli) :rotfl:

Clearly, I am not "fashion forward" but I HATED Jeffrey's dress. How was it made--everytime the model took a step, it opened to her waist--I kept thinking they were going to have to pixilate her groin area! I can't imagine anyone-real person, celebrity, etc wearing that thing.

I am guessing Kayne will go next week--I just don't know if Laura's one trick pony will beat Uli's one trick pony or not.

Jeffrey's dress looked fun on the runway, but plaid cotton is not my idea of haute couture. :confused3 I was disappointed in Michael's dress (he's my fave). I liked Uli's dress. Although Kayne's dress was flashy, I liked it. I especially loved the back of the dress. :thumbsup2

I don't know... I'm starting to re-think my choices for the last 3: Michael, Uli and Jeffrey! :bitelip:

I just found this thread so I'm sorry I'm joining late.
I HATE Jeffrey! He was so mean to Angela's mother and he's so odd. I don't care for his designs at all.
I really hope Michael wins it all.

Vincent Vincent Vincent...it's about time! Man was he annoying! I don't care how much you "get off" on your nutty fashion designs, you had to go. That dress was just atrocious. The skirt?? Somewhere there is a couch saying "is it cold in here"?

Say what you will, I like Kaynes dress the best. I like how he changed up the lace back for the American model too. Maybe it was a but overdone, but the skirt was GORGEOUS. Heck I think I might've worn that if I could fit in it!

I thought Angela scraped by with her Morticia Adams dress. Or was it Queen Elizabeth? Either way it was just garish and old timey. Not good.

Uli's was definitely an Uli. She may not have used a print, but it was the same dress she's been designing since day one. I like it, but she needs to try a new direction with her design.

I guess I don't get fasion cause I thought Jefferey's was HORRENDOUS. Yellow plaid cotton? Oh no he didn't! Barf...glad he doens't have immunity. He's still a hiney-hole.

Michael was so close to ebing awesome. But I LOVE that he recognized his own shortcomings. He doesn't make excuses, he's willing to learn and try new things. He is just amazing. I almost cried whne the French guy threw eggs at them.

Think Demi Moore in a dress cut like Jeffrey's, back in the 80's? and wearing shorts with a skirt attached to the Oscars! ANyone remember that one? Yikes!

I didn't hate Jeffrey's dress, but it was wierd. However, isn't most haute couture (wierd)? Final three. He is always entertaining.

I loved the IDEA of Kayne's dress, but he has too much going on most of the time. Think back to his Marylyn Monroe dress and his dress he made for the beauty queen. Those were beautiful and fabulous! Gone soon if not next.

Laura has got to go, looks like next week she breaks down and says, "I just can't design dresses/outfits for the Olsen twins!" Her dress last night definitely looked so much better in Paris than in NY. She can construct/sew but her imagination is nonexistant. Gone soon if not next.

I liked Uli's dress, it was her, but the bodice was much more fitted and had lots of detail (beading). Final three, we will see 13 same looking gypsy dresses.

Michael, Michael, Michael... He will be final three but I was disappointed in his creation last night.

Buh buy Vinnie!

I was disappointed in all the dresses last night-maybe it's just too hard to make couture in two days.

I thought Michael's had the most potential-especially after he tucked in those "bunny ears" on the front. I think that dress would be flattering to different body types-all the attention was focused on the bust, which is flattering to most women. I think it would have been beautiful if he had the time to finish it properly. I felt that it was unfair for the guest judge to blame Michael for the egg being thrown on his dress!

I thought the front of the bodice of Kayne’s dress was pretty-the lace up in the back was just too over the top for my taste. The skirt flowed beautifully.

Laura's dress was too boring-something an aging grande dame would wear. I can't imagine being a beautiful, tall model and wanting to cover my arms w/ long sleeves.

Jeffrey's dress was interesting but I can't see a real woman wanting to wear it. For that matter, I can't even picture a movie star wearing it to the Academy Awards. I thought Jeffrey was more likeable this episode.

Vincent's dress was terrible. Those sleeves were awful. I thought the fabrics he picked were interesting and he could have made a beautiful, classy dress. What was that round thing that he glued on the back of the dress? I guess Angela's influence rubbed off on him.

I love Oli and thought her dress was pretty. It was a little boring and would only look good on tall, thin women, but the designers are only interested in tall, thin women anyway!

I can't wait until next week!

Vincent is such a suck up. Hilarious watching him schmooze on the boat.

I liked the guest judge. Very tough critic. Lot better than the guy from Calvin Klein last week who liked Vincent's boring black jetsetter pieces.

Jeffrey's model won the challenge for him with her strutting down the runway.
I don't understand the criticism for Kayne's dress where Jeffrey's was all over the place. Jeffrey could move to France and be a rock star (stranger talking to him in the subway was funny).

Why bother with teasing me on next week's episode when Laura gives the theme away in her rant.

I have an urge to go to Paris now.
