Project Runway - Season 3 Official Thread (SPOILERS!!!)

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who liked Kayne's dress. I really couldn't understand why the judges were SO negative about it.

They tell him there is "too much going on" and then they elect that plaid yellow thing with all the dangly stuff and the slit up to the hoo ha as the winner? :confused3

Well it was unique I guess, they did ask for unique.

How did Jeffery win?!? It reminded me of the bed sheet togas we'd wear in Latin class when we would have Saturnalia parties.. only chopped up and sewn in random places

I thought Laura's dress was very simple... to me it was just a black dress with a big puffy collar... Goofygirl - I totally agree! It would fit in very well at the Mummers Parade!

I thought Kayne's dress was georgous.. the corset was beautiful, the strappy-tie things in the back were beautiful.. I think it was very classy - not out of taste as Nina and Michael implied x__X

Jeffery is this season's Chloe.. According to Nina Garcia everything he does turns beautiful.. :faint: (I really don't like Nina - can you tell?)

Jeff's dress was busy, but it all meshed. It's not a look for everyone, but very little in the world of couture is. It was the only dress I found to be original, creative and interesting. It wasn't fabulous, but he absolutely deserved to win. He didn't have any competition.

Kayne's dress had waaaaay too many features going on in the same dress. The color and detail of the skirt was beautiful, but in combination with the glitter, lace appliqué, ribbon appliqué, silk laced gold corset, it was too much. Way too much.

Uli's was same dress, different color. Boring.

Laura's dress seriously looked like something from my grandmother's closet, but most of her clothes do. Nothing wrong with that, if you're a grandma. ;)

Michael's was so poorly made and designed. If Vincent had sewn that couch cover to fit his model better, I would have expected Michael to go home this week.

I'll miss Kayne if he's auf'd. I just love the way he says, "gorgeous." I'd love to have him follow me around for a day and just tell me everything that I do is "gorgeous, sister." :thumbsup2 What an upper!

There is an interview on ew.com with Vincent. After reading it, all I can say is WOW! He is seriously in love with himself. I find it interesting that someone offered him the exact same amount of money that the winner of PR3 gets, to open his own line/store. I think the money would be better spent on Dr visits to get help with his obsession with himself.

Ok - so I don't get why Kayne's stuff is always "tacky" and Jeffery's is "avant-garde." How is a yellow plaid ball gown not "tacky?" (I acutally kind of liked Jeffry's dress but if Kayne's was tacky than so was his.) I actually went to FIT and I still can't wrap my mind around some of the dictates of high fashion.

To me all of Kayne's work has been on the garish and tacky side, including the pagent dress he won that episode with. He really needs to learn to stop adding and adding and adding elements and pick one or two directions to focus on.

I also didn't consider Jeffrey's dress a gown. It was a party dress.

It was a table cloth with a belt.

I agree! I also liked Kayne's dress. I was worried at first (looking only at the bodice), but the final product was gorgeous.

Did the dress that Jeffrey made remind anyone else of something that Santino would have made? I thought Jeffrey's dress was much busier than Kayne's.

I just have to add that I think this is the best season, yet! I love watching all the reruns they show on Bravo! :cool1: Oh, just to add - Project Runway was renewed for another season!

5 minutes until the start of the new episode this week! Wonder why Laura loses her composure in this episode? We'll soon see.....

What happened? I missed the first couple of minutes. Why are they back?

Thank goodness I was checking the dis and saw this thread pop up! I almost forgot that it was Wed.

They are brought back for this challange and must win it to stay in - 3 people are going home tonight (Angela and Vincent if they don't win and someone else; if one does win, it'll be the other and two other designers)

Was there some kind of mistake or something unfair that happened to bring them back? Or, was it just a twist in the show?

So will next week be the reunion and then the week after that be the finale? Good thing Bravo reruns everything 5 billion times because I'm going to miss the next 2 weeks!
