Project Runway - Season 3 Official Thread (SPOILERS!!!)

Does anyone know if there were two episodes of Project Runway shown yesterday? I saw another one aired right after the newest episode, but my Tivo didn't tape it :(

Thanks!

Deb

Gotta say it...I LOVE Kayne! He cracks me up and his outfits are fun (if not wearable by the public at large)

I think they ran a marathon of shows yesterday because I watched part of season 2 when I was home for lunch. I thought they kept advertising that the rerun of Workout was on at 11 after PR. I fell asleep right after.

Only one new episode was shown last night. They did show that new episode 3 times though.

I didn't like Angela's Audrey Hepburn dress at all.. it wasn't very Audrey Hepburn at all and I didn't think it was that pretty otherwise.. the pattern on the material wasn't "modern" or whatever she said.. and it just looked bunchy in the middle

I'm not sure about Michael's design.. I don't know that many people that would go out and buy a magenta outfit hot pants :confused3 haha! I'm not a fan of his super sexy, strappy, tight stuff in the first place, but he does have his own point of view as a designer and you can see it in everything he makes.

I love Kayne - I loved the dress.. beautiful!

Robert.. i-yi-yi *shakes head*.. I had a heart attack again last night when he was in the bottom 2... I think he could have made the blue work.. oy vey! And I don't like his model.. her face, her hair.. it's thin, but shelled out to look big and it has that thin twist curl at the end - ick! Not a "model" as I see one.. JMHO

Bradley.. I liked him.. he kind of reminded me of a Viggo Mortensen.. talented at what he does, but kind of quirky and shy.. but funny.. "I'm a squid with no ocean. I'm an eagle with no sky" :lmao: So random.. I love it! He will be missed by me

My family and I loved Michael's outfit and Kayne's dress. I'll miss the quirky Bradly.

We were surprised by Robert! He seems tired instead of inspired.

So on the next challenge (regardless of the details) who do we think is the most likely to go home?? I think Vincent.

Just in case you are interested,
Katherine Gerdes (who left after the 'dog' challenge) is watching the show and trying to complete the challenges that she missed. She's one week behind the show and is trying to follow the same constraints/rules as the remaining contestants had to.
This is a link to her first design after being 'auf'ed'.link to her first design after being "auf'ed".
Here's a link to the I.N.C challenge on her website.

Thanks for the links, SueM! Her Miss USA dress is lovely. I also really liked her INC jacket. Good for Katherine!

I'm glad Michael won. It may not be an outfit that I ever could/would wear, but he really thought about his icon, and I could see her wearing it. He is very talented. Kayne used to be my favorite, but he's getting quite the attitude, and not for the better. The look on his face when they announced Michael as the winner...you'd think he'd just suck on a lemon, lol.
It is getting to be that whomever they spend the most time on, that designer either wins or gets aufed.
I'm sooo addicted, as are my 2 DDs!

I'm also thrilled that Michael won. I think he's a great designer.

I'll miss Bradley for his quirky sense of humor...I loved his little speech when he was auf'd = "This is high fashion...and I made a tinker toy!"

I missed the beginning of the show, so I missed the sewing machine fight. Anyone care to fill me in??

I heard her interviewed on a local Minneapolis/St. Paul radio station. I was an interesting interview and I really thought it was cool that she planned to keep 'playing' even though she was voted off.

I can't believe the judges still like Laura. She was wearing practically the same thing standing next to her model. She's been making the same thing for every challenge. High waisted, deep v cleavage.

I love that Vincent said, "Stick some Harry Winstons, up your nose." I don't even know why he said it yet.

She seems like kind of a one trick pony. She was even picking stuff up at the recycling plant and talking about making fir trim out of it. So far she has just done one look over and over.

I totally agree. I like Laura's designs, but she has not been challenged yet. I am bored with her.

And can someone explain why Vincent is still in this competition. What was that dress? Just awful. The judges seem to favor him. Both Nina and Michael just backed down and didn't really get on him about his design.

I am glad that Michael won, but, I liked Jeffrey's design better. I thought it was innovative and really fit the challenge. He should have won.

I can't believe that Alison is gone. She did make one ugly dress tonight, but I thought overall she had a lot of talent. She probably should have stuck with her first attempts at a skirt made out of that striped paper. Now, why they keep Vincent or Angela around is beyond me.

Tonight was a tough call for me. Usually I am pretty decided on who I think should win and lose. Tonight I thought Jeffrey deserved to win, even though Michael's dress was quite pretty. I just thought Jeffrey should have won. He seemed to put so much effort into it and it was very fabric-like.

By the way, what are "Harry Winstons"???

I think Harry Winston is a jewelry designer. Doesn't he always loan the diamond jewelry for the award shows? I can almost hear Joan or Melissa Rivers asking if the diamonds are Harry Winston. I could be wrong though.

Harry Winston was a famous jeweler. He donated the Hope Diamond to the Smithsonian. I haven't really noticed, does Laura have lots of bling?

Laura sure is mean, but she is talented. I couldn't believe she was so mouthy to Kane. She was sitting there telling him she was "concerned" about all of his designs, and he almost won the challenge last week with his Marilyn Monroe dress! I love Kane, it's too bad he had such a bad night tonight.

Did anyone else feel sorry for Allison's model? They were talking about her like she was fat, and she's probably a size 2!

You are correct! Harry winston is a jewler to the stars. So it was like saying stick some huge diamonds up your nose. Which doesn't make sense really, but it was amazing.

I think the reason Michael and Nina couldn't go after Vincent anymore was because he had full confidence (real or fake) in his design. They wouldn't get him to back down. I bet there is probably more conversation about that dress edited out, but really he's just going to say he loves it and that it's great and you can't change his mind. Jeffrey annoys me, but that' s my own personal issue. I hate that they kept saying he Troumpe L'oeil-ed that belt. He painted it on. It wasn't like he made it look like a 3d fountain was sprouting out of her dress. It was a painted on belt! The dress was really neat, but it was in the words of Michael Kors, beautiful/ugly.

I forgot to mention that I get those advertised text messages and the only one that was really interesting was about angela. Angela thought that Alison's outfit was "Completely inspired and couture."
