Hi everyone! I am looking up PIs and they sound AWESOME (especially the education ones...). I think I've read before that it's possible to do one of these even if you've graduated college, as long as you apply while you're still in the CP. Like, after I graduate this coming May, and while I'm working the Fall 2011 CP (hopefully:rolleyes1 ), would it be possible for me to apply to do a PI for the spring, even though I've already graduated? Does that make any sense? Please help!

I don't know the answer but I am curious about this as well. I know people who have done that (did a PI after a CP that was completed the semester after they graduated) so I assume that you can... but then the PI listings say you have to be in college. Or at least most of the ones I looked at did. So if someone could clarify... that would be great! :D

Some Disney Professional Internship opportunities do consider ongoing participation in the Disney College Program to be equivalent of school attendance.

You would need to refer to the Job Posting of the position in question to determine whether it applies in that particular instance.

If you graduate in May, go straight into the Fall/FA program, then you are still eligible for the Spring PIs. That's exactly what I'm doing!
I graduated May '10, on the FA '10, and applied a Spring '11 PI. I even emailed to make sure I was eligible because it says you must be a junior/senior/take classes the semester before you apply. In disney's eyes, I'm stil considered a student because I went straight into the CP from graduating.

I also graduated in May, am on the Fall CP now, and have applied for Spring 2011 PIs.

I went to the professional internship info session last month. They said every internship is open to anyone on the CP if you have the other needed qualification. When an internship says "currently a junior or senior" it means that those who have graduated can apply too.

I have also heard about the Advantage + PI = over one year. However during the info session, they it is untrue. If you are in the Advantage program, you can still go for a PI. This is the only expectation for the one year rule.

I've been wondering about the same situation since it will be just like mine. Can one apply for a Spring '12 PI while on the Fall '11 CP? I have been following when PI listings roll out and the bulk of them seem to roll out when each CP session begins.

So my question is how does it work, if you apply for a PI following your CP which requires CP experience beforehand and one is just starting their CP?

I believe you have to have finished a college program before you can apply for the alumni PI's.. :(. It would be best to check with you recruiter before apply, they would probably have all the answers because I believe they do some of the interviews for PI's as well.

You're fine. By the time you'd start a PI your CP would be completed, meeting the requirement!

Thank you both for answering my question. I was trying to wrap my head around that one since I read many accounts of people doing a PI directly after their CP.

So I guess the interviewer would allow for the lack of experience to be gained in time.
