Problems for Disney's Magical Express?

What is ironic is that the cruise line has done this from day 1, of course, you need to pay for the service.

Some people use the service, others use other options. I guess it was a win for all since the cruise line brought extra people, and while some of those did use Disney, others used other options.

Taking the Disney greeters away won't solve the issue of 5,000 people using the service daily. How many of the 5,000 wasn't already book for the program. I would suspect just a handful. In that case, maybe they will get one or two more fares here or there ... but the main or bulk of the problem won't go away.

Just like that nice 8 plex movie theatre. When a new 15 plex is built across the street, it has a drastic impact. But that is competion.

It's impacted the rental car companies too ... but we haven't seen there law suit yet.

I tried the mears shuttle once before. This was way before ME was even thought of. I paid $70.00 or so for 3 seats and it took 1.5 hours to get there because you stop several times and wait before you even leave the airport. I now need 4 seats and when it's not free anymore that will be $80.00 That was until I found FLTours. They are a sponsor of the DIS board and the best car service I have ever used. It's only $60.00 for a one way to the resorts and I think $110.00 round trip. This way I don't have to listen to my kids asking when will get there, bathroom requests, and crying for 1.5 hours. And it would only cost me $30.00 extra. When you've already laid out 1-5 thousand for a vaction $15.00 each way for a little peace of sanity is cheap.

Good to know - we'll use them next time! We tried Happy limo and they didn't show up last time, and did not return repeated calls from the airport - we waited for 30 minutes. (we even had the emailed confirmation from them - so I'm sure we made the reservation) Needless to say, it "stressed me out" :rotfl: Luckily, we just rented a car from National - but it's good to know of a good limo company - I had almost given up!

If not for ME i would be driving into Disney, Let the airport think about that if they think there losing revenue. The savings of not renting a car or limo made me decide to Fly instead of driving.

We used Mears ONCE and it was AWFUL! The next time we used a limo service (can't remember which one) but it was great - a real limo and nice driver. Last time we used Tiffany- the driver was late, and then spent the ENTIRE time talking on his cell phone. It was just a regular car and he had trouble fitting our two suitcases and two carryons into the trunk and car! This time we will use ME. IF Tiffany had been better, we would have paid for the service again, worrying that the ME would be as bad as Mears was!

wow!!!! Seems like a mess don't it??? I definately agree with the other poster who said that there is no way that they can tell people who don't already have a reservation that they can't get a ride on the ME. I mean come on, if I am getting off of a plane, I can take whatever transportation that I feel like!!!!!

On another note, we are staying at the Swan on the 27-29th right before we get on the lovely, just finished dry-docking MAGIC!!!! Can I use the ME from MCO to get to the Swan since it is really Sheraton, and not "Official" Disney property?

Thanks,

Lynne
