Problems booking Dining Plan

Has anyone ever encountered issues booking a dining plan after they have booked their hotel stay with what Disney calls the "convention" rate? Any suggestions on how to deal with this?

Where are u staying and did u purchase tickets to the parks? The reason I ask is that in order to qualify for the dining plan Disney does have guidelines. Need a little more info to answer properly.

If you booked through the room block, you can't add the dining plan.

You can book outside of the room block and get the dining plan and have the reservation applied to the block manually. Any of our guests who wanted the dining plan did this instead.
