If you are paying cash, not insurance, how does this work. Do you bring cash/check in an envelope and give it to them at the start of the session?????????????

It depends on the doctor. If you are paying out of pocket, you need to call up the doctor's office and ask how much it will cost per session. Some doctors offer a discount for people who are uninsured and can pay in full. My doctors accept checks, cash, and debit/charge cards. :) I pay OOP for everything because I am uninsured.

It's like any other money transaction. You do not have to put in in an envelope. They should even be able to provide change if you need it.

A doctor I went to did not accept insurance. He clearly stated, when you called, the cost of the session. Payment was made after the session was over. Any form of payment could be used.

I usually pay by check at the end of the session.

Well even though mine is paid for through insurance, I still have a co-pay for every session for which payment is accepted by any form at the end of the session. Usually she's filling out the card with my next appt time, turns to me and asks "How are we paying today?"
