Princesses don't hit, kick or spit! A May/June TR Update 10/17 Snow White Theme Night

Great pics! :) I'm way too chicken to even go near EE!!! I would love to try Kali but not sure if I'd want to risk getting that soaked! :lmao:

Oh I Love EE! It is defintely one of my top rides at WDW! Kali is something I suggest to people only if it's really hot so you will dry quickly! And don't wear clothes that will show more than you want to when they get wet :rotfl2:

Great update! I love FOTLK photos. Everest is also one of my favorites.
The Kali photos are too cute with the kids all wet!

Thanks! I'm hoping by my next trip that I'll have learned the settings on my camera so maybe I can get some better pics at FOTLK!

We finally got around to doing another theme afternoon/night. :yay:The kids have been asking almost every morning if we were doing a movie day that day so since it has been so gosh darn hot outside I decided to make a good excuse for staying inside all day.

The movie was Pirates of the Caribbean, Curse of the Black Pearl pirate: We started off with decorating, Sam gathered up some of his POTC toys that were in his room, I know we have a ton more in the playroom somewhere but the thought of going through the toys boxes down there looking for them was not something I looked forward to so we made do with what he could gather. Sam also dressed in his Jack Sparrow costume and Emily wore her Ariel costume because of the mermaids that are in POTC 4.

Then it was movie time, Christian and I were really looking forward to watching the movie because it has been years since we'd seen this. Movie snacks were popcorn and mermaid tail cookies. I know there are no mermaids in the first movie but when I started to plan this day out I was going to do it when we went to POTC 4 in the theaters but we never got around to having it then so I went ahead and used my mermaid ideas.

During the movie the kids did a couple of crafts, they decorated door hangers thingies and made a mermaids cove with my help.

After the movie I surprised the kids with a treasure hunt! They were so cute running around the house from clue to clue. I'm now thinking maybe I should have done a hunt for our trip reveal, maybe I'll do it for our next trip if I decide to keep it a surprise! At the end of the hunt they found baskets with a few treats!

The humidity outside kept fogging up my camera lens, I told you it was hot outside!

Don't mind the mess, my kids have hundreds of books and as hard as I try to keep them organized and neat looking, it's nearly impossible, lol

I printed these little pirate guides out from Familyfun.com, I thought they were really cute!

Dinner was kept simple, cannonball sandwiches with sword fries and watermelon. I had the meatballs in a slowcooker all afternoon so I could sit and enjoy the movie instead of worrying about getting dinner together. Dessert were simple cupcakes and more cannonballs, plain and chocolate covered rice krispy treats. I also made a Mickey treat for DH to enjoy tonight when he gets home since he worked this evening. ;)

After dinner, Sam and Ben went downstairs to play Lego Pirates of the Caribbean on Wii while Emily and I started a pirate ship craft that we never got finished. It was a fun day, I'm glad we finally got around to doing it and the kids are already asking when our next theme night is:eek:

Love your themed movie nights! :thumbsup2 The treasure hunt is a great idea and the kids really seem to have gotten into it.

Woo hoo! Great movie night!

Thanks everyone! The kids really enjoy having these nights/afternoons and I have alot of fun trying to come up with ideas for them. The family fun website and the theme nights thread over on the families board give me lots of great ideas! Even though our next family trip is almost 2 years away we're going to keep up with the nights, not as often as we were doing them before our last trip but one or two a month! Don't laugh but I actually have a book that I wrote out the movies we want to do and when I see ideas for them I jot them down in the book. I get into lots of trouble in Michaels (craft store), besides buying things for everyday crafts that I do with the kids I am always on the lookout for theme night stuff!

Another fun movie night! POTC is one of our movie nights that will be coming up soon, too.

I love the pirates night! I am thinkig of doing mine near Halloween, so I am going to keep lots of your ideas in mind;)

Sorry it's been almost a week since my last trip update, real life has gotten in the way :sad2: I know I promised not to drag this thing out so I will be better from now on :thumbsup2

I left off with us leaving AK and going back to the room for a swim/nap. Well of course the nap didn't happen but the swim did. We swam for about an hour and a half before heading back to shower and relax a little in the room before heading out to DTD.

We got to DTD around 6:30 and headed straight away to the one and only place DH will eat at there, Earl of Sandwich! This is a must for us every year, in fact I had other dining plans for us this night and was going to try to skip DTD this year but DH and ODS got mad because of not getting to eat at EOS so I cancelled our Boma ADR's and switched our plans around. DH took the little kids and got some seats for us outside while I went in with MIL, DN and ODS and got our food. The line seemed longer than usual but it moved fast so we had our food in no time. DH had the Original, the little kids all had the pizza sandwiches and Christian and I got the Hawaiin BBQ. DN also got the Hawain BBQ, which she declared to be the best sandwich she ever had! Which is funny since her dad has owns a restaurant/pub that serves some awesome sandwiches, lol. But I have to agree with her, Earl of Sandwich has some of the best sandwiches, we all agree that its the bread that does it! For dessert we all got the brownies.

After stuffing ourselves silly we decided to split up. MIL wanted to do some Christmas shopping without any of us around (yes she shops in May) and DN and Christian decided to go off and do their own thing. So that left DH, DD, the boys and I to do our thing. We first went in to Team Mickey, this is probably the only store that DH truely enjoys going in at WDW. He got himself a new hat and while there we spotted DN and Christian so we ended up buying Christian a Yankee there hat as well. We then made our way over to the World of Disney. DH gets annoyed with me in here because I like totake my time and look at everything, he does not, lol. Plus it was so crowded in there, more so than we've ever seen it but we usually go in the day, nighttime is alot more crowded. We were in there for a long time, DH ended up taking the boys outside to wait for us. For the amount of time we spent in there I came out with very little purchases, Emily got a princess Mickey ears for her Marie, Ben got a book and a couple more Disney Racers and I got myself some placemats, a pot holder and some dishtowels. My MIL had spotted me checking out the kitchen stuff when we were at the Poly and she had told me not to buy anything (remember she was off Christmas shopping) so I had to be careful what I bought.

Much to Sam's delight we were finally going to the Lego store! Sam was in absolute Lego heaven :cloud9: He hadn't really bought much yet on the trip because he was saving up for here. After playing outside for a bit we went in and he ended up buying 2 of the new POTC Lego sets, he wanted to get one of the larger sets but I had to put my foot down. Maybe if he was responsible with these 2 we would think about the ship for Christmas. A little Lego backstory, this past Christmas Sam wanted the Harry Potter Legos, besides a couple of video games that was all he wanted. So between MIL and us, we got him all of the sets, probably around $500 on Legos. Want to know where those Legos are now after I spent the whole week after Christmas putting them together? All taken apart in a bin. We had the sets all displayed on a table in the basement but one by one they got played with and came apart and got put in a bin. Luckily I saved all of the directions but as of yet none have been put back together. To his credit the POTC sets are all still in tact so Sam may end up getting that POTC ship!

By the time we left the Lego store it was almost time to meet up with the rest of the gang but I still hadn't gotten my Christmas ornament that I buy on every trip so we quickly walked over to the Christmas shop, I looked around for a few minutes and decided on the one I wanted, there really was no space large enough to put our names on it so there was no need to get that done this year. With my purchase down we made our way back over to EOS to meet up with everyone. Of course noone was there yet so the kids and I walked around Once Upon a Toy for bit until they got there.

MIL, DN and Christian finally showed up. MIL went in Once Upon a toy and got Emily a baby Marie and I got myself a Chef Mickey plush for my kitchen. All shopped out we made our way to the car around 10pm.
