Princess Weekend 2023 (Feb 23-26, 2023)

Really curious why the 10k tends to sell out faster than the 5k? I would assume the 5k would sell out first, since it's open to more people (age-wise and capability-wise)

To put what @sandam1 stated in numbers:

2021

5k solo bibs ~12000-14000 based on past history
10k solo bibs = 6461
HM solo bibs = 9832
Challenge bibs = 7169

10k event = 13630 bibs
HM event = 17001 bibs

So there's about double 5k bibs then there are 10k solo bibs (at least last year). Some years the number of 10k bibs has been even less.

Hello! I have never run a RunDisney race before, but we’re taking our family trip in February for the first time, heading home on 2/25.

I would most like to run the 10K (assuming I’m able to register!), but any advice if I’d likely be able to finish, get back to AKL Kidani, and shower before check-out time? I know the race starts at 5, but I’m not sure how long it takes to get through the finish line area, etc. If it’s going to be too tight, I’ll try to register for the 5K on Friday instead.

Thanks!

I am not in any way, shape, or form fast. But in 2015 I did the January Half and was back in our mermaid room at AOA in time to shower, dress, and get out of the room by checkout so I could get back to WWoS to see the kid races. I will state that my then-husband had packed almost everything up so I didn't have to do anything but put my running clothes and toiletries into a bag, get the bags to the car, then drive on over.

With a 10K? Definitely simple to do.

Along with it being part of the challenge, it's a great distance. Many of us have a hard time going across the country to do a 5K, but a 10K is different.

Happy Friday! I am getting jazzed about registration day...I won't be battling it out as I've already secured my half bib through a charity, but registration day just lights everyone up (for better or worse) and I'm looking forward to all the chatter. I've not been running much lately, and need a little push. (ALSO- it's supposed to drop 20 degrees over night and it's currently 96 in DC) so it should be perfect to get out there!

I LOVE the new artwork and colors and I'm starting to think about which Princess I'm going to be. Would love to do the yoga again this year, but will have to skip it so my trip is a little more compact.

BEST OF LUCK to Everyone on Tuesday!

I’m going to register next week. I expect my daughter will be competing in a gymnastics meet the weekend before and we’ll make it a week long FL trip because it’s our school vacation.

The bad news - I checked flights and right now for 4 of us on JetBlue from Boston to MCO - $4600. 😳 That better drop!!

I’m hoping to run the Princess Half and have a question about POT. I’ve read a few times to skip this and come back to it later during registration since it can be edited until November. So when I get to the POT question should I say that I’m going to run slower than 2:15 and change it later? Or that I’m going to run faster than 2:15 and enter some bogus information?

Thanks! It’s been 10+ years since I’ve run a RunDisney race
Hello Fellow Royals! It's been 10 years since I've run a Disney race as well and my last Princess was in 2011, so my registration anxiety is off the charts after reading about Marathon Weekend craziness! I am hoping for the 5K and half. For anyone looking for off site accommodation, Drury Hotels has opened a new hotel in the Disney Springs area. They're great hotels - I have stayed at them often. Beautiful rooms and full breakfast and 5:00 kickback (which is more like a full meal than snacks). Here's a link: https://www.druryhotels.com/?sisear...z-TqRlo-QJrQZjKeORfmDCF7xlvZEbmsaAlMlEALw_wcB

Will be sending everyone power thoughts on Tuesday morning! :grouphug:

Yikes - I need help.

My sister and I have talked about doing a half marathon for her 50th in 2023. Haven't thought about it in months. Now my brother and her were talking about doing the Princess Half-Marathon and I'm trying to coordinate, register everyone at the same time. I've never registered for anything.

Do I need three computers to do simultaneously? Or can I do it on one account?

There are a few factors for successful registration. One is getting into the queue. People around here generally do have more than one browser going to maximize odds of getting into the registration page quicker. That said, people had different experiences for MW registration re:timing. Some did well when they went into the queue earlier than the 10 am start. Some did better going in right when it opened.

Second factor--make sure you have an account created with everyone's info already added--you can do it all from one as long as they are all in it. This will save time. Silly things--make sure you pick shirt sizes and skip the Proof of Time section--pick whatever finish time doesn't need proof of time. You can change it later.

Third factor--and probably most important--when you add a registration to your cart, it is not guaranteed until you check out/pay. So if you go through the process of adding yours to the cart, and you go to add another person, you are NOT guaranteed anything until you pay, and you can lose yours. People have been screwed by this before. The race can sell out while you are registering.

Thanks this is all very helpful.

How do I add everyone's info to my account? I don't see how under my runDisney profile, and princess races aren't open yet.

Is there a step by step of the screens that are shown as you try to register?

Friendly reminder that the Princess sell out game closes tonight if you want to play (link). We've got ten players so far.

Hmm....I guess I am mistaken on adding them in advance. I guess I was confounding this account with regular Disney account.

the website was down this afternoon.... so I'm hoping it is because they are improving it for registration tomorrow... right? LOL
I'm sort of panicking with the stats chart...!
