I was unable to snag a reservation for Cinderella’s Royal Table for our upcoming trip to WDW, but I did manage to get a breakfast reservation for Princess Storybook Dining at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall in Epcot.

Our "all girls" group will include two adults, a teenager age 17 and two little girls ages 8 and 4.

I would appreciate any insight into how the food is, how interactive the princesses are with the kids, price per person (more/less) and basically share the overall experience so I can know what to expect.

Thanks!
:)

We went to this breakfast on our last trip. We really liked it alot. We had Belle in her yellow dress in the lobby posing for pictures which they then brought to our table later to see if we wanted to buy. I think now though that you get one picture for free.

The majority of the meal was family style. They bring the food out on large platters and you can ask for more at any time. We had scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, breakfast potatoes and some kind of bread, can't remember exactly. There was also a small buffet which had fresh fruit and some pastries/breads on it. The hot food was hot when it was brought out and we liked it.

I thought the character interaction was very good. There were 4 kids at our table, 10, 7, 4 and 4 and all were able to get autographs and pictures and the princesses talked to each of them as well. We had Jasmine, Ariel (in her ball gown), Snow White and Pochahontas in the dining room, but it varies as to which princesses/female characters are there.

I'm not sure of exact cost, but it is cheaper than CRT. I would definitely recommend it! In fact we are going back for the lunch this trip.

We have had breakfast at both Akershus and CRT and prefer Akershus. The food at both restaurants was good, however we felt rushed with our meal at CRT. At Akershus, they gave you time to eat.

Also, the princesses at Akershus gave the kids more attention than at CRT. What I loved about CRT, though, was the fact that we were in the castle.

And yes, like the PP said, the picture is now included with the price of your meal at Akershus too.

That's cool, I didn't know the picture was included there. Do you know if they do the whole "send to the front/ your resort" things with meal photos like they do with the ones you buy at attractions?

We have been to this breakfast twice and the food was excellent, they have wonderful ligonberry danish and muffins on the cold buffet.....the Princesses are wonderful with the little kids...its alot of fun and I would do it again with the nieces...have a great time!

Sounds like your 17 year old is a boy - yes he will love Jasmine in her bikini like outfit. When we went our DS was 15 and he loved to pose with Jasmine - and the other more dressed princesses.

You will not leave without a full belly - the food is not gormet, bur very nice family style breakfast with lots of buffet items.

Bring your camera - it's a great way to take some pictures of World Showcase if you have an ADR before 10 AM. Also not to mention pictures with the princesses.

You get (or buy, not sure) a CM taken picture of your kids (and parents if you wish) with Belle, the princess in the yellow dress, before you eat.
Just like the pictures taken at Chef Mickeys, Cindy's and 'Ohanas.

We like Norway better than Cindy's. :goodvibes

Breakfast is very good and served family style. The princesses are good and will interact if your kids will actually talk to them. My girls were a little shy so talking was minimal.

We went in May and the price was $28.99 for 10 and over and $17.99 for under 10, plus tax. Pictures were included in this price.

Have fun.

That is so funny you said that...one of my fave disney memories was when my then 4yr old dd was at Akershus with myself, dh and her 22 yr old uncle. When Jasmine came to our table she told Jasmine "Uncle Keith thinks your hot". Jasmine handled it well & said he would have to talk to Aladdin about that! :rotfl:

Thanks to everyone for the super-fast replies!

Now I don’t feel so bad for not being able to get a table at Cinderella’s because it sounds like this Storybook Princess Character breakfast sounds like the better deal. We did Cinderella’s in the past and I agree that you get a rushed feeling from the time you step foot into the restaurant and all through the meal.

The 17 year old in our group is actually a girl who is celebrating her recent high school graduation but as you know, they never really “outgrow” going to Disney World. And this will be a first visit for my two little nieces so I cannot wait to see the look on their faces when they are approached by real live Disney Princesses.

We are leaving on Sunday (driving from Texas to Orlando) and checking in to Disney on Monday, and the countdown is on!

Thanks again! :yay:

I am glad to hear that interaction is adequate. My 8 year old niece is not shy in the least so I am sure she will be okay. Our 4 year old may be resistant but we’ll see. We have been to numerous character breakfasts in the past at various restaurants in WDW and sometimes the characters seem to spend less time with the kids in their rush to get through the entire restaurant. And thanks for the heads up on the price, which sounds pretty reasonable for what we are getting.

I think it is better and so many princesses I thought the food and characters were great. And only 1 credit if you are on the DDP. I would book it over CRT for breakfast.:yay:
