Princess Phoebe's Pre-WISH-Trip Report (arriving in MK 4/17/10)

Totally understandable we are already running late! Buhaha! I'm the queen of never showing up to except to work on time!

I hope you guys get to go and I'll post pictures when I can.

Tessa came running into the house today yelling "PACKAGE!!!". It was a big white box from Anita (Granna4679). Phoebe opened this one and there was a touching note on top that brought tears to my eyes. Anita had previously shared some thoughts on Amanda/Piper's PTR about being part of the BIG GIVE and I knew what a big heart she has. Obviously the time and effort (not to mention cost) that goes into ALL of the BIG GIVES shows the wonderful spirit of this group, but Anita just has a way with words. :lovestruc I don't know if Phoebe understood any of it, but she honestly smiled while I was reading it.

So what's underneath the sweet note and tissue paper??? Safari themed outfits for Animal Kingdom!!!
Granna3.jpg

Wait there's something else in the box...
Granna4.jpg

Matching hair bows! How cute!
Granna5.jpg

So we tried them on and, AWWWW, how adorable! (notice Phoebe's playing with the bow :cutie:)
Granna6.jpg

Sometimes skirts don't lay the same when she's sitting but I noticed that this style is just as beautiful when sitting (maybe even more so!) as it is when she's standing.
Granna7.jpg

Sally, her helper, was just in awe, but we couldn't agree on where the bow went - middle or side. So Anita, which way is it meant to go? :rotfl:
Granna8.jpg

Tessa's outfit was a little different style but same materials. I love how they look together. Of course getting a shot of them together will be a task for a Photopass photgrapher. :rotfl: Tessa loved looking at all the animals in the jungle scene and she said she wanted to go on a safari. :thumbsup2
Granna9.jpg

As has become the custom after trying on a new creation, Tessa immediately started spinning. And Phoebe was just loving that bow on her skirt. It was dinner time and they were both starved, so I was tempted to let them stay in the new clothes but then I remembered we were having Daddy's meat sauce w/noodles, so OFF came the clothes! :lmao:
Thank you so much Anita! I can't wait to see the girls in these outfits at AK. So cool!!!

I'm speechless! Those cute little outfits are AMAZING!!! Way to go, Anita!!!

Yes, I'm serious. I have started packing. It's totally against my nature to have anything even started until a day or two before (even though I swear every time that the next time will be different), but as I mentioned in the last post, these clothes are NOT going to be worn until we get to WDW so why not put them in the suitcase now? I will need to reorganize everything once we get close but at least I won't be looking for the top that goes with that skirt, or washing every item in the house just in case we want to take it.
Although I'm not thrilled about flying 7.5 hours through Chicago to get to Orlando (going through DFW could have been 5.5), there apparently is a perk to flying on Southwest.....luggage. They are currently allowing 2, yes, that's right, 2 checked bags per person. Tim said if we need 8 suitcases we've really got problems. :lmao: We only own 4 real suitcases, 2 large, 2 small, and I assume that will be enough, but it's nice to know that not only can we bring all 4 of those, if we really need to we can bring more without paying OOP for the extra fees. So, woohoo for Southwest's luggage policy:yay:, and oh well, for flying through Chicago. :upsidedow

Next up, a note from Tessa to Tessa. :rotfl: Back when I first joined the DIS I came across HeatherSue's TR and noticed that she has a Tessa too. I showed her pic to my Tessa and she thought it was pretty neat that there was another Tessa out there. (BTW, did anyone notice the Canadian Couples Ice Skating Gold Medal Winner was a Tessa? She really liked watching that ;))

She loved checking out each of the little princesses and twirling for me to see.

Tessa sat by me while we looked at the pictures and she is smiling from ear to ear! This was a dress that my Tessa wore to Disney last year. She only wore it 2 times (once at Disney and once for her 6th birthday). I hope it's okay that I gave you a "used" dress! It no longer fit her, but I had such wonderful memories of her wearing it. I couldn't bear to part with it! But, when I saw your Wish trip was coming up, I knew I had found the perfect recipient! I'm so glad that Tessa likes it! Thank you so much for the pictures!

I love the dresses! They are going to look so great when they go to the parks~~!!!!

Oh my....you have ME in tears now! They look so beautiful in them. And the fact that Phoebe smiled when you read the note:hug:. I truly believe God has a way of speaking into each and every life. Thank you so much for posting the pictures. I won't forget your family. I promise to continue to pray for Phoebe. I have a friend that had a baby with Spina Bifida a couple years ago. I was at the hospital when she was born and they knew ahead of time she would have difficulty. It was worse than they expected but I know God hears the prayers of our heart. She just turned 2 and she is going all over the house (still not crawling or walking but gets where she wants to go). They just started therapy with a walker and she took off on that like she had had one her whole life. The doctors said none of this would happen but just look...that goes to show you that when we believe, miracles happen. I truly meant what I said about Phoebe having a place in my heart. I hope you all have a magical time @ Disney and I can't wait to see the pictures from there.

Oh, and the bow....it should go in the front just to the left of Phoebes tummy area (or to the left of the belly button if that helps). You had it right in the first picture where she is sitting with it on...the one where she is touching the bow. I meant to put a tag in the back so you would know where the back is...sorry I forgot.

Anita - those are great AK outfits! That smile from Phoebe says it all!

Hope you guys are feeling better! We can't seem to get the germs to leave our house!

:goodvibesI am in such AWE of all the talent that all of you are have shown from the Great Give. You are all truly special people with such special gifts!!!

The girls look awesome in thier AK outfits-you might have to expand your trip so the girls can wear all thier new outfits!!!:goodvibes

The outfits keep on coming :goodvibes Nothing like little girls' dresses! I think you'll need to change clothes mid-day to get them all in huh?

Oh my! I am just in awe at the spirit of giving that is going around. Those are corny words to use, but I can't think of a more appropriate way to phrase it. I keep reading about people joining up for their very first BIG GIVES and there's many more who are just getting in on the giving all on their own (or organizing more groups) as well. Andrea (RockinDisney) told me that she found some cute little tiaras for the girls and asked if she could send them. Of course! Then she said she found a few other items she couldn't resist. Hmmm. Okay! When the doorbell rang today and the package was left on our doorstep, Tessa carried it in exclaiming it was SOOOOOOO heavy. She did a good job of waiting until Phoebe got home from school, but once we started, watch out! I had to give her a time-out halfway through because she was actually breaking things, and the name tags were coming off, not to mention my attempt at getting pictures was foiled. :sad2: She screamed for a minute, then regained her composure and we started again. Ah, the joys of a 4 yr old. Those moments don't even phase Phoebe anymore. :rotfl: We opened everything next to the front door because Tessa couldn't wait!

(Andrea even wrapped everything super cute - the name tags were balloons with silly straws as the string. Both kids loved the straws!)

RockinDisney18.jpg

Phoebe's blinking here, but I wanted to show the straw, she kept grabbing it.
RockinDisney19.jpg

Tessa going crazy. She got one side of this package open and then shook it so everything fell on the floor. Thankfully, nothing fragile! There were tons of glow sticks, bracelets and even barrettes! I didn't know they made glow barrettes, but how cool!
RockinDisney14.jpg

Phoebe opening some more while Tessa has a time out. :rolleyes1
RockinDisney10.jpg

Some very useful ponchos! I love how there is one clear and one bright yellow (and she sent two packages) so we can put the bright ones on the kids and not lose them in the sea of ponchos (should we end up needing them).

Tessa opened an adorable photo album. She was confused at first (I don't think she's ever seen one?) so I read her the note from Andrea about putting our pics from our trip in there and she got excited. This is her "excited" face. :lmao:
RockinDisney24.jpg

Phoebe liked her monogrammed album too, I think for the silky ridges she felt.
RockinDisney29.jpg

Poor Phoebe has a drippy nose. We all still have the sniffles and a cough, but I'm grateful it doesn't seem to be a bad one.

They also got some coloring books and crayons, some princess hair ties, little towel packs (ugh can't remember the name, but they grow when they get wet) an Alice in Wonderland book for T and a bathtub book (Little Mermaid) for P. I love those books 'cause Phoebe can chew on them and not hurt them. You hit everything just right Andrea!
RockinDisney32.jpg

Tessa siting amidst her mess of paper and boxes checking out the pen that she broke. It has a flower that goes on the end. I think I can fix it.
RockinDisney33.jpg

And the piece d'resistance, two different but equally adorable (and oh-so-delicate looking) tiaras!
RockinDisney35.jpg

I'm so happy they have the perfect accessories to wear to the castle for our lunch date.princess: I love these! They are way cuter than the plastic-y dress up ones we used to have but have all been broken. These are SO going away until the trip. Thank you so much Andrea! The Princesses loved all of their stuff. I opened mine but I'm saving the update to go along with Tim's tomorrow. (Andrea also sent stuff for the King and Queen). :thumbsup2

What great tiaras! Like you said, perfect for your Princess Lunch.......

People on the DIS are great!

I always love tiaras!! I may have to pick myself up one and wear it just for fun!!

Hi Melissa!
What great pics -- thanks for sharing them! They look gorgeous in their tiaras -- ready to rock the castle!

It's getting close......

Wow! How have I missed all this?! The AK dresses are amazing! And what a great idea with the silly straws as strings to balloons! I had to giggle at Tessa needing a TO during the unwrapping. Here, that's Maya, and she's the older of the two.:rotfl2: I love the pic of Phoebe feeling the photo album. You can see the wheels turning and the delight on her face is so clear.

It's getting close!:cool1::cool1:

Wow the girls got so many wonderful Big Give gifts while we were gone! :cool1:The dresses are all adorable and the girls look beautiful in everything! :cutie:
