Princess Phoebe's Pre-WISH-Trip Report (arriving in MK 4/17/10)

That is so funny that Tessa likes SW!! My boys love it, Brenna.....not so much. Although she did watch it in the car last week when we were headed to the mountains without many complaints....probably because she knew the boys would have to watch Hannah Montana on the way back!!

I'm so sorry about the raise. That is just lousy. Something else to look forward to though, right??

I'm getting a kick out of Tessa's 'crush' on R2D2 I hate to admit it, especially after reading everyone's fondness for it here, but I have never seen and have never had any desire to see Star Wars Like you, not a sci-fi lover I guess (unless it's the one of those fab films I saw at DHS' Sci-Fi Diner )

Sorry to hear they postponed the raise. No matter how many times you remind yourself 'it's not a sure thing until it's in the paycheck" it's hard not to spend it in your head isn't it? But like you say.............at least his job's not in jeopardy. I thank my lucky stars DH is in an industry that hasn't really taken much of a hit in today's struggling economy. Not everyone has been so lucky.

I forgot to mention that as we were watching Start Wars last night, Tessa leaned in and gave me a kiss, then declared that she wants to meet R2D2 and give HIM a kiss. I believe this just might be her first crush.


In other news, we just received word that the raise promised months ago has been postponed. It was supposed to take effect before the end of first qtr, but is now being promised in September. When other wives were calling me in January asking why the raise didn't show up yet, I warned them all that it isn't a sure thing until it IS on the paycheck and not to plan for it. People had plans for new cars, vacations, etc. I am disappointed that it didn't come through before our trip, but I am more grateful that DH has a good job, and that we have not had to endure a layoff or cutback as so many others have been through lately. Now if I could just stop procrastinating our taxes....

How sweet that she found a character that she really likes!! Too cute!

Raises, like you say, are not a guaranteed thing! Glad you didn't bank on it, and I'm happy too, that DH DOES have a good job that keeps you clothed and fed.

I haven't been on much this week as Phoebe came down with a cold and stayed home from school for the last couple of days. It's nothing serious, but I wanted to give her a chance to recover. I feel so bad because we received a package several days ago and just hadn't had the time (or maybe the energy?) to take pics and post them. Today we received a couple more packages and I figured it was the push I needed to get back on the ball. So here is the latest from the Big Give...

Someone from MS, no DIS name but last name Partridge, made a darling little Sleeping Beauty dress for Tessa. Of all the "classic" Princess movies, she definitely loves that one the best.

After she pulled it out of the envelope I asked her whose dress it was. In this shot she's answering me "Sleeping Beauty".

It fits me!

And look it twirls!

Next up, a note from Tessa to Tessa. Back when I first joined the DIS I came across HeatherSue's TR and noticed that she has a Tessa too. I showed her pic to my Tessa and she thought it was pretty neat that there was another Tessa out there. (BTW, did anyone notice the Canadian Couples Ice Skating Gold Medal Winner was a Tessa? She really liked watching that )

Phoebe got a picture colored by Tessa's brother Sawyer. Thank you Sawyer! Phoebe liked the bold colors you chose for Mickey.

I could see that this one was for Tessa so I let her open it. As soon as she saw the bag she exclaimed "Jasmine!". She's really taken a liking to Mulan and Jasmine lately (Princesses she previously rejected watching) so great choice for the front character Heather!

Inside is a very cute, personalized, Little Princess dress.

The neighbor kids thought it was so cool and had to check it out a little closer.

She loved checking out each of the little princesses and twirling for me to see.

The only one I didn't get a picture of was Aurora on the back, but rest assured she loved all of them. Since the neighbors were over and I wasn't sure I'd get Tessa to hold still again, I had her try it on over her clothes and it fit well. Sorry the t-shirt underneath is showing in these pics, but I will definitely get some better ones at WDW!

Last one for tonight is a package from Kristine (Tinkerbelle565) for the whole family.
Matching WISH shirts! I love it Kristine! A perfect souvenir for our very special trip.
Phoebe opened the package. I think it's neat how she isn't looking at it but she is touching the shirt and the bag. Her smile grew bigger the more she felt.

And last but not least, Daddy. Tessa insisted on taking his pics too, but they didn't really turn out. He was a good sport and donned it again for a reshoot.

They all fit fine (I'd say the kids are a touch big, which is perfect for T-shirts in my opinion, and gives them room to grow, and mine is perfect but I'm hoping has room to shrink, lol).

Yay!!!! Glad everything arrived ok. Sorry the girls tshirts are a bit big. I always buy my DDs Tshirts big just in case of a growth spurt! I always forget that other people might like their shirts to actually fit normally

I love the dresses soooo cute!

You know I was at the Tucson Mall last weekend and "stumbled" into the Disney Store. I saw the cutest thing ever! Well to me cause I love packing lunches. Haha so strange! Anyways they have little bento style lunch boxes with Tiana on one and then I think the other is Cindy and Aurora. I was like hrm....I wanted to buy them but I'm not sure if Phoebe took lunch with her to school or not.

Thanks everyone for the well wishes. She seemed to be doing much better but the school called me today and had me pick her up. Seems like she had a temporary perk, but I don't think she's too bad. I've got the cold now too, so I'll know exactly how she feels by tomorrow.

You're so funny, Dina. I do the same thing, when I'm out shopping and see something cute, I think to myself, who do I know that I can get this for? If you are in a shopping mood and see them again, Phoebe does take breakfast to school, actually. I wouldn't want to deprive you of the pleasure of buying something so cute.

Unfortunately, Tim forgot his schedule had to be changed this week so between that and not knowing how everyone will be feeling over the weekend we're going to postpone the Ren Faire. I'm hoping to get one of the next weekends though, so give me a report on how it is! Have a good time!
