Princess Phoebe's Pre-WISH-Trip Report (arriving in MK 4/17/10)

So awesome to come home and see the Give packages rolling in for you guys! The dresses are so sweet, and very cool wish tee's! You're getting closer!! Go You! for starting to get packed up!

What a great package! The tiaras are beautiful! Can't wait to see what the King and Queen received!

So glad the girls liked everything!! I was hoping Phoebe would enjoy some of the different textures of things I sent and it sounds like she did!!

Sorry Tessa got a TO while opening and let me know if you need another pen!!! Every girl need a sparkly flower pen and because they are wide they are easy for characters to hold while autographing!!

The joke about the ponchos- All of my friends always laugh because I always have them for every Disney trip. You would be amazed what they come in handy for, even if it does not rain. Some of my friends have used them on water rides-I have made fun of them for that. Another time I went with my friend and her 3 yr old son at the time-we were at DTD and there are water jets that shoot out of the sidewalk. Needless to say what three year old could resist, of course he was soaked afterwards so I pulled a poncho out of my purse and we changed him in to it. We got some weird looks but he was dry and thought it was the coolest thing...he only wore it on the boat ride back to PO so not to long :) There was a full bus back to the hotel one night and something had spilled on one of the seats, pulled out a poncho and covered it and sat-left that one behind. ;)
I was going to take the ponchos out and Paint the girls names on them but then thought they are so compact and I can never get them to refold that small-I keep trying  So I figured better to leave them as they are- since something tells me you have ALOT to pack and space is at a Premium

I really wanted to send the King a Crown but my Burger King was out and I could not think of anywhere else that would have them, and I did not think til after I had mailed it that the queen might need a Tiara also....
So no crowns for the king or queen :(

a little nervous about the Kings gift-I just thought surrounded my females he might need a reminder of which end is up....

The expressions on the girls faces is awesome!!! They look so excited!!!

Not to much longer, Melissa.....seems as if March is flying by already too.....Pretty soon April will be here!!!!! :cool1:

The king of the house gets a gift...you can tell by his expression he's thinking it'll be a Disney coloring book or something.

The expression is priceless as he realizes it something much more fun. Oh, Andrea, how did you know???

She definitely did! Either you've been paying attention to my PTR or you have very good instincts. :thumbsup2

Great point on the autographs. We did get some awesome books and pens from Margaret a little while back, but the big ones will be handy for the furry friends we meet.

I have heard many talk about the ponchos being handy, so it was on my "to get" list. You gave quite a few examples of how useful they are. And the bus one, ewwww. :rotfl:

Yes, even our dog is female. Although the BK crown would have been cute, I think he enjoyed the towel much more. That is just his style. :rotfl2:

hey there melissa! :wave2: Joining in a little late but i'm here! Your girls are so adorable!! Alrighty, I'm going back to catch up...got quite a bit :goodvibes

*keala*

Hey there! Good to see you here! Most of it is just chit-chat, and I try to make any news, announcements or questions a little bigger and more colorful. You are going just after us, right? It's getting so close now. I'm hoping to read a few new TRs before we leave (hint hint everyone).

That's one of the best big give presents I have seen yet- at least as far as the funny factor! The girl's are getting some really pretty and cool stuff- but that is funny! :lmao: That just made my day- thanks for posting it!

Oh my gosh! That towel is soooo funny...I think I need one for my 16 yr old son!

SO...the towel came from The Big Give?!?

That is the most hilarious Big Give I have ever seen!!!!!

Melissa and Andrea,

Thanks for the humor break! I needed it today!!! :thumbsup2

I hope Phoebe is felling better :( Poor boo..
You too...

I am just in Awe of all the time, work and generosity that goes in to the BIG GIVE gifts... They are amazing :-) :worship::worship::worship:

The girls look beautiful in all of their dresses and bows and tiara's "-) Can't wait to see the CRT pics.

I need those butt/face towels for my brother's. They refuse to reuse a towel because it may have dried their butt before LOL

Your getting close :-)

Quick update on things over here....

I'm getting a bit nervous that I haven't decided on the itinerary for our second week yet. Just like GKTW and the park week, there is so much we want to see and do (including NOTHING, go to the beach, etc) that it's hard to decide where to put things.

I did hear back from The Littlest Heroes Project and they offered to do a session for us but I don't know which photographer or when or where yet.

Also, a couple of weeks ago we had planned to do a Red Cross car wash for our GAD/GADD but Phoebe was coughing and we cancelled it. Sure enough she ended up with a full blown cold that lasted about a week or so, but she's pretty much back to normal now. She did share it with me and of course I'm still struggling to get over it. sigh. So anyway, I was looking for another GAD project to sign up for and had trouble finding anything appropriate for our family in our area. By branching out to other places (thinking we might visit family over spring break) I found Project Linus. I thought it was weird that they weren't listed in our area since it is a "mail-in" project and doesn't matter where you live. I also remembered Dawn and Caitlin did this and said it was fairly simple, so I had hope that we could manage it.

So I read over the description and it said 60 days to complete it, or May 7 due to the date I was reading this. I signed up and when the confirmation email arrived it said due by March 12th!!!!! I tried playing around with the website and see if I did soemthing wrong or could change it but no. I emailed the Project Linus director and explained my confusion. She replied that it was odd but that she could not change it. She asked me to contact the Hands On Network to figure it out. They had nothing but voice mails and I figured with the number of people involved I'd never hear from them again. I contacted the director again and told her I already had the stuff to make them but knew that even if I mailed them this week they wouldn't arrive by the 12th. She replied that we should be okay. I'm not sure what that means or how she'll manage to okay it, but I figure we already bought the fabric ($112) so we will go ahead and make and donate them even if it doesn't result in Disney tickets. Hopefully DH can help me get most of it done tomorrow so I can mail them on Monday.

That's all that's new here. Trying to be disciplined and not read as many TRs and chatting until I get more of our plans laid out. Wish me luck, lol!

Sorry to hear the GAD is not going smoothly for you guys! I hope you can work something out :goodvibes

OH!!! I forgot to mention the reason for the weird dates, which I finally figured out.....

They've closed the offer! They've hit 1 million volunteers! It looks like they are allowing pending projects to be completed and then it's done. So I signed up just barely in time, but the dates may not mesh in the computer. We'll see.....

WoW!! Done already with 1 million volunteers!! That's amazing. I hope yours goes through ok and you get your tickets. I am so glad we did ours last month. I was going to wait- so glad I didn't! :goodvibes

Just popping in! Great report so far. Pheobe is truly beautiful! My brother and best friend has MANY of the same conditions that she has except they are a bit more extreme and he needs 24 hr. care. When he was about 10 we did a wish trip too. He now just turned 25. I can't wait to keep up with this.

Ohhh okay. I was wondering I was having trouble with signing up for that...but I guess we'll just suck it up and get discount tickets on base. And when I say discount...I mean like $4.......not that much...:(

I'm glad you got a chance to volunteer!! So when are you guys gonna go???
