Do you know if there is a “last day” when the charities can not longer offer bibs?

My mom might join me for the 5k, still undecided… I am monitoring telegram but charities are the back up plan…

it's usually around 1 month before race day. The cutoff for W&D was 9/23, so 5-ish weeks before the expo. I would say it'll probably be around January 20th.

Clicking through my usual morning flight checking (because google isn't great about sending me email alerts to price changes) and suddenly my flights are not available? Hmmm. Was there a schedule change that I have gotten ZERO notice about, American Airlines? Yes. Yes there was. Instead of having a quick 30ish minute layover in Chicago where I run from one plane to the next, I get to spend 2 and a half glorious hours sitting in O'Hare. Which means I'm definitely going to be relying on others to grab stuff for me at the expo because it'll probably be really picked over by the time I get there at 2pm (at the absolute earliest) AND I won't be able to get a VQ on my own. And American's policy on a refund? A 3+ hour schedule change.

There's something going on with AA's website because it is showing all 4 flights (2 down, 2 back) as being fully booked, and it auto-placed me in the middle seat of an exit row from Chicago to Orlando when they changed that flight. And it's giving me a message to "Check back later or have your seat assigned at the airport."

There are no other options out of my local airport with an earlier arrival that isn't also double the money. So I am well and truly stuck.

Have you tried contacting American and seeing what they could do for you? Maybe if you explain/plead with them on why the new flights don't work, there might be some unofficial options.

Are the local options also on American? Might that be a "Plan B" if you get someone on the phone? Computers don't think outside the box the way people can.

My local airport only has 6 gates. There's nothing else to change me to. I cannot fly out a day sooner because I will likely have a playoff basketball game to work on Wednesday night (I have already turned away a Thursday night game because I'll be at Disney.) There is only one other carrier that has a flight that lands 15 minutes sooner (Delta) and that flight costs $340 more than my current one. Because of all of the other timing stuff going on (I'll probably have another game on Monday...the day I get back), I can't fly out of any of the larger airports because of the drive/timing. It appears that a few of the carriers axed flight options since both Delta and United had previously offered similar flights to my originally-booked ones, but with a much higher price point.

Gosh I hope not! I'm more annoyed that I didn't get any sort of notification about it than anything. The next-later option lands at 2:20, and past that I'd be looking at a 9hr flight with 2 stops, which I have absolutely no desire to be stuck with.
