Princess Dress...is it needed?

DD was Lilo for Halloween last year and on our December cruise I brought the costume along to see if I can get a picture of her with Lilo & Stitch. I'm so glad I did. Those were some of the best pictures from our cruise!! (Scroll down for the pictures)

OMG!!! Adorable...

My daughter has a Belle dress but she wears it so much the bows have fallen off and it's way too big around the waist. I really don't want to take it because it's such a mess. But can you buy Princess dresses at the Disney store in Downtown Disney or on the ship? They only have dresses at our local disney store before Halloween.

Target and Walmart usually has the princess dresses in the toy section. For dress-up play.

Bring them...They are only little for a short time..Let her feel like a true Princess while you are there..I know my 6 year old will want to wear hers everyday!princess:

I always buy our princess dresses on disney online. Under clearance you can get all kinds of deals. there are several on there right now. They change the dresses every year ever so slightly and clearance last year's costumes.

Please take at least one dress. My DD was 11 on our first trip and already too big (sizewize) for a princess dress. She was and is very dissapointed. She has tried to talk me into making one for our next trip when she is 13. Your little girl will be this small only once and there are plenty of porters at the airport and ship.

For our dd6, we took one Belle dress for formal night and then an adorable Minnie dress from the Disney Store from Easter for semi-formal. We also took a pirate costume. She really enjoyed dressing up and many of the little girls wore their gowns (particularly on formal night). I just rolled all of her stuff into ziploc bags and still had plenty of room. I'm afraid if we didn't take one or two costumes with us, the temptation would be too much at the gift shop We still ended up getting the Minnie sailor suit dress. :rolleyes1
The pictures are priceless. We have one of her with Cinderella which is amazing. She also loved how people referred to her as "Belle" all night.

I'm in trouble for this year's cruise... she wants to bring MORE costumes! Ugh!

Sounds so cute! Do you have any pics of her in the Minnie Sailor suit dress?

Do most of the girls wear the deluxe costumes or does it vary? My DD4 has a play dress up trunk with Cinderella/Snow White/Aurora/Jasmine but they aren't deluxe outfits. They are more like the play dresses at Target that velcro at the back. Would those be OK? She has been planning on taking her princess outfits for the last 6 months already!
