My older 2 DD will be getting a Disney Princess Barbie house this year from Santa. I remember having lots of little accessories like record players, phones, tennis rackets etc. Would love to have some of these for my girls but the prices on ebay with shipping are a bit out of my budget. Looking for ways to make this stuff from things around the house or from supplies I could get at hobby lobby, michaels with coupons.
All help and suggestions greatly appreciated.
If you really want to make the items, I guess your best bet would be to use Sculpey, or something like that. It's the clay that you mold and then bake to harden.
You have a lot of time to watch for sales/clearance though. We have a few Barbie furniture sets that came with lots of accessories. There's a kitchen playset that came with a fridge and dishes, pans, food, etc. or a couch with a TV, remote, clock, etc. Every once in a while Target has Buy One, Get One 50% off on all Barbie, and they have a big clearance sale in the summer.
Another more "budget" idea would be to look for the little erasers that come 4 in a pack for $1. I've seen them at
Walmart and Michaels, but in the toy section, not school supplies. We have some in the shape a radio, pan with eggs and bacon, phone, fruit, etc. Some of the pieces might be a bit big for Barbie-size dolls, but I bet you can find some that work.
