Why does it have such a big height restriction? We missed it last time because my daughter and son were not tall enough. But, it did not seem like a very rough ride. I think it said riders had to be 48 in, is this true? This time my DD-4 will be about 3 inches shy, are they real strict with this ??

Thanks,
Cheryl

I think the height restriction is due to the seating arrangement (It's like a big booth split in two--2 people sit on one side and 2 on the other) and the fact you slide around when you spin. I think they are just as strict with the height requirement on this ride as they are on all other rides.

They are pretty strict. My daughter is maybe 49 or 50" and the attendant measured her up each time and was careful about it. Others were turned away. The issue is not so much about shorter kids not being able to enjoy the ride, but rather about safety. The ride for whatever reason is not engineered to be safe for people under 48" to ride. They probably build in a cushion in setting the height requirements, but why take a chance.

It's a vey deceiving ride. From the ground it looks very tame, but the spinning adds a lot of potential for movement of the riders. I can tell you that my 5 foot tall daughter with cerebral palsy had a lot of trouble with this ride because she could not brace herlself with her feet. She slid all over the place, and by the end was almost slid under the restraint. My older DD, who is 5'6" said she really had to brace herslf with her feet to prevent herself from sliding around. So, I think the height requirement has something to do with the type of restraint and that your feet need to reach the floor to help keep you in place.

the height restriction is a result of the placement of the safety bar...a child too short would have that bar at a level right in front of their face

Do you spin alot on this ride?
I can handle speed and drops, but don't care for extended spinning. How fast and how long does it spin?
Thanks,
Ty

I would say that spinning is not the focus of the ride, it isn't like the Mad Tea Party at the MK. It's kind of hard to describe how much spinning there is, I like spinning so I would say that there is not much and you don't spin too fast, but I guess if I hated it I might say there was too much. It's more like you go around a turn and spin with the turn for awhile, but not real rapidly. Well that's my attempt at an explanation, and I think I agree with my original conclusion, that it is hard to describe how much spinning there is on a ride like this. I think you can see most of the spinning from the ground though so take a look and see before you go.

I think the spinning 'thing' is deceiving...I think most people do expect it to be like the tea cups. We were actually a little disappointed because we wanted to spin more, hoping it was something like a tilt a whirl, but it is much mellower....we still loved it and had lots of fun riding!

One of my DS's cannot take spinning and as the ride did not look that bad he tried it. To him it was the worst! When it did spin it was sudden and fast and he couldn't take it. DH and I could not wait for that ride to end. My other DS was laughing and loving it. It all depends on your tolerance.

ok - i'm 5'9" and I kept sliding into my DH on my left and complete stranger on my right...you DO move around alot on that ride...so I guess that's why they have the height restriction.

on a side note...I personally hated this ride. WAY too jerky and "spin-y" for me. Not a fan of rollercoasters at all - but DH wanted me to try it. Ugh...never again...I couldn't wait for it to be over.

I agree with the bar height for height restriction.

I love this ride. We've been on it a ton, and each time the spinning is different. Later in the afternoon, you can spin very fast, once the track is real hot. Also, the heavier the load, the faster the spin. I am not a spin lover, but for some reason, I love this ride.
