Priceline question

I am not sure where to ask this question.

I was wondering.. I know that you are only guaranteed a room for 2 people. I wondered if anyone ever had a problem getting a room with 2 beds for a family of four after winning a priceline bid. I want to try to get a resort room hopefully Swan or Dolphin, etc. I know I can't request a specific resort. I didn't know if it is right for us or not.

Anyone need 2 beds in a room and got stuck with only one bed by using priceline?

I have not had this problem but I have read a couple reports from people who did have this come up at some places. The Swan and Dolphin were not the ones mentioned.

Although Priceline only guarantees that you will be provided a room for double occupancy, the Orlando hotels market is such that there is almost always sufficient inventory to accomodate two beds.

After Priceline has found a hotel that will accept your bid, call the hotel directly and have them add your specific requests for beds to the reservation.

I have used priceline successfully 3 times and each time I have requested 2 beds for my family and the staff at the hotel been able to meet my request. I think it all has to do with availability.

I really don't think you'll have any problem. I did read about 2 families that, I believe were in a 2 1/2* that were turned down for 2 beds. There is always a slight chance that could happen to you when you bid Priceline. We always save lots of money with Priceline, but we always either bid for 2 rooms, or simply pack the blow-up bed. We got it at Walmart, seems like we paid about $35. It's a queen, so it sleeps 2 children just fine. The kids don't mind it at all. We've only really had to use it once in Omaha, NE. at a Marriott. Other than that time, we just pack it so we have no worries in case the hotel turns us down. It just takes up the size of a large book in the suitcase. It inflates and deflates in about 3-5 minutes. It's very comfy. Think about it. It might take some of the tension out of your trip, until you check in at the hotel counter. Have a great trip!

You can see the great deals that others have gotten. Although you never know what you're going to get on Priceline, lately others have gotten the Hilton Dowtown Disney for around $60, and the Swan/Dolphin for around $69-$75. That is a great price for any of the Resorts located around WDW area.

I have used PL extensively in our travels and I have never been refused two double beds and a non-smoking room. Just call the hotel/motel/resort shortly after you get your winning confirmation and make your request and they'll note it on your reservation.

I have also used Priceline 4 times and never had a problem. I contacted the hotel and requested a room with 2 double beds, non smoking. They have always said that is what they had booked for me.

We had a situation like this in January. We were staying at the Fairfield By Marriott on Jamacian Court. We reserved the romm thru Pricelline. When we got there they told us that it was a King bed. Which wouldn't have been a problem except that we had our son. Well they solved that by giving us a rollaway bed. It was free and he was thrilled!!
