Can someone else check in for your reservation? We booked a hotel in Cleveland for this weekend. Were going to go and celebrate our anniversary while family kept DS. For many reasons, illness, weather, etc. We can't go. But I wondered if maybe someone else could use this reservation? I can't get my money back, and would love to just have someone use it. we have booked one before, where it was under my name and just DH ended up going. He was able to check in without me. But didn't know if addresses, etc. had anything to do with it. DH and I have different last names, so they wouldn't have automatically assumed he was my husband. The reservation this time is at that same hotel. Anyone have any thoughts? I was thinking maybe my brother in law and his wife could use it. Hate to have it go to waste!

1-800-774-2354 explain the situation and see if they will change the name. Since you aren't changing the date or refusing to pay it shouldn't be a problem.

Yeah, it's prepaid so I don't see why not. I'd just figure out who is going to use it, then call the hotel and let them know you paid for it as a gift to X person and ask to put their name on the reservation. I'm guessing it's not going to be an issue. The person checking in, though, will likely need to give a credit card for 'incidentals' (like if they bought a movie or got room service). But nothing will get charged to it unless they purchase something.

anyone interested in this that is in the Cleveland area? You can get a restaurant.com certificate for $5 for the restaurant in the hotel. Haven't heard back from my sister in law.
