Priceline and the Wyndham Resort at Bonnet Creek

Ok - I am to my wits end. I booked the Wyndham Bonnet Creek RESORT (not hotel, the villas) - through Priceline after confiming 100000% that I can still use magic bands, extra hours, etc. It's listed on the Disney site. After talking with Priceline, Disney, Wydham hotels, and now Wyndam Vacations to try and get a confirmation # to connect to My Disney Experience - I was told by a Wyndham person that this resort was NOT connected to Disney and that I cannot do magic bands, fast passes etc. Is this correct??? Can anyone help me and confirm this?

I'm a Wyndham owner and no Club Wyndham is in no way associated with Disney. In the future, I would just rent from an owner though on Redweek. I always rent out my points there for $180 a night for a 2 bedroom deluxe. Redweek has a verified and protected option where the owner doesn't get paid until after the guest checks in, so it's just as secure as Priceline, but probably much cheaper.

Look at the bright side, you're on Disney property for a fraction of the price. EMH and 60 day fast pass bookings aren't worth the price tag of staying on Disney property. My husband and I prefer Bonnet Creek over the majority of the DVC resorts because the amenities are way better. You have 5 pools, 9 hot tubs and 2 lazy rivers all within a 5 min walk of your room and if you request buildings 2 or 3 facing epcot, you can see the fireworks from you room.

Last time I was at Bonnet Creek I got a fireworks 1 bedroom deluxe for $53 a night for 4 nights and did an owner update and got a $125 gift card back, so essentially my room cost me $87 for 4 nights. You can't beat Bonnet Creek in terms of bang for your buck.

I'm so sorry, but I believe Wyndham Lake Buena Vista, Wyndham Garden Lake Buena Vista and Hilton Bonnet Creek (among others) all have 60 day fastpass privileges according to the Disney website. But, I don't think Wyndham Bonnet Creek ever has had it.

Oh gosh - I’ve literally never been to Disney and not stayed at a resort with dining plan etc. I thought I would take a chance and thought this one was still considered an “on property, not Disney” property. Excuse my ignorance, so I’m assuming no magic bands and no fast passes at all? Just buy a ticket and go in?

No magicbands, but if you have old ones from previous trips, you can use those. You can book fastpasses one day at a time 30 days out from each park day.

Magic bands don't do anything special. They are just a park ticket you wear on your wrist. They're $15 each. You are still better off staying at Bonnet Creek without disney perks. Have a private bedroom, a kitchen and a drier for your bathing suit beats 60 day FP bookings and EMH.

You can buy a magic band if you really want one, setup a My disney experience account, get the free App on your phone, and make fast passes 30 days from each park day. Since you don’t get extra magic hours, plan to avoid a magic hour day if you want to rope drop hard to get rides like FoP at AK. Book a pre- park opening breakfast reservation at BoG to get a walk on ride on 7DMT. You got this!

I'm going to move this to the Orlando Hotels and Attractions board; the Wyndham and other non-Disney resorts are discussed over there. :)

You can still get fastpasses; the difference is that you will only be able to book them at 30 days in advance instead of 60. You can still get FP for most of the rides you'll want to go on, but you might have to check repeatedly for cancellations for some of the most popular rides and times.

You can purchase Magic Bands if you want them, but the FP will work just fine without them. You'll want to get an account on My Disney Experience (the Disneyworld website) to make your FP.

You can either buy your theme park tickets through DIsney, or save some money by buying through one of the trusted, authorized resellers. You can link them to your My Disney Experience app for the purposes of FP.

You can still make dining reservations at 180 days in advance of each day you want to dine.

In the end, I hope you're at a hotel you'll be happy with, and that you've saved some money.

Well I have several from previous trips. Can I just re-activate them?

No need to reactivate them. Once a magic band is linked to a person, it stays linked. The MB is simply a link from the guest to whatever is in your MDE.

You can absolutely use them, and they will work for park entry and tapping in for FP at rides. However, after a few years, they might not work for some of the remote features, like automatically linking ride photos to your account.

It will be fine.
It will be better than fine.
It will be different, but it will still be Disney.

WBC has a very loyal following on this board. Read through some of the posts here about WBC.

In some ways, staying offsite means you have more control of your vacation.

Without a dining plan, you can eat what you want without counting credits or trying to "maximize" your dining plan. Once you crunch the numbers, you'll probably find you save more paying OOP than on the DDP. In addition, your WBC unit will have a kitchen, so you can save more money by preparing (or just reheating) simple meals. WBC also has grills outside, so you can easily throw something on while the kids swim in one of the pools.

WBC is very close, and an easy drive. Disney transportation is great, but it's often slow, and unpredictable. Did you just miss a bus? When is the next one coming? 10 minutes? 30? 60? When you drive from WBC, you decide when you come and go.

As PP mentioned, your FP window will open at 30 days rather than 60. You might not get the headliners, but you'll still get good things, and you can use other strategies like rope drop and jumping into line right at closing to minimize the wait. As a heads up, unlike the 60-day window where you can book FP for your whole stay in one go, you will have to book your 30-day FP one day at a time. You can book at 30 days, but not 30+1, 30+2, etc.

The only thing you are giving up is 60 day FP+ - you can still make them at 30 days .... Extra Magic Hours, which many folks don't use. Even if you went to the Wyndham Disney Springs you still couldn't get the Dining Plan or free parking at the parks, but you would have had free bus shuttle.

BUT the Wyndham Bonnet Creek Resort is awesome and I'd stay there every trip if I could ... and I'll never return to the Wyndham Disney Springs ... if that helps.

You will get a nice well appointed condo with lots of space, kitchen, laundry, big balcony and lots of pools and amenities to enjoy ............ literally spitting distance of the parks.
