I was going to to wait until 30 days out to start my pretrip report but I must start it today because I received my Magical Express info in the mail today. It was addressed to my 8 year old and only her and my 2 year old received the vouchers and tags. Good times. I guess I'm just financing their vacation. Called, then was given the number to Magical Express and they got a good laugh. New info. should arrive in 7-10 business days. I hope this is not an omen.

Jan. 11th- board plane at 6:40 a.m.- I guess this means we put the kids to bed in their clothes and wake them up at 4:45 a.m. and hit the road.
Arrive at MCO at 10:05 a.m.
arrive at POFQ at 11:00 a.m. ( that's my dream and I'm sticking to it!)
check in should be quick since I'm planning on checking in online
We are hoping to arrive at AKL by 1:00 PM- have lunch at a CS and stay til close at 5 pm
Go back to POFQ get stuff unpacked and take boat (???) TO DTD- dinner at Earl of Sandwich or Wolfgang Puck's express
return for early bedtime

I'm thinking we will need to get to the airport earlier so this day may be the longest day ever.

I had my daughter pick three rides she'd like to do at AK since we will probably only be there for four hours.
She chose EE, Kilimanjaro Safari, and Primeval Whirl. She also wants to see The Festival of the Lion King. If we have extra time she wants to do the Dinosaur ride.

I will try and take our 2 1/2 DD to see The Nemo show when they are on EE/Dinosaur. Hope we get to get in these things. We'll do Kilimanjaro Safari and Festival of the Lion King all together.

I'm thinking of eating at Pizzafari when we get there.
How does it sound?:

My name is Lisa. I am a fifth grade teacher. I will be taking four days off for our Disney World trip. This is the first time I am taking time off of work for a vacation. The way they've structured our Personal Time Off I don't feel guilty ( ok a little guilty) doing it. We now have 9 days a year. This is used as sick and personal time. We can't keep the days. Once the year ends they go bye bye.

My DH, Tom, is currently going to school full time so this time works out well because it is before his school starts back.

My DD 8 is in second grade. This is her third trip to Disney World. She is super excited and has no qualms about missing school. Her dream is to be home schooled.:lmao: Her name is Evie.

DD Mimi is 2 1/2 years old ( roughly). Every time we talk about "Dizzy World" she starts putting on shoes so she can get ready. Obviously she has no sense of time. We've tried to stop talking about it around her.::MinnieMo

Today I got to thinking about our dinner reservations for Saturday early evening. We have res. for The Garden Grill. We've never been and are excited. BUT I was thinking... We would be going from DHS to Epcot for dinner, then possibly to MK for the evening. Wouldn't it make more sense to go to 1900 Park Fare for dinner? Then take the monorail to MK??? What do you think?

I believe my girls would like the step-sisters. The two year old laughs at anything that resembles trouble making. Any opinions out there? We currently are holding both ressies but I don't do that for long so I will let one go tomorrow.

Started sewing a couple of Mickey faces on shirts today when... lo and behold my machine was skipping stitches. If I can't figure it out tomorrow I may have to take the shirts to my sister's on Sunday to finish them. I'll post pics when they are done.

I keep checking the long range weather forecast- even though I know it isn't reliable. High in around 73 and 75 for the first to days there- hope it's true :)

A picture of my family in Disney World in 2009. I am a little nervous since that little one is now a mover and a shaker. Fast forward almost two years.

Subbing!

Yay for "Dizzy" trip (that's so cute!!) ;)

Glad the kids are going to let you go considering they got the ME info! :rotfl2:

You have a beautiful family!

I hope the weather holds out for you. I know how you feel looking up the extended forecast. We are going to Feb 6th and I keep telling my husband we should get a Farmers Almanac cuz I want to know what the weather is going to be like!

Hollie

Welcome Hollie1974!!! My first official looker! Thanks so much. I'm going to check out your pretrip report now.

I just checked in on line! I just checked in on line!

I am beyond excited to be in the month in which we travel. I go back to work Tuesday and will be off the next Tuesday heading to Disney World!
:hourglass

I'm trying to finish some shirts that I am making for the girls for our trip. They are Mickey faces embroidered on their shirts. I have had more troubles, and I'm wondering if I should even try to finish. First, my thirty year old sewing machine:o was skipping stitches in a pattern that I have never seen before. After numerous attempts to fix it I am resigned to buying a new machine. I checked out the local store and their online info. indicated that they would be open today. I drove over... surprise surprise - they were off- The Jan. 2 holiday ??:confused3
Decided to order the machine I wanted from Joann's Fabric ( not available in store) and they were out of them.:sad2:
SSSSSSSSO I borrowed my sister's machine and OH MY. I've had nothing but issues. I'm thinking of chucking the idea of these matching shirts and buying a few in Disney.
Hey- I leave in a little over a week!:thumbsup2

Hi there! Subbing too! Can't wait to hear how it goes. Sounds like you are all organised. I too contemplate making shirts but you are right - when you need them to work, sewing machines always let you down! Hope it goes well!

Welcome Laura! Looks like you are a fellow teacher.:welcome:

I went back to that store today and my are those machines expensive. I'm checking on Craigs list, because it is pretty hard to justify a big expense when we have Disney next week. I am pretty new to this- what does subbing mean?

"subbing" means subscribing to a thread so that you can find it back later. It will appear in your user CP (on the far left in the dark blue line at the top of the page). You do it by clicking on the thread tools at the top of the thread.

Your girls are beautiful. You must be so excited to leave in just one week! I also hope the weather holds out for you.

:rotfl2: about your DD wanting to be homeschooled. I also have a 2nd grader and her best friend from Kindergarten and 1st grade is homeschooling this year. I asked her if she was interested and got one of these looks:  I guess that is a "no".

I hope you chose the 1900 PF ADR. I think it does make more sense given your plan for the day. In my opinion the food there is fine. Not as good as Crystal Palace, but not bad either. However, the character interaction is fabulous and the stepsisters are truly entertaining.

I am sorry to hear about your sewing machine. I sometimes think that appliances know when we need them the most so that they can plan their breakdowns. I have never made shirts for my family, but I did make matching pillowcase dresses for my girls last year. I am too sewing impaired to tackle a big project.

I would agree with the fact that the character interaction at 1900 Park Fayre is wonderful and I actually love the food there.

Thanks so much! And yes, we are doing PF 1900. I am really excited to do a new character meal. Thanks for the subbing clarification. I checked two sites and the weater doesn't look like it will get to be above 70- on the other hand, it isn't forecasted to rain so that's good. The two sites varied wildly for next Friday but that is over a week away.

All of a sudden I'm getting nervous about flying. We are flying Southwest early Tuesday morning. It has been awhile since we've flown and this will be DD 2s first flight. She is a wild one, so maybe that is what is making me nervous.
I'm going to finish up their t-shirts/dresses this weekend and I'll try to post pics. I'm super excited to leave here next week. The weatherman is calling for snow and cold.

So fun! Excited for you!!! We are leaving in 18 days!! I have 3 little girls 5,4, and 18 months so I feel what you are going through as well. We also leave on a 640AM flight out of Philly on the 26th, SW as well. I didn't buy a seat for the baby and she is a wild one, hoping she is tired!!

Enjoy!!! It's sooo soon for you!! I'm subbing.

PS: Our ME first package was wrong too. It only had the kids as well. We got corrected ones.

Welcome dmoore!

I read your PTR. I thought I was on the ball with clothes and stuff, but now that I can't finish my sewing--- meh, not so much. I may buy a few things down there for them to wear- sweatshirts probably brrr.

I think I can't sleep now because I'm thinking about all of things I need to get done, but can't now because I tend to drop things and wake people up!

Gotta love this: PINK EYE!!! Well, at least it's me and I can take care of it. I thought I just had my cold settling behind/in my eye. Turns out that is true and it's called pink eye! Joy JOY!!! I've been cleaning and spraying disinfectant like crazy. I think my two year old had this last week for two days. No meds- thought it was a cold:confused:Well, I guess that's how I got it and hopefully mine clears up in two days like hers did.

Sewing: Yeah, finally finished the dress- it was way too big on DD2- In fact it'll look nice on DD8 with a nice pair of leggings.:rotfl2:
I wound up using liquid sew on our shirts :lmao: I'm thinking of taking $500 and putting it in a drawer. Every time I get the urge to sew I'll go pay someone to do it. Or get a new machnie :) When will I learn?

OH NO!! Pink eye stinks...we know it well in our house. I keep the drops so as soon as it starts we can get rid of it, but what a pain!! I'm sure the shirts and dress are awesome!! I bought them some sweatshirts at the Disney Store on sale. I think they were 2 for $18. Have fun!! It's almost time. I have 2 more weeks of work to go.....I can't even concentrate, and I really need to at my job!

Can't wait to see pics and hear all about the trip!! Girls are so fun, aren't they?
