Pressed Penny Suggestions

Thanks for the info on the book sizes, do you think I can find one at the POFQ? :joker:

put your dirty pennies in ketchup and they will be good as new. I have found this to be easiest. Leave them in the ketchup for a little while, run them under water and .....whala! clean pennies!

Thats a Good Tip ! Thanks
My 2 DD's are Looking Forward to Their Penny Collection ! :beach: :sail: ::MickeyMo

they should sell them at resorts, thou i have never been to a disney resort i wouldnt know, but all the parks and downtown disney sell em.

normally, you can find them by the tills, or sitting on top the penny machines

I just covered a bowl of pre-82 pennies with tobasco sauce, stirred it up, and let it sit overnight. Next morning, I threw the pennies in a collander and rinsed them off -- the tobasco was black, but the pennies looked pretty clean to me! Now I'm hoping that dd4 and dd5 don't get too obsessed!

Thanks! I'll need a biggy! :rotfl: Plus I'm getting more pennies ready to press!

Not sure if it's been mentioned but Airborne tubes work well for holding them.

Our kids loved to get pressed pennies when they were younger...We bought them one of those albums to keep them organized. Don't forget to go to the bank before you go and get some rolls of quarters and shiny new pennies....that way, you're all set...

Oh...H&V stands for Hollywood and Vine...it's a restaurant at MGM...

ok this may be a silly question but what do the H and V stand for on these lists?
Not silly at all - depending on what you mean...

If it says H&V in the text of a post the poster usually meant Hollywood & Vine, as someone said before!

If you mean on the lists of pages of where to find the different pressed pennies or quarters the H = horizontal design and V = vertical design! It took me forever to figure that out!

Our family is a penny/quarter press fanatics as well. One year a couple of years ago I was trying to come up with a unique special gift for my hubby for Fathers Day. He and our son had so much fun it was kind of their thing. I had also bought some packs of trading cards that had card size prints of Disney movie prints, mostly from the older movies but they are very classic looking.

So I took the cards and selected some that matched some of our pressed pennies and quarters, bought a large (very large) collage frame and made a large wall hanging of the pennies and cards. It turned out beautiful and my husband loved it so much....it's nice to see them up and doing something rather than just in the penny press books.

Just an idea!! We are leaving a week from Friday and we are gearing up for more pressing!!
I would love to see a picture of the collage!! It sounds really nice. :goodvibes

hmmm, i like collecting pp i dunno why, not really interested in quarters.

i currently have 62 WDW pressed pennies
and 2 quarters

from this years trip i collected about 43 of them, i got a penny from every country round ecpot, so this year's trip i spent $21.50 on pennies and also brought the new pressed penny book with spaces for pennies only for $6.50 plus tax, and i got a 50th an pressed quarter, so $30 on collecting this year.

then i also collect from Universal, Seaworld and Busch.

i have 34 pressed pennies from universal (including IOA)

i have 13 pressed pennies, + 2 quarters from SW, and 5 from Busch

also i have 2 pp from Space Kennedy center

and 4 pp from New York

in total regarding pressed coins i have 124 (i think), so round about thats $60 on coins

and if you are lucky - your family will press pennies on their trips, all over USA, so the collection can grow with less of my $$ :rotfl:

I've been a penny squasher from way back. So there I was at the London Dungeon, back in '98, and dang if there wasn't a machine to press a pence! tee hee! Found 'em in Ireland too! :shamrock: So, when I found so many machines at WDW, I was so happy!
