WHEW!!!! For a minute there I thought I found a new use for all those expired cond.'s wasting away that I got as gifts from my friends when I got divorced 6 years ago! LOL

:rotfl: Thanks for the laughs guys!! Not quite what I expected when I opened this thread up!! :goodvibes

My kids loved doing the pressed pennies! We discovered them part way through our week last year and I was really sorry that we missed so many. Of course now I know that there's really no way we could have found them all in just one week (unless of course we didn't want to do anything else)! So this year I'll be prepared. Thanks for all the great tips!! :thumbsup2

i cant wait to go and see how all my pennies turn out now after spending ages cleaning them with an ERASER!!!

Yes, it is impossible to collect them all......Does anyone know how many actual Penny Press Machines are at WDW ???
And don't they have some Quarter Press Machines too ????
My kids love spotting one of the machines & yelling "There's One !!!!"
We Purchase the little Souvenir Book to collect them in.......
Its a fun thing! :butterfly :dogdance: :butterfly

182 pressed coins machines in WDW which is 494 pressed pennies and quarters in WDW which includes resorts too

Okay, we won't be collecting them all, thats for sure !!
Thanks for the facts !

:thanks:

I'm the OP and just re-opened this thread...you guys crack me up!

Is there a map to each of the parks pennies?

For these past years, I 've been using the frame that they might lay out butterflies on with pins, using the sticky dots for baskets to hold the PPs to the fuzz. but as I look, the PPs are sagging. thanks for the knowledge of the books to hold the PPs, as I wasn't aware of such fancy things!
Now I have to find a store that will sell these fancy books! :confused3

Plus, as a bonus! :thumbsup2 I see I must eat wee little M&Ms!

Our family is a penny/quarter press fanatics as well. One year a couple of years ago I was trying to come up with a unique special gift for my hubby for Fathers Day. He and our son had so much fun it was kind of their thing. I had also bought some packs of trading cards that had card size prints of Disney movie prints, mostly from the older movies but they are very classic looking.

So I took the cards and selected some that matched some of our pressed pennies and quarters, bought a large (very large) collage frame and made a large wall hanging of the pennies and cards. It turned out beautiful and my husband loved it so much....it's nice to see them up and doing something rather than just in the penny press books.

Just an idea!! We are leaving a week from Friday and we are gearing up for more pressing!!

My missus got one of those little album things when we went.....she got it half full and is hoping to finish it next January. Its a really good thing to have to keep them.
Mine is full - I have to start working ona new second one

Ours is full too, we will be purchasing a new one at WDW this November. We collect the pressed pennies from other vacations too when travelling and keep them all together, its a fun littlel memento!!
The books from WDW have a few slots in the back for Quarter Presses too.
:flower3: ::yes::

I would suggest if you look at the list, to write down the ones you want to go to and where they are. I forgot my list, and didn't find all of the ones we wanted. We still found quite a few, though!

Thanks for the info on the books!

Do any of my fellow DISers know - do the penny machines accept Candian one cent pieces? (Are they called pennies in Canada too? :confused3)

My DD7 & DS6 also collect the pennies. I am not sure what it is called--that container that is sealed which is worn around your neck that people use to keep their money and room keys in at water parks--but last year, every morning I put quarters and pennies in my childrens' containers so they were able to be in charge of it themselves and then hold onto their new coins without losing them. Then, when we got back to our hotel room, they put them in their Disney coin book. We will be bringing the coin books back this trip. It really is a fun and inexpensive hobby for them.
