Hi.

How's the weather at Vero Beach during President's Week? What's it like there at that time. Trying to plan for the future with vacations for the kids so we don't have to take them out of school.

Is the place mobbed? Can you swim in the pool or ocean that time of year? How hard is it to get a 7 mos reservation for a 2 bedroom? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

We were there for President's weekend in 2002. Arrived on Thursday before and left on President's Day itself to drive to WDW. Even though the resort was reportedly full, we never felt crowded - there were always chairs by the pool for us and room in the pool/hot tub. Never much of a wait for the slide. FWIW, the view from the top of the slide is awesome - it's worth the stair climb even if you don't want to go down the slide!

Even though I am from Minnesota, I personally would have liked warmer weather - IIRC, it was in the low 70's while we were there. However, I swam anyway and we had a tough time getting my nephew out of the pool (he was 11).

I thought the ocean was too cold for swimming, but I waded! Actually, I'm not much of a swimmer and probably wouldn't do much more than wade no matter what the temperature was. There were "Man 'O War" warnings posted while we were there, so that sealed it for me, anyway, LOL! There were lots of people swimming and boogie boarding at the public beach which is just to the north of the resort.

We paid cash for our reservation (2 bedroom), so can't help you with the points ressie question. Made the cash ressie about 10 months in advance and checked back frequently for discounts. Never able to get one, but since we arrived on the last day of value season, I thought we got a good rate without an additional discount.

HTH. I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time. We did!

Thank you.

Are 70s the norm down there at that time? Wondering if that was unusually high or low...

Thank you.

We were at VB 2./15 thru 2/19 2003. The resort was full but as the other poster said we did not feel crowded. Lounge chairs at the pool became a premium about 10 AM. The weather was mid to upper 70's. I think that is about average for VB in Feb. After the cold winter we have had in NY it was great.

We booked about 6 months out and had a hard time getting a 1 bedroom for all the nights, but the wait list did come thru 2 weeks before we went.

Vero was great and we are thinking about going back this year.
