Presidents on DCL

Yes, her real name is Paige Page and they met while doing Beauty and the Beast on Broadway. Their story was actually on TLC (I think it was A Wedding Story).

BTW, I had a friend on the same cruise with Whittney and Bobby and that was the worst part of their whole trip. My friends felt that they acted like they were God's gift to the world. Spoiled celebrity brats in their opinion.

We were on one of the inaugrual cruises in 98 and had a bunch of wwf wrestlers. I think they had t-shirts that said 'Rock the Boat III'. Someone can correct me on this one if I got the wording wrong. Not really into wrestling but I think it on of the people was China and others were a tag team of men (both blond with braids - I think one was from Georgia).

Paige and Patrick's names were confusing subjects when we cruised.

Her real name is Mindy Paige Davis Page. She goes by Paige Davis. Patrick used to call her Mindy..but for a birthday present
last year..he now calls her Paige. No one calls her Mindy.

Josh, the CM introducing Patrick at his presentation introduced him as Patrick Davis. Patrick is used to it...but Josh was totally embarrassed....

Just to clarify......

(YES- I think Jimmy is cool)

I know the Carters, and I'm pretty sure it's true. I feel like before I went on mine, Chip (one of the sons) told me their whole clan had gone on one.

To get back to the original question, yes, President Jimmy Carter and his whole family sailed on the Disney Wonder for New Year's Eve December 2001. My boyfriend, his son and I were on the same cruise. It was really cool seeing him and his whole family walking around the ship. We first spotted them at the sail away celebration and then kept seeing them around the ship. On New Year's Day he gave a talk and question and answer session. He also did a book signing of his newest book at the time, Christmas in Plains. There was alot of security around the ship and I heard that there were scuba divers under the ship whenever it came into a port. We were a little nervous sailing after 9/11 but did not want to give up our vacation. We all felt a little safer with him and his family along. I now try to catch him on different shows and hope for another book signing in our area.

Did your cruise seem a little less crowded than usual? The reason I ask is that whenever the Carters came to one of my company's conferences, the Secret Service would book a whole bunch of rooms, so that no one ever knew which room the Carters were staying in. It seems like they would have to do something similar on the ship.

It's hard to say if the cruise was a little less crowded as this was our only cruise. The ship did not seem over or under crowded. It was New Year's Eve and I believe it was a sold out ship. Disney has a way of moving people around. I believe all the tables were full when we went to eat and all the parties were packed at midnight. This is something I would love to do again.
