My Tracfone seems to be totally dead and I need to buy something new. It needs to be cheap but I want to be able to send/receive texts....data would be a bonus but not neccessary. I only use this phone when I'm on vacay in the USA so I like the free bonus minutes that you can get with tracfone and the free long distance.

I also looked at Virgin mobile and I like that I can add as little as $10.

What can you suggest?????

Thanks :)

We did Virgin mobile and it was fantastic until we started having issues. Out of no where we couldnt make calls, then we couldn't recieve callls, or use the internet. When I tried to call it said I had no money on my account. When I contacted Virgin they said I was paid up. They never fixed it or offered a reasonable solution.

We have Net10, alot like tracfone, but I like it better. It is our back up cell phone. We buy the minutes but you can also just pay by the month. We actually get better reception in some areas than we do on our normal cell phone!

I recently bought a prepaid phone for $10 at Best Buy. You could get minutes on a card for a minimum of $15 -- they had a couple of plans, including one for unlimited talk/text for $2/day, or pay per minute or text. (I picked it up for a trip to WDW with a non-cell-user friend.) It was a small flip phone, but they had others for more money.
