Premium Plan for One Night Just for the Tours, LaNouba, etc.??

I have a countdown ticker now. :woohoo:
DH wants to go before the "free dining" period. I agreed 100%. Now I have a question for those of you who's done the premium or platinum, but was given a gift card in lieu of the Cirque du Soleil ticket. Please tell me exactly how or what to do. We had just seen La Nouba during our platinum trip(2+ weeks ago) We don't think we want to see it again in May 2011. We are thinking about checking in the platinum plan on a Sunday while it's dark at Cirque. What do you all think? Do you think WDW will offer gift card in the same amount of a show ticket? :goodvibes

I asked about this and they told me we would get gift cards for the value of the tickets. However we're going on a friday, a day they normally perform, so not 100% sure if that makes any difference or not. I'll post back after the trip about the amount on the gift cards.

Cirque is dark Sunday and Monday. So yes that would work... people on this thread have reported receiving gift cards for the value of the show. Just be sure that the tours and activities you want to do are available on Sunday.

Can't wait to read all about your trip!:cool1:

I might push our 2 night Platinum trip to 7/3(Sunday) check out 7/5(Tuesday). Since La Nouba will be dark on Sunday and Monday, I might still be able to get gift cards instead of the show tickets. IF we(Platinum guests) can get the "July Fourth" Firework cruise, :cloud9: it would be perfect :wizard:

I have a question for those of you who have recently done your one night platinum. Can you advise about what time you have to be there for a Wishes cruise, and about how long it lasts? One night of our potential PP Wishes is at 8 pm and the other at 9:30 (Christmas party). Does anyone know if they still do the cruises on party nights? Just trying to work out our schedule, luckily Victoria and Albert's is wide open on availability! :-)

we were on the Wishes Cruise for a 9pm Firework show. We were told to be at the GF Shipyard on or before 8:30pm. We left exactly at 8:30pm. I think you will have plenty of time left after your "potential" 8pm Wishes cruise for a late seating at V&A.
I hope you enjoy your trip! please share your experience!

guys, ive tried reading through the thread and am overwhelmed with the info.

Can someone tell me what it would cost to do a premium or platinum night? I am going in December and some of the activities sound fun but are mostly summer stuff. I would like to in the premium viewing area for fireworks for the mickey christmas party either 12/10 or 12/12 (I have tickets to both events).

Can anyone with experience help me out with a skeleton plan? It's nowhere near this many options and complications in California.

I believe the pricing is $169 Premium and $229 Platinum per person (adult) or round about there. You also need to price in at least 1 day tickets and a non-discounted room rate.

Staying at AKL Club Level I figured the plan was costing us close to $900. Conservative estimate of the value of the things we are doing is easily twice that, but the plan is only a savings if you use it. Christmas would be a great time to do this, the parks are soooo busy, it is nice to do things other than standard park touring/going on rides.

If you go Platinum it has to be at a deluxe resort. Both plans include deluxe dining (Platinum allows Victoria and Albert's).

We are going in Feb and doing Platinum, these are the activities we are including:
1 hour massage
Dinner at Victoria and Alberts (twice)
Lunch at Brown Derby (I think, still deciding)
Parasailing (you do not get wet)
Wishes cruise
Segway tour in Epcot
Aqua Seas tour
Photo session
La Nouba
We have time to add another tour the second morning if we want to since the aqua tour starts at 12:30, but I don't want to run us too hard.

Wow. Thank you HaleyB. This sounds like something I'd rather hold off for for my spring 11 trip. The first run with the SO is to get on the rides and see the parks. Go in depth next time for relaxation.

I hope you enjoy your trip to the west coast in December. It should be a pretty decent time to come depending on the dates!

We are also planning on doing the platinum package from 7/3 to 7/5 next year and I too was wondering if they would let us do the cruise on the 4th. That would be perfecct, but dont know who to ask about it. We are excited to do this pakcage again.

We have exactly one week until our premium plan stay

....but I have a dilemma. We are going for my 30th birthday and I think I really want a message. One massage is about $150 including tax and grats. Going platinum is only $260. I'm thinking about going platinum but since we will only be there for a few days, I didn't really want to rent a car. We drive every year and we enjoy parking and using Disney transportation to get everywhere. That’s one of the things we love about DW. If we go platinum, it would be worth the price of the two massages alone but it would be crazy not to take advantage of the other perks. I just don't think we can fit it all in the 2 day time period. I also don't know if it is too late to get a Victoria and Alberts ressie. Does anyone know if an upgrade has to be done by a certain time?

No idea, but it never hurts to ask. And don't forget, you can always take a taxi! Oh, and happy birthday!

It looks like we might be there the same time frame too. I want to book the July 4th firework cruise so bad. Our platinum trip in August, I had to reserve our cruise thru our IPO. This concierge service is only available after your package is paid in full. Since the cruise can be booked 180 days out, I might have to resort to paying the package off earlier to secure the boat for July 4th. :sad1:

I believe you can still make changes to your package up to 72 hours of your check in day.
HOWEVER, in order to get the Platinum Plan, you must stay at a WDW Deluxe resort(you prolly know already, hehe) Not having the massages done during our Platinum stay in August was my number one "MISS-planning" If you still have time to switch plan, your number one priority is to call V&A and secure a seating during these few days. Good luck!!:thumbsup2

I have had no problem getting the IPO to make my reservations, and I have NOT paid off my Platinum package. I've only paid a deposit.

I know on Disney Cruise Line you can't book "extras" until you've paid the cruise off, but I don't believe that applies to WDW vacation packages.

I had no trouble getting them to book my reservations this summer either, way before I paid off my package, but I agree,I might pay off early if it would guarantee a 4th of July cruise.

I also have everything booked and have not paid in full. I did have a CL trip booked surrounding the plan night, and the IPO had already made contact, I just gave them my confirmation number for the plan night and they booked everything for me.

My TA told me that the WDW IPO would only be available to assist us after we have paid in full. Well! no harm done! Since we booked thru my TA to get an extra discount(room), we didn't have "direct" access to our reservation. Most communications were directly sent to my TA, then my TA forwarded them to us. After seeing most of you were able to get in touch with your IPO early, I might book my next trip online and give up the room discount.:confused3

I booked with a TA. That doesn't keep you from contacting the IPO. You only need your reservation number.

Ok but somewhere there has to be a grid or chart that shows ALLL options to pick with age range. Totally new to this but LOVING the idea for this June. But when I look at a link provided it just shows the Disney Dining Plan restaurants, etc. Where is the plan explained with "here are your options and this is the cost"......As in tour types, ages, etc....Am I making sense or sounding as confused as I feel???
