Premium Plan for One Night Just for the Tours, LaNouba, etc.??

Our party of 4 was seated in a small side room at Jiko's, and we didn't request it or anything. At first I was bummed because I was hoping for a table closer to the windows, but it was very quiet, we had the most amazing (and funny) server, and it all turned out great. I didn't realize the main dining area was noisy. So now I think we got lucky!

That's where we sat too. The little room was great and it had the private dining room feel to it :thumbsup2

Sorry if this has already been addressed, but does the platinum package give you access to your particular resort's concierge lounge even if you're not booked at CL?

It seems to depend on which resort you stay at, and I am sure it is subject to change w/o notice. Last I saw you did at AKL.

Haven't finished reading the whole thread yet, so if this was answered already, sorry.

On the premium plan - at the Spirit of Aloha Luau and Hoop Dee Do, is it Category 2 and 3 seating only, or can you get category 1?

Category 2 (or presumably Category 3 if you book too late to get Category 2).

we were so disappointed that we cant use the lounge as part of the courtesy with our Platinum plan. I was told that normally AKL/IPO would allow access but during our stay, all rooms were SOLD,; therefore, no luck getting into the lounge. :(

Thank you to everyone on this thread! I never realized there was a premium plan. I thought there was only the platinum plan.

I guess I never paid much attention because my children weren't old enough for many of the activities when we were regular Disney goers.

We had category 1 at the 9:30 pm Hoop show! If we sat any closer to the stage...we would have been on it! I even got to sing into one of the cast microphones!

Did they tell you that if they weren't sold out, that they would have allowed you access? I'm staying at AKL for my platinum night and was hoping to experience the club lounge (though either way it won't make or break the trip).

I actually had a couple of email correspondence with my AKL/IPO about a month before our trip. She had mentioned about the possibility of us gaining access to Kilimanjaro Lounge during our Platinum stay. When we checked back in for the Platinum plan, we were told that since the resort was completely sold out(including the club level) they weren't able to accommodate their platinum(non-club level) guests. No big deal! But it would've been awesome!!

Okay, so I guess it sounds like it's a maybe thing. I'll try emailing our AKL/IPO about it and see what he says. With all of our meals and plans, I doubt we'd have much time to utilize it, but it'd still be neat to be able to at least check it out. Thanks for the quick reply!

Ok, thanks~

Perhaps they can only accommodate so many in the lounge due to fire code, therefore once sold-out, the CL rooms to guests ratio is factored in? :confused3

When we did Hoop under the Plan we booked and were seated in Category 1. We were in the center about 3 tables back. It was a good location too - when the characters started coming off stage the first one - the blond lady - came down and sat in my lap, telling me how much she missed me :woohoo:. The wife and daughter sitting right beside me really enjoyed that ! :rolleyes1

Maybe that was the reason why the CM at the concierge was so "Apologetic" :rolleyes1

We tried to book the steam train tour in June and the CM told us it was no longer being done. Wonder what's up with that?

Could it be it has something to do with the Fantasyland expansion? I remember reading that there would be a period of time where the rr wouldn't be operating due to construction, so perhaps they don't do the tour during that time period either.

I just called to ask about the Steam Trains tour a couple days ago and it's scheduled all through September. Perhaps it was just temporarily offline.

I think they're just generally having issues with the 2011 tours not being programmed in the system properly for Premium/Platinum Plan. I've been trying to get the new Inspirations tour for February and first they said it wasn't in the system yet. Now they're telling me it's not included in Platinum. I emailed the 2011 brochure to the IPO to show them that it IS included for 2011. So far they haven't gotten back to me. No doubt they're trying to get Disney's IT department to straighten it out.

I have a countdown ticker now. :woohoo:
DH wants to go before the "free dining" period. I agreed 100%. Now I have a question for those of you who's done the premium or platinum, but was given a gift card in lieu of the Cirque du Soleil ticket. Please tell me exactly how or what to do. We had just seen La Nouba during our platinum trip(2+ weeks ago) We don't think we want to see it again in May 2011. We are thinking about checking in the platinum plan on a Sunday while it's dark at Cirque. What do you all think? Do you think WDW will offer gift card in the same amount of a show ticket? :goodvibes

I have a question for those of you who have recently done your one night platinum. Can you advise about what time you have to be there for a Wishes cruise, and about how long it lasts? One night of our potential PP Wishes is at 8 pm and the other at 9:30 (Christmas party). Does anyone know if they still do the cruises on party nights? Just trying to work out our schedule, luckily Victoria and Albert's is wide open on availability! :-)
