Premier Passport cost including tax

I am not too concerned about the fp+. We are travelling at what I hope is a very slow time of year and I will use my DAS for the busy rides. I also have to figure in the cost of parking and the magic bands which would be free. So disappointed about the dining discounts. We spend at least $100a day on food so that would be an extra $20 in my pocket.
Even if you're going at what you think is a slow time, I would still try to take advantage of FP+. Some things have only a very limited number of FP+ available (e.g., IllumiNations, fireworks, etc.), so it might not be possible to get a day of FP. Other things, like 7DMT, are very popular and also may not have day of FP+ availability. All in all, if you can get your Premier AP at DLR before heading to WDW, I would do that.

I know nothing about WDW yet. My guide book is on it's way. Can I book the fp+ at 30 days out without tickets? I haven't even looked at My Disney experience yet. On the other hand.... telling my husband the price of 3 adult PPP over dinner tonight was priceless...... bahahaha....good thing he loves me

You can't book FP+ without linked admission media, be they tickets, APs, cast pass, whatever. Until valid admission for that day is linked, it won't let you.

As the PP said, you cannot book FP+ without first having valid admission media associated with each person's MDE account. If you want to get a sense of FP+, checkout the FP+ SuperThread on the Disneyworld board. At this point, it seems unlikely that FP+ is going to come to DLR in the next year, but there was a fairly lively thread about it a few days ago.

I suppose this is late to the comments, but given that you aren't thinking of going until February of 2016, it's possible that the discounts will change by then. The DLR discounts almost always have an expiration date of December 31st (sometimes a mid-year date as well). While they have been renewing the discounts each year, they are subject to change without notice.

The expiration date of 12/31/15 on tickets kind of throws a wrench into the works, but the discounts are just a nice perk.
Going to Disneyland before WDW may end up being problematic. I may have to skip the PPP after all. I would not be able to book any fp+ I get to Disneyland to upgrade.

We bought out AP's last time because we like to spend about 10 days in DL. It's not for everyone but we love to just wander. I am sure we would squeeze in an extra trip before they expired., and since it typically costs about $1500 to fly down we stay longer than 5 days.

Do you normally get Deluxe or Premium? APs make sense if you normally go for one LONG trip, or several smaller trips. It's adding in WDW that's the trouble. Using undercovertourist.com, you can get 7 day tickets for $345 if you bought them right now. Now that's not a hopper. But you could buy it and keep it and it doesn't expire until you start to use it (unlike Disneyland tickets that have expiration dates).

I also have to figure in the cost of parking and the magic bands which would be free.

Get clarifcation on Premier APs and the AP magicbands... With normal WDW APs you get them AFTER your first trip with them. So you buy them and you go to the parks and you activate them (use them) then you get home and you can order the AP MBs. It's entirely possible you have to use them at WDW first, before ordering the MBs. But get clarification. If you're anticipating the APs to be sent before you get to WDW, you could be disappointed if the answer isn't the right one.

And you don't need MBs anyway. Not at all.

Parking is a good point for WDW, but if it's a sister trip, you're not the only one paying for it. And if they are making you go, might make them pay for the parking!

I think I will skip the Premier passports and just upgrade the 5 day hoppers to deluxe AP's at DL, and grab some 5 day passes for WDW. DL is an easy park for me to get around and it is cheaper to fly from Alberta to California vs. Florida. Thanks Dis friends for your help. Very valuable info for a WDW newbie. Now if the Canadian dollar would just get stronger I would be a lot happier.

With any type of annual pass at WDW you will receive FREE PARKING :) so if you decide to get the Premium Pass you will be set.

I'm sure one of the links the above posters sent you had to full list of restaurants that offer discounts. Though there wasn't a huge selection, there were ones I knew I liked last year with my premier pass, if you change your mind again.

I think that is the right move. We are DL AP holders (just Deluxe, not premium) and spent 5 days at WDW this year too. While our DL APs have already paid for themselves in terms of park days and discounts, I could not get the numbers to work out to upgrade to a premier.

And I could be totally wrong on this because I was on the dining plan and that might have skewed the numbers in my head, but it seemed that food was cheaper at WDW than it is at DL. I wonder if there aren't so many APs with discounts floating around at DL that they haven't just marked everything up 10% to account for the discounts.

Sorry, jut want to clarify. Can we upgrade WDW parkhoppers at DL to premier passes.

That's an interesting question because DLR no longer accept WDW tickets for admission media. My guess is that they probably could, but they would need to call WDW ticketing to get everything sorted out before they could issue the Premier AP. Kind of like the situation SMD mentioned (last post, first page), only in reverse because you're starting with WDW tickets.

I don't necessary think the food is cheaper in WDW, just that there are more places to choose from so you might see a wider range of food prices. I spot checked a few items and WDW wasn't consistently cheaper or more expensive. For example, the hot dog at Casey's Corner is more expensive than the one at Coke Corner ($10.29 versus $7.49). The angus bacon cheeseburger was $9.99 at Electric Umbrella and $10.99 at Taste Pilots. So, I think it depends on the item and isn't consistent either way.

OP: I wasn't clear if your 3 day ticket was for DL or WDW.

It is a ticket from a rewards program and has the same value as a hopper. We have upgraded them to DL AP's before. They would be for DL, so I cannot upgrade then to premier passport?

I doubt that you could upgrade WDW tickets to a Premier AP at DL anymore. It might be possible but I personally would not feel comfy counting on that to be possible.

But I thought you had 3 3-day DL tickets? Or do you have 5-day tickets? I'm getting confused. :)

Sorry, when I started this thread I had enough points for 3 day hoppers. However, they had a big promotion this week at Safeway and I now have enough points for 3 free 7 day hoppers at WDW. WOOOOOHOOOOOO! The reason I wanted premier passes is because this will be our last trip pulling our DD out of school during the school year, so our next trip will be at spring break or Christmas and the Premier had no black out dates.

If you want a DL only premium AP then no, you can't use WDW tickets towards that. If you want a premier AP that you can use at both parks, you should call or email DL and ask if you can use an unused WDW tickets towards premier there. It might be worth starting your trip at WDW and just getting the premier there to make upgrading the easiest.

Not sure if this post is still valid, but speaking from experience, no matter where you get your pass upgraded, you will have problems when entering the opposite resort. We upgraded our Premium DL passes 2 years ago at DL to Premier. Guess what? They didn't register on WDW's system... countless trips to Guest Services where they give us another card number that works at WDW... followed later by another stop at DL when the WDW number isn't recognized. You would think buying a pass at over $1k a person, there system would work!! Hopefully they have improved things in the last 2 years. We are upgrading our Premium DL AP's next month in WDW to Premier (we have purchased 2 day park hoppers at WDW as a apart of FD promo that need to figure into the upgrade). I already expect trouble from Guest Services about this transaction! We are staying at WDW for 6 days. and it is cheaper to upgrade than to buy WDW 6 day park hoppers. I already have a headache over this!!

I think this varies by person. I bought my Premier AP at WDW last year, but didn't have any issues the first time I used it at DLR a month later. I was a bit worried, but when I went to the ticket gate, it scanned just fine.

I hope it does run smoothly this time around!

I plan on upgrading our WDW APs to premier passes at DL on Friday. I'm hoping it goes smoothly too......

Update: I ended up getting the 7 day one park per day passes for free and we will only be doing 2 days at DL before we head to Florida for 2 weeks. We are not going to bother upgrading to Premier passes and we will just get 2 day tickets.
