Pregnancy Update

Well I just got back from the Dr.'s office. It seems that this baby does not want to stay inside for much longer. I have been having contractions for about a week now, but never really gave them a second thought. I have known many others who have had contractions for several weeks before the baby came. My Dr. did a "fun" exam on me and said that my cervix is VERY ready for labor but I am not dialated. He told me to expect to go into labor before my scheduled C-section date of July 1. So needless to say, I have been a washing mad woman today. I had to go through several boxes of clothes and assorted baby items. I still need to get to the store to buy a new bouncer and a differnt snap n go stroller. Wish me luck to make it through the weekend--my parents are having out of town guests with them until Monday and a few friends of mine are giving me a informal baby shower Monday night!

I'm a mommy, but I'm not pregnant, just good luck and hope you have an easy labor/delivery. Maybe you will hold out til July 1st, it's a great day (my daughter will be 2 that day). I wasn't supposed to make it through June, but July 1st it was.

Congrats ckmommy, sounds like things are moving along! I am also pregnant, with a due date of 7/1 or 7/2. But - I am soooooo ready to have this baby (DD#2) - I am really hoping that I go early. I haven't been feeling very well the past couple of days - just a bit "off", which I'm hoping is a good sign. My parents are away camping this weekend, so I told my mom I'll probably have the baby this weekend! With DD#1, she was born just after midnight the night before they were leaving for the weekend, so my mom got to see her before they left, but just barely (she came to the hospital around 8:00 am and they were leaving around 11:00). So, this time I figure they'll probably miss it altogether! Plus, DH, who is self-employed, has a big job scheduled for this weekend, which also leads me to believe I'll go into labor and mess up his work schedule! Oh well - he can always reschedule (he has been warning all of his customers that he has lined up for the next couple of weeks that he may have to reschedule due to our impending arrival, so he's not in any danger of losing any business or anything).

I'm due July 4 and my cervix is thin and I'm 1cm dilated, as of yesterday. If I can get to 2-3cm by my next appt on Tuesday, I can be induced early, for fear of another big baby. So, I will probably end up with a June baby after all. Kind of scary to think that I could be having this baby in one week. Good luck to you!!!

Sounds like you are nesting! I bet you go tonight or tomorrow! I cleaned like a mad man and my water broke that night! If you have that baby on June 17 or 18 you have to name it Microcell!

You have me scared! Not only did I just finish doing all of the wash, but I vaccumed, dusted and pledged everything in sight! I have never had the nesting asspect with the other children. I told my DH that I was in the attic looking for a hat for the new baby to come home in, he just laughed. Actually he was a bit upset that I went into the attic at all! I needed to find that hat!! I never did find it though. I really need to make it through the weeked!!!
