Next we made our way over to NEMO. What a great ride! It was fun for both Abby and Aiden and then we went to Turtle Talk with Crush. He was so funny, but Abby did not get picked to talk to him! Oh well, maybe next time!
We were getting hot and a little tired. So, we decided to go ride Spaceship Earth inside of the EPCOT ball. This was hands down one of my favorite rides in the park. I especially love the end when the stars surround you and you feel like you are really floating in space. So wonderful
One quick side note: the WDW strollers are AWESOME! I had heard great things about them but MAN, they really should sell them. They would make a fortune!
At this point, I experienced yet another bump in the road. My in-laws mean well, but they are not planners at all! They would prefer to just walk around and let the day lead them. Well, we DISers know that you see much less of WDW when you do that! My origional plan was to eat lunch at the Tangerine Cafe (we LOVE hummus) and then dinner at the Mexico Pavillion's Cantina de San Angel. We were going to have the men secure a prime table with a view of Illusions about an hour and a half early and drink margaritas while my mother-in-law and I brought the kids to the Grand Fiesta Tour, etc. That way, we would have a nice area to view Illusions with food, drink and bathrooms. I also hear it is the best view of the show!
Well...my in-laws wanted to eat Mexican...NOW...for lunch...Oh well! Here comes "fun mom" again
I gave up and we sat down for lunch. The food was ok, nothing great. It was pretty hot too and there was not much shade. I ended up taking Aiden to the baby center which was a life saver! I could change him in the AC and Abby played in the playroom. I also bought some more babyfood from them. Great service to have
We ended up trying to ride SOARIN but the wait (FASTPASS even) was 2 hours! We did ride that ride (can't remember the name?) when you see the plants that Disney grows themselves. Really informative/interesting! I CAN'T WAIT to ride SOARIN! It is our #1 priority on our next visit!
Afterwards, we just toured the pavillions. How thrilling it was to see all of the countries, one right after another! We ended up at the small Louisiana section beacause we heard a girl, Amanda Shaw, from our town was playing cajun music there. She is amazing! We saw 2 friends from school and it was like a little mini-Louisiana moment! Here are some of the pavillions--
After a decent meal at Liberty Inn (burgers, fries, etc), we only made it down to France. I really would have like to see more of it but all we had time to do was get a beautiful hand painted umbrella for Abby. She picked butterflies, flowers, crowns and her name on a white umbrella. She still loves it today!
We then secured a spot on the bridge to the U.K for Illusions. My in-laws had seen the show before so they were excited to show us. The fire scared Abby a little bit and Aiden slept through it (of course!) but it was really impressive. Our spot did not allow us to see some of the show very well. I was a little disappointed about that. I was especially happy/annoyed to hear my mother-in-law say "See...if you want to see it good, you have to make sure you stand over THERE"---pointing to the Mexican Pavillion!!
I wanted to say "YEAH---I KNOW!" but I decided to enjoy the beautiful evening. I love my MIL
. She really means well! I can not wait to go back to EPCOT. I was so happy about how much Abby enjoyed herself there and we still have so much we have yet to do!
**UP NEXT--This is the day we have been dreaming of...Magic Kingdom!
Will my in-laws stick to the plan or will we waste valuable touring time? Find out next!
