"Practically Perfect In Every Way!" Grand Floridian-Oct 2008*New 12/23 Our Last Day:(

Next we made our way over to NEMO. What a great ride! It was fun for both Abby and Aiden and then we went to Turtle Talk with Crush. He was so funny, but Abby did not get picked to talk to him! Oh well, maybe next time!

We were getting hot and a little tired. So, we decided to go ride Spaceship Earth inside of the EPCOT ball. This was hands down one of my favorite rides in the park. I especially love the end when the stars surround you and you feel like you are really floating in space. So wonderful:love:

One quick side note: the WDW strollers are AWESOME! I had heard great things about them but MAN, they really should sell them. They would make a fortune!

At this point, I experienced yet another bump in the road. My in-laws mean well, but they are not planners at all! They would prefer to just walk around and let the day lead them. Well, we DISers know that you see much less of WDW when you do that! My origional plan was to eat lunch at the Tangerine Cafe (we LOVE hummus) and then dinner at the Mexico Pavillion's Cantina de San Angel. We were going to have the men secure a prime table with a view of Illusions about an hour and a half early and drink margaritas while my mother-in-law and I brought the kids to the Grand Fiesta Tour, etc. That way, we would have a nice area to view Illusions with food, drink and bathrooms. I also hear it is the best view of the show!

Well...my in-laws wanted to eat Mexican...NOW...for lunch...Oh well! Here comes "fun mom" again:cool1: I gave up and we sat down for lunch. The food was ok, nothing great. It was pretty hot too and there was not much shade. I ended up taking Aiden to the baby center which was a life saver! I could change him in the AC and Abby played in the playroom. I also bought some more babyfood from them. Great service to have :thumbsup2

We ended up trying to ride SOARIN but the wait (FASTPASS even) was 2 hours! We did ride that ride (can't remember the name?) when you see the plants that Disney grows themselves. Really informative/interesting! I CAN'T WAIT to ride SOARIN! It is our #1 priority on our next visit!

Afterwards, we just toured the pavillions. How thrilling it was to see all of the countries, one right after another! We ended up at the small Louisiana section beacause we heard a girl, Amanda Shaw, from our town was playing cajun music there. She is amazing! We saw 2 friends from school and it was like a little mini-Louisiana moment! Here are some of the pavillions--

After a decent meal at Liberty Inn (burgers, fries, etc), we only made it down to France. I really would have like to see more of it but all we had time to do was get a beautiful hand painted umbrella for Abby. She picked butterflies, flowers, crowns and her name on a white umbrella. She still loves it today!

We then secured a spot on the bridge to the U.K for Illusions. My in-laws had seen the show before so they were excited to show us. The fire scared Abby a little bit and Aiden slept through it (of course!) but it was really impressive. Our spot did not allow us to see some of the show very well. I was a little disappointed about that. I was especially happy/annoyed to hear my mother-in-law say "See...if you want to see it good, you have to make sure you stand over THERE"---pointing to the Mexican Pavillion!!:rotfl2: I wanted to say "YEAH---I KNOW!" but I decided to enjoy the beautiful evening. I love my MIL :lovestruc. She really means well! I can not wait to go back to EPCOT. I was so happy about how much Abby enjoyed herself there and we still have so much we have yet to do!

**UP NEXT--This is the day we have been dreaming of...Magic Kingdom!:love:Will my in-laws stick to the plan or will we waste valuable touring time? Find out next!

Totally wonderful. You can just see the light in her eyes. It had to be so amazing for her. Even Aiden did well. It's amazing what a good night's sleep can do isn't Mom?

Reading your report is making me anxious about going in Oct. I will be finally able to make ADRs for the 10 of us this Sunday. It can't get here fast enough. Can't wait to read more!

10 of you!!! WOW! Hope you are going to write a trip report:cheer2:

I am sure it was very hard to let go and be out like that. You had already had a long day. I know in the daytime everything will have a different perspective. It looks like Abby was enjoying herself anyway.

Your totally right:thumbsup2 I will try to do the MK uptdate night..we had a great time!

I too love Epcot. Soarin is fantastic. So do ride it next time. I think the ending on Spaceship earth is better also. I have heard both pros and cons. Good pictures. Lovin your little ones.

Hi Katie, I absolutely love the Epcot outfits, so cute! And the ride you went on was Living with the Land in The Land pavillian. I also loved the pics with all the characters! Abby is so cute, its too bad Aiden slept through the character meet and greet.

The 10 of us went together for the first time Apr 2008. It was my parents, me, hubby, twin daughters (then 12), sister, bro in law and 2 nieces (10 & 13 then). It was the first trip for the 4 grandkids and my BIL and the first time back since 1973 for my parents and sister. Hubby and I had been there in 1993. I was the one who did all of the planning and ADRs. Had a BLAST doing it. My parents had soooo much fun being their with their grandkids that they decided to take us all again this year. Now I have the 4 girls helping me plan. My niece who is the youngest has read everything on TGM.

I am hoping that my trip reporting will be as good as yours has been so far. I am looking forward to the next installment. :cheer2:

Good for you. It is so much fun with lots of family. We just did a family of nine and surprises for 2 adults and 2 grandsons. You will like it with the children being a little older too.

Ginny

Didn't mean to hijack Katie.

Sooo glad you were able to see Spectro!! And what a nice man to give you some great seats!! We did 8:00 Akershus, too!! You'll hear about it in my next update. Loved that meal!! You had the same Snow White that we did--she was sooo great with Claire (as you'll see). Sorry your plans didn't turn out like you wanted. We didn't get to see Illuminations b/c of the rain. But we did get to do Soarin'! It was my favorite ride--you HAVE to do it next time!! Love your pics and LOVE Abby & Aiden's outfits! Can't wait to see the other side of them and hear about MK!!! princess:

Katie--I tried to PM you but it's not letting me. Check your settings or try and PM me!! ;)

Well, I'll just hijack back. THis time around my sis is celebrating her bday while we are down there. We will be doing the MNSSHP on the day of her bday. My niece wants to get her a cake so I need to check out the costs for doing that.

The two adults were celebrating birthdays. Hence the surprise issue. It was a secret hard kept.

That is so cool! When I was little my mom dressed me and my older sister in Hanna Anderson and other nice things all the time, except in Disney World, then we could wear normal clothes, but we still had to match :rotfl:

I get the Hanna Anderson catalog all the time! Seems like me and your mom would get along very well:love: I try not to go too overboard, but it is just so cute and I can only get away with it for a little while when they are young...or does your mom still make you match??

Haha, no but she tries sometimes :rotfl:. But my sister has a 2 year old and they live with us so my mom likes to get her Hanna Anderson and Jack and Janie clothes and dress her up in them. Jessica loves it.
