Will any of the limo services fit a Pride Jazzy power chair? I need this info for my Mom who is traveling in March. If the answer is no, what have any of you done for getting your power chairs from the airport to WDW

Thanks so much for your time and help:wave:

We were considering taking DD's power chair to WDW last year, so I did do some checking. At that time, the only alternative I could find was Mears, which does have some wheelchair accessible vans. Several DIS posters have used this service and were pleased with it. Hopefully someone who has transported a power chair will be along to help.
One person has also posted about using Yellow Cab: (407) 669-9999
They have several Voyager sized vans with ramps and lowered floor at the rear and wheelchair tie downs. They will hold 4 passengers plus one regular size wheelchair or one passenger plus a wide sized chair.
This is sort of an evolving field. Since the companies are needing to provide wheelchair access to comply with the ADA, you may find that by next March, they all have alternatives.

I *always* use Mears wheelchair vans.

The price (for two people) is less than a limo.

Because the van can take two wheelchairs max, you stand a very good chance of going straight to your hotel with no stop-offs along the way. A limo service for the cost of a bus!!!

I have used Mears wheelchair vans on four trips no. Three out of four trips from the airport to Disney and all of our return trips we were the only passengers.

In response to your other post I would never worry about using Disney transport, which I have always found prompt, fast and accessible. Whenever I come to Florida from the UK, I always have a fly-drive deal with a rental car because it is cheaper than buying flights only.

However, I never collect my rental car - that's how good Disney's transport is.

Interesting into, thanks. Mom will be with a group of 6, making 7 total. That is why thinking of Limo service but than we need to think of the chair. Mears shuttle is actually more when you get that many people. Disney transport is great for getting to the parks in the morning and leaving at night. It is the switching during the day, water parks in the afternoon, pleasure island at night stuff that can have you doing transfers and 2 hour one way trips  We are now looking into Dial-a-ride *crossing fingers* for good news.

we have used mears 6 times now and will use them again this dec. have always loved the service. we emailed yellow taxi(which is owned by mears)about rates to areas around disney and the shortest trip was to Publics on 192 and they said the price would be about $14. so most trips on WDW would be less then that and can accomadate 7 people with the wc.
