OK, I admit it, I'm a sucker for these nature films. I remember watching them when I was a kid, and I've enjoyed all of the new ones so far. Disney just released the first poster for the next Disneynature film - Chimpanzee coming Earth Day 2012.

I'm not going to post a lot of info here, but if you're curious for more photos, trailers, and film details, you can find it in the thread over on the Disney Movies, Books, TV, and Music boards.

Eh, I'm not really interested in Chimpanzees. :confused3 I've never been a monkey person. Although I must admit those eyes are amazing! He is pretty cute. Now, when they do "Parrot", I'm there! :thumbsup2

"Parrot" funny! :lmao:

I must admit I find monkeys, chimps, and apes pretty fascinating - although I'm a little worried about how much anthropomorphizing they do in the films. I know Jane Goodall's involved with this one though, so I have high hopes.

WE missed the Cats one. Lives got too busy when it was released. My daughter loves monkeys and apes so we will definitely have to make a point to go. "Oscar" in the poster is beautiful!

So looking forward to this film...Jane Goodall is someone I admire greatly. Thanks for the heads up!

I'm intrigued by monkey, chimps and apes, also. The Columbus Zoo near me has a great primate section, including a large number of bonobos. Watching them is amazing, how they interact.

One time when I was there, one of the males was swinging all over the place, showing off for one of the females, who was pointedly ignoring him. On one swing, he mis-calculated, and smashed his foot into the wall, injuring his toe. He ran off to a corner to sulk and nurse his bruised toe (and ego!) The female went over to him, tried to be nice to him, but he just sulked & turned his back on her. Their behavior was so human, it was amazing!

I just remembered there is an avian Disneynature film coming up. It's not "Parrot", but it's titled: THE CRIMSON WING: Mystery of the Flamingos. Maybe this is the 2013 release?
