I am about the same age as Shadeaux and have those memories plus:

learning to drive stick shift on my dad's brand new $1995 Pinto, Fizzies, Wathcing Sea Hunt and Sky King on TV, my silver circle pin with my monogram, Chatty Cathy doll.

And when I took computer programing in college, I had to key punch cards and submit them for the program to be run. Came back hours later to pick up the green and white printout to see if the program worked on dumped on me.

What a great walk down memory lane this is.:)

I remember when the only exercise show on tv was Jack LaLanne.

Howdy Doody, Winky Dink and You (used a piece of plastic over the TV screen and used crayons to help Winky). My dad's new '50 Hudson, 5 cent streetcar, free if I was with my bother, $5 a month Catholic school.

And yes, Marilyn, I remember Two Ton Baker, along with Beanie and Cecil.

I still have my talking Chatty Baby doll. :)

I stood in line for several hours to see Star Wars and Jaws made me want to NEVER go back in the water!

JohnTBap.... I was born four days before they landed on the moon. My mom likes to kid me that they brought me back from the moon. Anyone know the date without searching for it???

I rememeber cable with the 'remote' attached by a cable - the descrambler was just a piece of aluminum you could move just by taking the cover off.

Thriller!!!

men dressed in suits and women wore dresses and high heels when they traveled by plane. We wore nylon stockings not panty hose---they wasn't available then. Personal computers----ya, like buck rogers---people would just shake their heads. I remember using a slide rule -----who would think hand calculators would be the norm. New technology was the 8 transistor radio----( DH still has one that works great). Households only had one car and moms stayed home to raise the kids. girls were not allowed to turn out for after school sports. I remember when Mount St. Helens had a top---Ok that was only 22 years ago---but I was 28 when that happened. I remember our FHA club would make packages to sent to the troops in Viet Nam----That was in the late '60's.

As a country we have come so far. I wonder what new inventions I will miss out on becasue I was born to soon.

I grew up with Happy Days, Laverne and Shirley, and Duke's of Hazard.. My mom wouldn't let me ride in a chevy nova, and I rollerskated on 4 wheels...two in the front and two in the back....at a roller rink, on Saturdays...

Ditto for me with the exception of riding in a Chevy Nova. I too had 8-tracks and 45's.
