Post pics of your bag you carry into park

After looking at ALL 48 pages worth of pictures, I decided on the Vera Bradley Hipster and Heys Travelmate!! I ordered two of the $20 hipsters (Botanical and Mesa Red). Then I ordered a pink travelmate! And I know that my son and daughter-in-law are getting me another bag for mother's day!!! My husband made a "more bags?" comment when I told him what I ordered, but I told him that since we're going to be there for 2 weeks, he wouldn't want me to get bored or not have something to match all of my outfits!! lol :rotfl: I don't think that he found the humor in my words!! :confused3

Just got back. I have a fanny pack, VB hipster, baggelini, overland donner (actually do love this one) but the bag that I used the most and which was seriously LOVED by the security guards was a clear plastic backpack. Ended up just using it as the Only bag for most of the trip. We were traveling with more than usual as DS is only 1 and needed baby supplies but it has been proven to me that the clear backpack is the way to go.

I carry the Eagle Creek Parent Survival backpack. My DS is no longer in diapers, so we just took the changing pad out. Great bag!

I was considering getting the Heys Travelmate but when I wrote the company and asked how long the strap extended to, they told me 24". - Really don't believe them honestly. That' s only 12" in front and 12" in back - not nearly long enough.

However, the Overland Donner bag extends to 47" and can be an across body bag or a fanny pack so if I want to switch it up I can.

Think I decided! :)

This is are the things I packed into my baggallini for my trip. I may have had a few other smaller things, but you'll get the general idea. Also I didn't have a small water bottle, so I used the next best thing I had to show you size. I also put my wallet inside to show you that it could fit there, but I actually had it on the back side of the bag since there is a zipper on the back side, I used that for safe keeping.

This is the stuff that you saw laid out inside of it.

This is a picture of the front zipper compartment, next pic is of the bag it's self from a side angle.

Hi!! I have not used my VB cargo sling YET in the parks, but I plan to in 19 days, but who's counting:goodvibes. I have been using it around town to get used to it and be sure that I like it. YES! you can fit water bottles in the side pockets. In fact, before I bought mine, I ran out to my car and brought my water bottle in and tried it. I just went to the frig and checked and both a 12oz and a 16.9 oz Dasani bottle fit just fine in the pockets. That was a must for me! I have the VB hipster and have loved it in the park, but also used my Disney water strap and this year wanted to carry a bigger camera and water all in one bag to some of the parks, so this seems like a win win. Hope this helps!! You should be able to find these for 1/2 price right now:)

I was looking at the cargo sling also. I was wondering, is the strap long enough to go across the body? Or do you have to wear it on one shoulder? Is the strap adjustable? Do you happen to have a picture of it with the water bottles in it?

thanks!

Millie, what color is your baggallini? Is that the Periwinkle? Its pretty. And I'm glad to see it fits all those things so well.

Is that Baggallini the Rip Stop or the Crinkle?

That's the bag I'm getting! YAY!!! I'm so glad you posted those pics to show how stuff fits. I can sort of plan out what I need to put in it for the day.

The strap is extra long and can go crossbody or be shortened for on your shoulder. Lots of room inside with slip pockets for organization. The reason I'm not using mine at WDW is it's not waterproof and larger than what I need. Kind of sticks out and I think I'd be bumping little kids in the head with it.

Honeybee, that's the ripstop fabric on the Baggallini. I have one of those too, in red (although that's a very pretty shade of purple)...and that's my Disney Bag.

The strap is plenty long to wear across the body, which I do most of the time. I also sometimes wear it on my shoulder(depends upon what I am wearing) you know..like it might "look better or feel better" on the shoulder if I have a jacket on or something. The strap adjusts very easily and is very comfortable.
I don't have a pic right now,but when my tech savvy son gets home from school, I'll see what I can do.:)

Thanks! Since it can go across the body, I'm trying to figure out if it would be good for Universal and Sea World days. On those days, I take more with me because we don't have a break on those days and we don't have a dining plan at those places. I don't want it to be so big that it gets in the way, but at the same time I might need more room than the smaller bags give me. Hmmm... the dilemma!! :rotfl:

No, that's actually the purple baggallini. :lovestruc I love my purple bag and the one they call pink, but it's actually fuscia (hoped I spelled that right). Those two colors are my favs. I'm so glad the pictures helped. The periwinkle is a much lighter color than the one your seeing in the picture. :)
Personally I like the darker in the colors because I wanted to keep dirt from showing, but I'm sure there are down falls to the darker color in the warmer weather, although I didn't experience it when I went to WDW last June since it was cloudy and rainy. I love this bag for all the features, all the little pockets and places to tuck things into, it's also an amazing bag for fitting most of what you would want without using a huge bag, and a perfect fit if you need something a little more substantial than a wallet type bag. It's not over whelming to have it on you and it's very versital, you can take it on any ride and won't have to take it off and on all day like a backpack, you just swoop it around to the front side of your body and your ready to ride or get out of it what you need! :lovestruc It's a great bag! :woohoo:

The Rip Stop. ;) I'm so glad I could help you.
I hope you have a magical time when you go. pixiedust:

After lurking on this thread for a while, and spending some money as a result of it ;) , I'm still looking at bags! I have a variety of regular shoulder bags/cross body bags that I usually use as purses, but I found out on my most recent Disney trips that a sling bag works better for me (I get fibromylagia shoulder pain, and didn't realize the extra stress from the typical bag worn cross body was causing more pain...I didn't have any pain with the small sling backpack bag!)

I got the Ful Peabody from Target (on clearance last fall!) (http://www.shoebuy.com/ful-peabody/227653/489251), and I really like it. However it does have it's drawbacks, like the one big pocket in the center with no dividers, and things get lost. While I sew and could add dividers (I've done it to other bags), instead I came back here to look for something better!

I was looking at Disneyshopping.com, and saw the Disney Cross Over Sling bag (http://disneyshopping.go.com/disney...es-Create-Your-Own-Disney-Crossover-Sling-Bag). Has anyone bought this bag? Is it well constructed? How adjustable is the strap? On the picture, it seems the strap doesn't expand too much.

Can everyone chime in on what type of bag they bring with them to the parks? I keep seeing Women's baggallini MES160 Messenger Bagg or the Women's baggallini WBS107 Wallet Bagg (SM) listed as a good choice.
Thoughts?

Has anyone used a Le Sportsac backpack? I saw one at Macy's the other day that looked pretty nice (it's a smaller backpack), but at $88 I just couldn't bring myself to buy it. I think there's yet a smaller style for $60, which I may consider because smaller backpacks are hard to come by these days, I just wanted to know if anyone had ever used their backpack. I used a cross-body Le Sportsac bag during my last Disney trip, but I don't want to deal with the strap across my chest this time around.

Just wanted to chime in here...We bought a waist pack from this website and used it last weekend at Busch Gardens and Seaworld.

At first glance, these bags look a little cheap, but ours really held up well and is even waterproof. And the prices are great...

We had 3 ponchos ($1 emergency kind), small tube of pain meds, small tube of dramamine, hand sanitizer, bandaids, package of pb & crackers, small fan, car key, and money in it and everything fit with room to spare. Hubby had the camera in his pocket and we just carried a bottle of water in hand. So, while this may not be ideal for those with smaller children who need diapers, wipes, extra clothes, etc., it worked great for us. And I didn't have to store it in a locker in order to ride the coasters. I know Disney pretty much lets you take your bags on any ride, but BG, SW, US, and IOA won't let you take any loose bags on the bigger rides. However, if you have a waist pack attached to your body, it's not considered loose!!!

Hope this helps...

Question for you Baggallini Messenger lovers: Does it actually hang right up against your back or is it more like an on the side kind of position? This bag looks great, but I can't imagine having a loaded bag covering a good part of my back in the heat that is Disney in August! :scared1: Just wondering, as in the photos with the mannequin it clearly appears to be across half the back.

Can anyone recommend a small(ish) backpack?

I've been tempted to buy a Baggallini but I have issues with cross-body bags. Being a woman and (forgive me if this is too much information) rather endowed, I don't like the 'separation' caused by the strap. One shoulder purses slip too easily and get in the way, so I've decided to start looking into backpacks. I just don't want the kind of monsters I took to school. :rotfl2:

Ok I feel the SAME way about the strap between the chest! I have the bagallini urban backpack. I carry it all summer instead of my regular purse. I can fit my camera, small bottle of water, sunscreen, sunglass etc in it. I love it.

I might be going with a Vera Bradley backpack for my upcoming May trip. I'm a little worried about carrying all my money etc on my back.
