Post pics of your bag you carry into park

That looks a lot like the baggallini messenger...those aren't leather and the rip stop isn't too much more expensive than that. Maybe that one would work for you?

I am thinking about this one. I wish it were not leather though!

That bag is very similar to a canvas type one that O got at the Animal Kingdom last December. I absolutely love it!!! The other thing I like is that it is washable too! I actually will be trying to get another one on my upcoming trip.
I love the style - it has room for alot.

I FINALLY found a purse I like and ordered it. I read this entire thread this weekend- looked at all the purses, looked thru ebags, etc. I like some things about most of the bags I saw- the Vera Bradley Hipster is nice but I wanted a solid color and couldn't find the microfiber. The Baggalini is just not me because I don't carry that much into the parks. I found this bag on the Fossil website- it looks similar to the Hipster, is a nice kahki color and is the size I need. Will update once it arrives.

I just bought this bag in the olive color. I absolutely love it. Thanks for the link.

I can't believe I just read this entire thread! Whoohoo!

I have a few qualifications for a good travel bag.
1) my stuff has to fit in it. ;) That means a small wallet, a camera, cell phone, sunglasses, small pill container, and a new requirement, my Sony eBook, which goes *everywhere* with me! :thumbsup2
2) it has to be light-weight, as I have a VERY bad back (which has made wearing fanny packs out of the question).
3) it needs to sling across my neck for security.
And 4) it needs to have a secure pocket against my body for money, tickets & other "valuables".

I used an Eagle Creek bag for YEARS, but it finally gave up the ghost, so I'd been hunting for a new bag for ages. The only similar thing Eagle Creek makes now just wasn't right. I bought a Travelon Messenger bag, but it was in a microfiber, and way too heavy for me, and just didn't fit the things I needed to carry. Just not comfortable. Only got used once. I also bought a Baggallini City Bagg, but found that after I'd loaded everything into it, the flap closure wouldn't close! Got returned immediately.

Earlier this year, I recently bought another Baggallini that I found at a the Luggage Galleria. It's the Baggallini Around Town Bagg, and I got it in a very cute blue crinkle nylon with an orange (!) lining.

I took this bag on my ABD with me. It was a really nice bag, but, for some reason, just did not work for me. I think part of it was the shape. It was wider than it was tall, and I found things (like my camera) got buried in the main compartment, and were very hard to get to. It was very comfortable to carry, so I was a little disappointed it didn't work out better.

Then I was at another Luggage Galleria, and found what seems to be the perfect bag for me. It's the Travelon Anti-Theft Travel bag. I'd read about this line of bags on a couple of different forums, and was afraid they'd be too heavy, as the bottom is reinforced with an un-slashable mesh. (This can be a big problem if you travel in Europe, as a lot of the "pick-pockets" have taken to slashing the bottoms out of bags to get at the contents.) The shoulderstrap, also, has an unslashable cord in it. But I'm glad I found it at the store, and was actually able to try it out. It was very light, very organized, lots of pockets & pouches. I haven't taken it to Disney yet (soon!) but I took it on a trip to Chicago & another one to Seattle, and it did *very* well, and I got a lot of compliments on it. I'm not totally thrilled with the color (I only found it in the "sage", which *is* much greener than the picture shows, and the only other color it comes in is black) but it actually has a *very* cute striped interior. Wish they'd made that the outside! It has a water bottle holder on the outside (stretch mesh inside a zippered pocket) although it's a bit shallow for more than a small bottle.

It's nice, in that it has the front flap for security, but the flap does not cover the zipper for the main compartment, so I can get stuff in & out of that compartment without the hassles people seemed to have with the Heys bag. And it has a zippered compartment against my body. It has a cell-phone pocket, also but I'm too paranoid to carry my cell-phone in an easy-access external pocket...

Just thought I'd throw my 2-cents' worth in.

Does anyone have the eBags brand Piazza bag?

I was wondering if I could fit a DSLR camera in the main part of it.

http://www.sierratradingpost.com/i/97469,,2_Overland-Equipment-Placer-Bag-.html

I purchased the Overland Equipment Placer bag for our trip next March. I wanted to try it out for a while before we go to see how Ilike it. I have it in black.

I typically am carrying a small wallet, sunglass case, keys, lipstick, makeup tube, a few kleenex. Plenty of room. I will carry different things at Disney, but I think it will work fine size wise. I like that it has a main zipper compartment, as well as a velcro front side which is where I keep my makeup essentials.

It is very lightweight (I only considered bags that showed a weight of 10 oz. If the empty bag was over a pound, I knew it was going to be too heavy when loaded. It also fits comfortably across my body so I don't have to wear on my shoulder.

One thing I do not like is that the interior is black. (I guess because I bought the black bag) You cannot SEE anything inside it and have to feel around for what you want.

I am still looking.... I may just buy another bag to try out before we go. :)

I do want to suggest that you check Sierra Trading Post as well as ebags. Neither is always the best deal, and both are always having "sales", especially if you sign up for their emails.

I have the Piazza bag and my camera fits inside. It's not a DSLR, but it's a similar size. According to Amazon, the camera is Dimensions (W x H x D): 5.0 x 3.7 x 5.1 inches. You can see a pic of the camera at http://www.amazon.com/Fujifilm-Fine...Optical/dp/tech-data/B000GFWFZ2/ref=de_a_smtd .

Hope that helps!

Thanks very much. :) I would probably be able to fit my Sony A350, but maybe not my favorite 28-300mm lens...not too sure about that though. Since eBags has free returns, I think I'll order it and give it a try.

I have a nylon drawstring bag similar to this…. http://www.shopadidas.com/product/i...opGroup=R&cp=2019628.2106700.2106712&colorId=

It works for the basics… digital camera, cell phone, poncho or light sweatshirt, hat, and small wallet or ziplock bag (to keep things dry) with id/money/tickets.

It gets the job done and squishes easily for rides.

If you have less stuff a moderate sized camera case usually works as well.

I only carry my own stuff, so I've learned to travel light into the parks...

I actually bought it at my resort because I forgot to bring a bag with me to Disney;) But I love it, nonetheless, and was worth the money:D

It fits my camera, park pass, coins (for pressed pennies) and my sunglasses. I can also fit the park maps and times guide in there:)

Also, I store stuff on the outside as well. I have a clip-on waterbottle holder, my Magical Gatethering Pin:goodvibes and my pedometer.

I always used to use an Adidas slingbag when I was really little. :upsidedow But more recently, I have used my Vera Bradley hipster in Peacock which I think cost around $50? It works well.
Next trip, I'm going to use this new Marc by Marc Jacobs that I got a little while ago. It's kind of expensive for a "park bag" ($158), but I know it's durable and will do well in Disney. It fits everything I need (camera, cell, among other things) and I can either wear it crossbody or I can shorten the strap and just wear it on my shoulder. :thumbsup2

Hopefully not posted already...as I'm skimming this I see that a lot of you shop at ebags. They are having a promotion until 12/10/08. If you use promo code below you get 20% off. Some bags excluded.

COMJCABIN

It works on the Baggalini bags.

I was at a home show over the weekend for a company called Thirty One Gifts, and they have an organizing shoulder bag that is just a great size, and has lots of zippered pockets & compartments, and an adjustable shoulder strap that can go on the shoulder or across the body. It was a really nice size & well constructed. I bought one in the "woven brown". Looking forward to using on my next, next trip to the World (won't get it in time for this trip!)

It's on page 15 of this pdf:

We use a camelback backpack. We have lots of water easily accessible all day and it is big enough to hold all of our essentials, but not so small that it becomes cumbersome. They are very well designed too so no shoulder pain.

My last trip I used my Vera bucket tote ... it worked great!

I fit my Sony Alpha-100 DSLR camera, my extra zoom lens, poncho, little bottle of Advil, some moleskin, and my cellphone... with room to spare. I got a new matching all in one wristlet/wallet that I clipped to the shoulder strap. It made it much easier than digging thru my bag for my wallet/money/tickets. I used the wallet clip to hook thru my refillable mug too... it didn't bother me, so I able to take my full mug in the am and fill it up on the way back, without the extra trip to and from my resort room:goodvibes

It was a solo trip...so I didn't need to drag a ton of stuff around... but it worked so well, I'll use it again, and make DDs carry their own stuff!
