Hi there,
We have booked a day room at the MCO Hyatt post cruise. We will be using Disney transfers to get to the airport from the ship. Two questions:
1- where does the Disney transfer drop off at MCO? Will it be close to the Hyatt?
2- can we get rid of our luggage before going to the day room or do we keep it until we leave the room and go check in for our flight?

Never been to MCO so not sure of the proximity of the Hyatt to the airport.

Thanks in advance!

1 - The Hyatt is indicated by the oval at the top of the map (in the airport). The DCL transfers drop off at the lower level (under Ticketing counter E) on the lower right.

2 - there variables. Are you flying on a domestic flight that same day? Are you participating in the Onboard Airline Check in? If yes, then you won't see your bags from the time you put them out the night before until you get to your home airport.

What time is your flight? What airlines? If you're checking in your own bags, most airlines won't accept checked bags earlier than something like 3 (maybe 4) hours prior to the flight, so you might have to keep it with you until at least then.

Thanks for your reply! That map is very helpful but kind of confusing. We would go up the escalator to Level 4 then through security to the Hyatt? Then when we leave we go back through security on both ends to get to Gates 1-29? I called DCL today to inquire about the luggage meeting us at home post cruise and they told me I had to have booked my return flight through Disney. I didn't know that or maybe I was misinformed. I saw the Onboard Airline check in but haven't tried it. Here is our flight home info: JetBlue departing at 8:16 pm.

No, the security checkpoints are to get into the gate areas. The escalator goes up from there, you don't go through security.

No, no, you don't have to have had your airline booked through DCL to participate in the Onboard Airline Check in. This was the information for it from our last cruise:
The requirements are below
    • You must have purchased DCL Air and/or DCL Ground Transfers
    • Your flight has to leave from Orlando International Airport after 11:30 am on the same day your cruise vacation ends.
    • Your flight must be on a participating airline:
AirTran Airways (no longer in business)
Alaska Airlines
American Airlines (USAirways merged)
Delta Air Lines
JetBlue Airways
United Airlines

· Your final destination must be within the U.S. (including Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands)
· Each luggage piece can weigh no more than fifty (50) pounds.
· Airline specific baggage fees may apply and can vary by airline. Please check with your specific carrier for more details.
· Applicable airline baggage fees will be posted directly to your shipboard account.
· Some Guests may be selected to check in at the airport and may not be able to use this service.

You would be eligible for it. And, it would be really nice as you wouldn't have to wrangle your bags from ship to bus, to Hyatt to airline.

Jet Blue, DCL transfers, and I assume a domestic flight = onboard airline checkin. Most excellent. Say goodbye to your checked bags the last night of your cruise, say hello to them when you get to your home airport. It is seriously the best invention. :) It does require being careful when packing (I personally make lists before we leave home to make sure I'm packing the right stuff and leaving out the right stuff (clothes AND SHOES for the flight home! DH packed my shoes one cruise and I had a cross-country flight in my flipflops, brrrrr).

The hotel is IN the airport. It's also a great thing.

I was playing around with my camera's "miniature" setting, so forgive the fact that it looks like I was playing with models... This is a view from our Hyatt room's inside balcony, overlooking the main, and *public*, pre-security, area.

Hyatt day room is awesome. One of our best cruise investments since we had evening flights out of MCO. We used the pool deck, we napped. Sooooo much better than sitting at a gate.

Consider this another thumbs up for the day room. If you do opt to wrangle your luggage, you can get a luggage cart in the airport upon arriving. They do allow those in the Hyatt lobby. You cannot take it to your room though. Ticketing is alooking very close to the hotel. We got ours from the hotel to southwests counter (4 pieces plus carryons) with little difficulty this last weekend.
