With so many negative comments on BCV I thought it would be nice if we started a thread that only had positive comments for it. If anyone has had any great trips there and/or would like to share things they love about the resort please post. I think it would be a boost to those of us who own there and/or have upcoming trips planned there. Would ease some of the worrying. Thanks to all who share!

I'll start with the great location to Epcot!

We have only stayed in a Beach Club hotel room a few years ago, before the Disney cruise. We loved it. We had a blast in the pool (we were lucky, it was winter, but great weather). The location was awesome, and it was so much fun to walk over to Epcot in the evenings for dinner. We'll be in a two bedroom in January (my parents, 2 kids and husband) for our second DVC trip (first time OKW) and I am counting the days. We're from RI, so by January we will be sooo ready to leave!

Sand under your toes and eating too much ice cream (Can you tell I watch Samantha Brown when I can't be there for my BCV fix?)

Thank you Shan!

A nice quiet pool, a nice view of Epcto when you get it, an alligator and last December our room was perfect and the CMs were great!

BCV is a great hotel in a great location. Don't let what a few people say about it (often in jest) too seriously.

There are so many nice things about the BCV.
The pool
The location to EPCOT
The solarium
The decor
The quietness
The choice of restaurants within walking distance

Can't beat the location. I love being able to walk to EPCOT and quick access to MGM and Boardwalk. I take my car so we can be at Blizzard Beach or DTD in about 5 minutes!:)

Great thread! There are so many wonderful things about BCV, not to knock the other resorts; each has it's own flavor. I knew for years I wanted to buy DVC but didn't til BCVs opened because first and foremost we love the location, we loved stayed at the BC resort, love Stormalong Bay. When I saw the model, I loved the decor (light and airy~you felt as though you were at a seaside cottage). There are so many options available to you at BCV where you don't need a car; you can take Friend ships or walk in addition to bus. And you're in close proximity to world class dining, just minutes in any direction.

We've had three stays at the BCV (one each in a studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom), and are about 50 days away (Hooray!) from our fourth stay (two-bedroom dedicated). All three previous stays were wonderful... The room was always clean and comfortable. We love the kitchen and the master suite in the villas. (I don't know if we'll ever talk ourselves into "settling" for a studio again!) Our kids really enjoy SAB, and we all love being right outside of Epcot's back door.

To quickly hit some of the usual items on the laundary list: Despite that fact that I am very warm-natured, I have had no problems with the often-discussed climate control. My "I want my bath water HOT" wife has had no complaints about the water temperature. And I believe (based on comments read here) that I must be one of the very few that actually find the system of doors around the villa's bathroom to be very flexible and functional, and not the least bit irritating or mystifying. :teeth:

Despite Disney's usually-commendable quality control, I believe that there will be temporary slips in quality at each of the resorts from time to time, from the All Stars to the Grand Floridian. But so far, we have been completely pleased with our selection of the BCV as our home resort. We can't wait for the next trip! :hyper: ::MickeyMo

I love BCV and am glad we waited to buy there. Love being close to Epcot but away from the hustle and bustle around the lake. We like the non-pool views for the peace and quiet.

Love the desk, kitchen table, close parking and colors.

BCV is our favorite resort to stay, the kids love the pool, and having b&c so close for ice cream, boat ride to mgm, walking to epcot, boardwalk, , s&d. gives us plenty of places to eat. we love the 2 bedroom , 1 bedroom and the studio at the BCV, very colorful, bright and clean. we love it, because its our home resort and couldnt wait to buy at the BCV:sunny:

I think I'd just chalk up the negative BCV comments to jealousy. We think it's the best onsite resort with the excellent location, amenities, quietness, improved room layout, decour, parking proximity, pools and interior spaces. Each owner should like thier resort the best for their own reasons, more power to them. Each has great reasons to. BCV can't be counted on for great views, although we are perfectly happy overlooking the pool area. We like the "Grand Floridian" of the Crescent lake area the best for tons of reasons, another one being the oppotunity for friends to stay at the Dolphin for the great rates they have, and be right next door. There are at least 20 restaraunts within walking distance around Crescent lake if you don't count Epcot walking distance restaraunts.

   Did you read any of those negative comments? Those weren't simple resort bashing comments, they were trip reports. People really encountered problems. And then when they report them, you call them jealous. That's pretty low.

Hoping to have lots of positive comments when we get back...we'll be at the BCV this weekend and BWV next week!

Personally I haven't really seen any BCV resort bashing here (though I have seen mention of specific problems)...and even the BWV bashing has calmed from what it used to be....but I'm always thrilled to see great reports!

I just returned from my 4th trip to BCV. I have had some minor things, like a broken TV, missing broom, lights burnt out, but all have been fixed quickly with a phone call! I have not experienced any of the problems others have had. The water tempature is actually too hot for me and was fine for my Mother, who takes a bath in water hot enough to burn your skin. The air conditioning worked just fine.

In my opinion, this resort has it all. I love the location, the decor, the atomosphere and the themeing. I love to walk on the beach in the early morning or late at night, it is just so peaceful. I love being able to hop on over to Epcot in only 5 minutes if I want to eat at one of the fabulous resturants there. Or the fabulous resturants right at YC & BC. They come in really handy on rainy days when you don't want to go out to a park and get wet, you can walk there completley covered! I have been lucky enough to have a room with a view of Illuminations. The kids love to come home, get in the thier PJs and go out on the balcony and watch the fireworks. It is just so close you feel like you are practically there. Oh, and did I mention Room Service!

Well, I think aprt of the problem sometimes is that Disney builds people's expectations up too high. Any resort thing like WDW is going to have some quirks, problems, call them whatever you want. IMHO, what's important is how they handle "fixing" the problem. And I also think that people have to "modify" their opinions of what would be an appropriate "fix". I mean, I have seen posts by folks who wanted free nights etc because they didn't get their requested view. I think the fix needs to equal the severity of the problem. The response needs to be proportionate to the problem.

Whenever I have encountered a problem at any WDW resort, DVC or non-DVC, I generally make a call and it's fixed. I have, on a couple of occasions, had to make a 2nd call, but if it's something minor, such as a missing pot in the DVC kitchen, well...so what????? Sometimes my reason for calling is to let them know right away , so I don't get blamed for stealing the missing item!!!!!;) Any time the problem has been something more significant, ie-plumbing or electricity issue, it's been fixed very promptly.

I think the BCV is a great resort. I don't recall ever having a problem there, I don't recall the AC being not cool enough, the water pressure being too low or anything else. I do recall the nice people, the great location, the marvelous pools, the lovely hot tubs, and all the wonderful dining places within walking distance. The sundaes at Beaches and Cream aren't bad either!!!!!!;)

Let's get our facts straight before inaccurately and mistakenly characterizing anyone's post as "low" Jimbo, the following poll (read 'data') shows how often people read BCV as being unfairly "bashed" when compared to other resorts:
http://disboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=421276
with OKW only having a slight 2 vote lead. Given the huge home owner membership of OKW comnpared to the much smaller owner membership of BCV, that's significant in my book. Trips reports are certainly legitimate, I'm not saying they are not, but the poll results indicate there is plenty of non-legitimate unfair criticism of BCV, more than many other DVC resorts.

Anyway, back to positives:

I like the BCV room layout. Table seats 8. Bathroom layout nice, Desk in bedroom in BCV.
BCV is newer.
Seemed slower and a little more quiet and relaxed than BC, YC and BWV, yet still close to activities.
Distance to the elevator is nice.
Nice Quiet pool
Lots of nice internal spaces for when it's raining, drawing room, breezeway, solarium, BC lobby.
Sandcastle club availability
Outstanding location, boat to MGM, walk to Epcot, Baordwalk area activities closeby, swan and Dolphin restaraunts.
Love the Beach Theme
Great at access to Beach Club amenities, and restaraunts, Jellyrolls, stores, Beaches and Cream, Arcade, etc.
Prefer the sand beach along crescent lake instead of the boardswalk
SAB is nice
Nice Beach Club Workout facility.
Nice access to the parking lot
Bus service fine.
Hotel services available like in-room dining, valet services, front staff.
Nice entrance to the resort walking in BC entrance with large fresh flower arrangements, sometimes music in lobby (saw harpist) front door greetings.
Marina activites, can take boats to see illuminations.
Nice access to parking lot for villas, closer than valet for many units. Just go in the back door or walk along the canal to the middle elevator
Second elevator available in the middle of the resort for pool, parking access.
BCVs has access to a marina along with the YC and BC.

We greatly enjoy our visits to the "Grand Floridian" of the Crescent lake area.

A voice of reason, How nice. Things can and do go wrong in every property that is a fact of the hospitality bussiness not resort bashing.

BCV
Are great because SAB is a fabulous pool.
Beaches and Cream has the best cheeseburgers this coming from someone who doesn't eat meat go figure:rolleyes:
You can not beat the walk to Epcot.
Art the Greeeter.
Richard the manager who conducted himself in all my dealings with him gracefully and with kindness.
The best tomato salad from room service. ( my and my dd's fave)
A beautiful approach to the front of the property. It is a very pretty building, Love the colors.
